There is a attendance table having structure(empid number,signtime datetime)It has data of attendance of employees:
What is the right sql to show employees detail attendance according to the no of days attendance . i.e.(According to the maximum no of attendance first and so on)
suppose: 3 employees abc,bbc,cca abc has 20 days of attendance ,bbc has 21 days,cca has 19 days..The report like this:
bbc 1/5/12 10:30
abc .....
then
cca
according to the no of attendannce

Is it possible to display the detail block (different canvas) in the master block canvas, but when finished entering data into master block and a button is pressed? And i want to use some conditions in the when-button-pressed trigger. based on that it should show different canvas.
simply speaking, my aim is to use the upper part of the screen to show master block and the lower part for a detail block from the different detail blocks based on condition checked in when-button-pressed trigger.

When i create report in master detail. When detail record end on the page, the second record show on same page. Problem is that detail show on other page. I want that if record is completed on that page then ok. Otherwise it show on next page.

I have two columns Department and EmpName:

Now I want to count the number of employees in every department. I want the output to be

I am retrieving names of the department through a subquery
The query I am trying to execute is:
SELECT Department, Employee FROM
( SELECT ...query from other table) AS Department, count( A.EmpName) AS Employee
FROM Employer A, EmployeeInfo B
WHERE (A.EmpID = B.EmpID AND A.EmpCategory like 'Category2')
GROUP BY Department
I know that you cannot group by using aliases and hence a little work around, but still the query isn't working.

Is there any Oracle query I can run to determine the "number of days since the last backup"? SQL Server provides this data but I cant seem to find the equivalent for Oracle. Looks like there may be some information like this via RMAN tables and if so I want to create the simplest query possible to obtain that information.

setting up the query/correcting the syntax below so that it calculates the 'number of days difference' between whatever the 'Biggest Date' field value is and whatever the 'current date' is using the 'sysdate'. So far, I've only managed to get the query to calculate the number of days difference (days past due) between the 'need date' and 'estimated delivery date'.

We have a requirement where we need to pay allowance for the employees based on their number of working days. Say for example if an employee worked from 03/Mar/2012 to 05/Apr/2012.
We have a fixed value for per month 300 Dirhams. But the Number of Days on March s 31 and Number of days in April is 30. So per day allowance for March day would be 300/31 and April would be 300/30.
We are looking for logic opr query which calculates first eh number of days in each month ( across months) and then calculate as below
Number of Working days in March is 31 - 3 + 1 = 29
Allowance A1 = (300 * 29 )/31
Number of Working days in April is 5 ( this also needs to find logical I am guess )
Allowance A2 = (300 * 5 )/30
Then A1 + A2.
The A(n) would be the total allowance where provided the number of month across.

I have form with master detail relation ship (invoicing form) the detail block is tabular, displaying upto 7 records...
Now my clients wants to show the serial number along with each record while feeding the data (this includes when insert, editing, deleting / clearing records) he wants to see the serial number as in MS access / MS techniques.
I tried to use the system variable to use :system.cursor_record; but this dose not works.(in insert/edit/delete/clear record)

I have been trying to construct a query in Oracle that allows me to do the following:
For example if I have the data below:
EmpNo DOB SickDays
Alex 445 15/06/1985 7
Tom 778 22/08/1981 4
James 992 07/10/1978 5
I need to write and a query to lists the employee number and the amount of days sick that they have had and also add a column that compares the number of sick days to the average number of suck days by ALL employees.
I can calculate the average sick days etc, but It wont see to allow me to find the difference between that and the amount of sick days that each person has had. I have tried this many ways and have not been able to come up with a solution.

The data in one of the temporary table has been compiled as below. Number of Days elapsed between two transaction dates is required to be computed and multiplied with the balance. There can be multiple number of same transaction dates. When previous date and the current transaction dates are same the resulting number of day difference should be 0. But when they are different the difference between them is to be computed. On the last day of the Financial Year i.e. '31/03' of any year the difference day should be shown as 1 so as to make 365 or 366 days in a year. Simply deducting d1 from d2 on 31st will not be suffice as the difference is one day less.

1. My detail form has part number as one of the fields and I want to make sure the user can enter a part number only once. How can I make sure user cannot enter it more than once?
2. I want to limit number of detail records for every parent record to 8. How can I accomplish this?
3. I have approval flags at both master and detail. If the user tries to approve the master with some/all detail records unapproved, system should display error message and make the user approve the detail before approving the master.

I need the following totals for each student based on the schools that they are enrolled for each month July through June.
Total Days Suspended from each school
Attendance Table Columns - Absent Date, Absent Code, Pupil_Number, School (Absent Codes for suspended = 3)
Total Days Present at each school - Days Enrolled at each school minus Days Suspended minus Absences
Totals Takes the first day that a student is enrolled (counts the days that the school is in session and the student is not marked absent) Student must be enrolled during the time frame for that month.
Total Days Absent - Total days absent minus suspensions
Examples
Student enrolls in school 11111 on 7/15/2011
Student withdraws from School 11111 on 11/15/2011
Student enrolls in school 22222 on 11/20/2011
Total Days Present should be totaled for each student for each month that they are in a school.
I need 1 row of data for the above student for each month that contains total days suspended, total days present and total days absent.
Pupil Number School Month Totals Days Suspended Total Days Absent Total Days Present
1234 11111 07 0 0 0
1234 11111 08 0 0 4 (school days 4)

I have been asked to show the names and room number according to students who have 4 classes in a room.

However I get the error 'ERROR at line 4:

By using To_char function like below, I am not getting the desired format.

my report is based on two tables.master and detail. i am using GROUP ABOVE style.displaying master tables columns up and detail table columns down.
my problem is ...i want 3 columns from master table (i.e)RECEIVER ID,RECEIVER NAME and RECEIVE DATE to be printed at the bottom of the page.
and also i want only 4 records from detail table to be printed on each page.

I have to date field in detail part of master detail Form. In detail part i have field of From_date and To_date. I want when i go to next record in detail part ,,,from date is initiaze by previous to date+1....eg.like

I have Attached calender to two feild...and calender is the different block... In Detail block when_record_instance i handled the;; From date=previous to-date +1;
but when i double click the feild calender is open and when_new_record trigger is fired agian. calender called ...the when_new_record is not callled .....
