I have a form on a table which has a column indicating if the row is editable or not. When the form is displaying an existing row, the user would like the display attribute of all fields to be set to Display Only when the column indicates the row is not editable - otherwise the attributes should be set to Text, Number, Date, etc.

(1) a drop down list item called P38_DESK which contains a list of desks such as A, B, C
(2) a Chart region with region title: Chart Mvt by &P38_DESK.
(3) a dynamic action to "refresh" the Chart region if the value of P38_DESK is changed.
I can see that everytime the desk is changed from the drop down list, the chart section/region gets refreshed accordingly but NOT the Chart's region title.
It only showed the first value I chose. e.g. Chart Mvt by A So in APEX4.2, how can the CHART's region title be changed dynamically ( without submitting the entire page ) to reflect the value from the drop down list P38_DESK ?

I have just started using Oracle Application Express 11g. On my new attempt I am able to develop a table, report and a form, but I am not able to display picture image on the form though the browse link is active.
I can load the file name from the location folder to the form but it does not display. When I click on APPLY CHANGE then everything disappears. My main problem is how to successfully configure the settings for image display.
I am stuck at point.

how to make a form with report and an insert form in the same page, these two forms are related to the same table. Our customer wants a user can add new row to the table in a form and see all of rows created by this user in a report, this report should provide edit link as well. the problem is: whenever I inserted a new row or edit a row or delete a row, and submitted, and return to this page, all of hidden items lost their values, so report is blank, and some display only items also lost their values.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi encountered a big problem after upgrading Apex from 4.1 to 4.2.2. On an application page there is a Text Area which will be read and processed after clicking a button. I didn't want a refresh of the page and did it with a dynamic action.All this worked like a charm with 4.1. Since the upgrade, the value of the Text Area is always returned as null while processing the dynamic action, but the value is filled by the user!When i change the type of the Element to Rich Text Area everything works fine, but i don't want this because i don't want HTML in the corresponding table. Is this a bug? How can i workaround it?

In my page (form) I have 5 fileds iitems.
- Customer No
- Edit
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address
I want to hide First Name, Last Name, Address based on the value in Edit. Let say if user selects "Edit First Name" then First Name must get visible while Last Name & Address hidden.
So I placed this line onChange="$f_Hide_On_Value_Item(this,'LASTNAME,'LN')" in page item EDIT> Label > HTML Table Cell Attributes
But it not working for me? Where am I go wrong?
I have created report with the collections. Report query has been changing dynamically but i got problem with report header names and headers names has not been changing dynamically it is always showing like c001,c002....etc so, i have created global item(G_ITEM) in shared components--->Applications items after that I have created process(before headers) and assigning some value to G_ITEM and used &G_ITEM to column headres in IR Report but here &G_ITEM is not showing any value.
How can i achieve dynamic headers names by using *&G_ITEM(global items)*

In the tutorial example they return an page item value P3_SAL multiplied by a multiplier they've determined by another page item's case. What I want to do is much simpler in that I just want to add up multiple page item values and then display them in a number field at the bottom of the page.
so the code I tried to use based on the tutorial is in the tab: Home >Application Builder>Application 103>Page 3>Edit Dynamic Action>Create / Edit Action

I created a master-detail form using wizard in oracle apex 4.2 Now I want to attach an LOV to one of the items of detail form, which is visible on the same window as of master form. To do so, I need to first find the item in detail page, details of which are not available in page definitions. I can see all the items of master form but none for detail form in "Page Rendering" section.

Presently the form looks something like this and the Data for each field is rendered properly in this layout:

What I'm trying to do is to move "FIRST NAME" underneath "LAST NAME" and "UNIT #" next to "LAST NAME" This part is very simple. However, the issue I'm having is as soon as the "UNIT #" is moved next to "FIRST NAME", the data for "FIRST NAME" and "LAST NAME" simply disappear

I have played around for hours and even created from scratch a new page with a new form using SQL statements to pull the data for each field, only to get the same result.

I have two Select Lists P58_TYPE_DOC (it shows for users that have not adm profile) and P58_TYPE_DOC_ADM (it shows just for administrator).
On my Page proprieties I have on HTML Header this code :

I have to execute the java script when the page loads, but I cant execute the function for both items in the same time.
Because one of the items will be hidden, and the java script won't be able to find it.

I am using APEX 4.0, my regions need to be displayed at "Display Point: Display Template Body 2" in column 2.I have 2 regions I want displayed horizontally, side by side.I want to use a parent region to contain them. I create my parent region, called it A, template = Reports, assign it to sequence = 10.I create my 2 sub region (B) and (C), sequence 20 and 30, template = Navigation, picking parent = A.By default, B displays above C. I copied the Navigation template, creating a new one called NAV2 and added this in the sub-region template section:(this cut/paste) doesnt display well here: it is the exact DIV begin/end block as posted above.

I am developing an apex application using the apex cloud (apex.oraclecorp.com). I am using the DB link to show the data on APEX UI. I have a blob data which is stored in the remote DB, and I want to display the BLOB data as text on a popup or a new page or a download link. I tried using display only item but APEX throws an error saying that remote DB is not supported. Also, It would be great if I can just show a download link on the UI for the BLOB data, again when I try to select the format as BLOB in the column attributes, When I give the table@dblink as BLOB table I get an error saying that "table@DBLINK not found". Is there any way to display the BLOB data as text or download it which is present in my local DB?

I would like to display the row number in the report region at the beginning of each row for each page (based on the number of rows to display per page).
So if the number of rows per page is 15, I would want to show each row from 1 to 15. When going to the next page (16 - 31) I would like to show row 1 to 15 again next to each row. And if the number of rows per page is 20, I want to see row numbers 1 to 20 on each page.
Since I believe an Update button only processes the current page, I would like to then use this row numbers (1 - 15) to get the values of the displayed column for each row to perform an insert to another table.

How do I get the current display state (user looks at report, detail or icon view) out of the apex dictionary ?Is there any place in APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_IR_... where I can find it ? View 3 Replies View RelatedI implemented the re Captcha plugin and it works ok. What I want to do is, on the same page where the captcha is displayed, to have a report region that is displayed conditionally based on the captcha result.
More specifically, the page has two items for user input (the captcha and a text item) and a Submit button. If the captcha is successful, then the text item will be submitted and the region displayed. The problem I'm running into is that the text item is always submitted regardless of the captcha.

there is 1 row in it(id=1), just for display 2 images.
Uploaded 2 images into above Blob fields by file browse function. Now, I want to show the 2 pictures in a Region by using display image item P1_AR, but it didn't work.

Filename Column: null
BLOB last update Column: nullSource used: Only when current value in session state is null
Source type: SQL Query(return single value)

I got the error below after runing:
ORA-20999: P1_AR has to have a valid BLOB column as source
Is possible to remove the "show all" of the Region Display Selector? How can i do this?
