Application Express :: Display PDF In Apex Region?
Jul 11, 2012I have a requirement to view the PDF content in the apex page region, I am using Apex 3.2 and Oracle 10 Enterprise edition. I Uploaded the PDF file in the shared component under static file. Now i need to view the content of the PDF file. method to view the PDF content.
I saw the link in denes blog here he shows how the PDF is getting displayed. but there is no steps of methods mentioned

Application Express :: Display Row Number In Report Region
Feb 6, 2013I would like to display the row number in the report region at the beginning of each row for each page (based on the number of rows to display per page).
So if the number of rows per page is 15, I would want to show each row from 1 to 15. When going to the next page (16 - 31) I would like to show row 1 to 15 again next to each row. And if the number of rows per page is 20, I want to see row numbers 1 to 20 on each page.
Since I believe an Update button only processes the current page, I would like to then use this row numbers (1 - 15) to get the values of the displayed column for each row to perform an insert to another table.
Application Express :: How To Display 4.2 Chart Region Title Dynamically
Aug 21, 2013i I am using APEX4.2 and created
(1) a drop down list item called P38_DESK which contains a list of desks such as A, B, C
(2) a Chart region with region title: Chart Mvt by &P38_DESK.
(3) a dynamic action to "refresh" the Chart region if the value of P38_DESK is changed.
I can see that everytime the desk is changed from the drop down list, the chart section/region gets refreshed accordingly but NOT the Chart's region title.
It only showed the first value I chose. e.g. Chart Mvt by A So in APEX4.2, how can the CHART's region title be changed dynamically ( without submitting the entire page ) to reflect the value from the drop down list P38_DESK ?

May 3, 2013On package application "Customer Tracking", there is good example about Modal Page. Quite simple but it work quite nicely.The step to create this Modal Page:
- Create new region, set display point: After Header and use region template: Modal Region and set the Static ID (eg. ActivityModal)
- Create the page item and put it on the above region (eyample: Name, Company etc.)
- Create a button, set the action to "Redirect to URL" and enter the URL target to: javascript:openModal('ActivityModal');
Now when you click on the button, the modal page will be display.How can I pass a parameter to the modal page, example: I want to pass text 'Johnny' to the Name page item which is on the modal region.
Application Express :: Possible To Display Null Item Value As All In Blank HTML Region

I have select list which has null and other values. I have created a blank HTML region with the following text
Report for the year &P2_YEAR. and for geography &P2_GEOG.
Now P2_YEAR works fine because, it is always populated with a year. However, &P2_GEOG has 'All' as null value since we can see the report for all geographies. However, if the all option is selected, the above &P2_GEOG. shows as null. Since its not a PL/SQL proc, I cannot put in a NVL. I am guessing one possible way is to write a PL/SQL code before region and then check if its null and then try to populate a new hidden field and show, something like that. Wondering if there is a way to do it directly in the HTML region?
Application Express :: Looping Through Row Selector Exponentially Duplicating

BackgroundCreated a Tabular Form based on a view. Removed all the default multi-row updates and deletions, buttons and processes.I am using a tabular form because of the fact that I can gain access to a row selector.The row data itself is all read only so in effect this is a report with a row selector.This is because I can't find a way to select a row an interactive report, well I can and did but this was a work around. ProblemI have created a button to process the selector to run the below code:

I just wanted to see what would be output. For one row this works fantastically and I can find the ID based on the rowWhen I select more than one row the loop run's through for the number of rows but then also runs for the number of rows selected.So if I selected threee rows this above procedure would run three times, each times looping three times.I have set the execution scope to: For Created and Modified Rows in the button condition that appears.RequiredI only want to loop through the selected rows once per button clickORKnow which row I am currently looping through.

By Doubt is, 'build_status=Run only' alone,cannot protect our application from client developers to edit our application,
Because though we install our application as 'Run Only' at the time of installation in client instance,we can still import the original application and change the type to 'Build and Run Application',and run the new application as 'Build and Run'.(which is not supposed to) we want to make sure,if there is any way we can protect our application from modifications after client side installation.
Application Express :: How To Use Computation With EDIT
Mar 19, 2013I have used computation in form .i have take 7 check box item with value
MON =1
TUES =2
WED =3
THU =5
FRI =6
SAT =6
SUN =7
these item are not database column.
Using computation after submit i have concatinate it and insert in to OPERATING_DAYS Column into table.
example :if i check MON AND WED AND FRI THEN concatenate value insert into table 136
:P6_MON||:P6_TUS||:P6_WED||:P6_THR||:P6_FRI||:P6_SAT||:P6_SUNPloblem is when i edit record but this 136 value of operating days does not come into MON,WED and FRI.
How to extract these days value from OPERATING_DAYS Column into respective Days Item.

and Report Attributes=>Link Column have given Link to custom <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#e2.gif" border="0"> for P9_EMPNO...the editable displaying fine.
MY Requirement was ..in the editable link...i need to control with DISBALE/ENALE with if EMPNO=100 then all 100 id records need to editable link disable and if EMPNO=120 then All 120 records editable link need to be enable..this kind of thing need in the report..

Jul 12, 2013 Apex has been upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.2. I don't know if the upgrade was done correct or not by the administrator, but I don't have the page edit link anymore,
and anytime I run a individual page from the Edit Application, I have to Log in. Did something went wrong during the upgrade or is this the behavior of Apex now, which I don't think so.

Feb 9, 2013I have an interactive report from a view and have a rowid column that is a link to a page to edit a table.
The rowid value in db is: ABH/WVAG1AAAAF9AAA
But the generated link is:
f?p=XXX:24:9420765805297::NO::P24_ROWID:ABH%26#x2F;WVAG1AAAAF7AAA
And when it loads the page it happens a no data found error (because the escaped characters)
What would be the solution for this problem?

Oct 3, 2013APEX Builder page 4000:37 List view shows name, notes and download columns. The name column should link through to CSS Edit page (39), but instead downloads the file. Workaround: Switch to the icon view, and click on the icon which takes you to the CSS edit page. Can the APEX team correct this, as switching to icon view is not intuitive.

Jan 3, 2013Iam facing another issue with Skillbuilder modal page(for those who have used this plugins). Ive the CREATE part working well the problem is with EDIT part to edit records via the link i applied all the steps and clicking the edit link pops up the page but the issue is for any clicked row the parameter is not being passed and seleceted record doesnt show on the pop up page where could the problem be? though if i set it back to normal link created by the wizard the edit link works well and shows that record on the editable page.

Is there any way of adding something similar to an actual page region as this would be useful when creating particularly large pages (I know, we should design smaller pages but that's not always possible).

Sep 21, 2012I've created a new appliacation which has a home page and I've created a report page which updates a table. I want to add a link to my homepage, as a text line for example UpdateTable, and when I click the link, it goes to my report page. I've had a look in my Apex CookBook, and it says I do this by using the Navigation region in my home page. The problem is I don't seem to have a navigation region in my home page. I thought initially it meant the navigation bar, but I now realise this is the header bar. Do you know how I can create a navigation region in my home page..?

Aug 13, 2013I have an APEX page with a master and a detail. The master is a classic report with a column link which sets an hidden item on my

I have a dynamic action which reacts on change of the item P280_DAK_ID.It then refreshes the detail region which is a PL/SQL region with the following:
begin apex_p280.show_xml(p_dak_id => v('P280_DAK_ID'));end;
This prints a few pieces of text to the screen, nothing special. Everything works except the refresh of the detail region.This is due to the fact that the new value of P280_DAK_ID is not in the session state yet. So my question is: what would be a nice solution to set the item in the session state without a submit? With a normal region I could fill in 'Page items to submit', but with a pl/sql region I can't.
