Oracle Database 10g Login After Installing?
Mar 2, 2013I installed oracle database 10g on my laptop, it installed successfully. I see sql plus in my program, how will i get login details for my database?

May 17, 2011But i do a lot of work-arounds to make sure the installation does not make corrupt my OracleAgent,OracleService and OracleDataGatherer. If i just let the installation do its thing i have problems with my libraries, and can't start anything.
The errors are : Procedure entry point 'BlaBla' could not be located in the Dynamic Link library 'AnyName'.
I notice that i have 2 versions of the libraries in OracleHomeBIN (one version 8, one version 11). The programs that start the OracleAgent,Service and DataGatherer call the old libraries but expect to find values that can be found only in new libraries.
Installing Oracle 10g Developer Suite And Database Server
Jul 12, 2011i installed oracle 10g dev suite do i still need to install the db 10g? i tried installing db10g first then the dev suite. On the db 10g i can connect via sqlplus. while i cannot connect on the dev suite, which has a 'sqlplus' too.
i am trying the hr:hr credentials, also tried sys as sysdba it gives me tns protocol adapter error (12560)
i tried to replace the tnsnames.ora of the devsuite with the tnsnames.ora of db10g still didn't work. i also set up the ORACLE_HOME to the db 10g's folder

why does the devsuite has its own tnsnames.ora. does it have some db server of its own? if it has do i still need to install db 10g?

Oracle Installed In Workgroup - Not Able To Login Database
Oct 15, 2011I am new in oracle I have installed Oracle in work group, while i work group it is working fine. But latter I have change the server from work group to domain. At that time Oracle was not working , not able to connect.
After that I change the Domain to work group again. And same problem exist. But I found that lsnrctl is working fine. But OracleServiceXXX is not able to startup in services.msc

SID/SERVICE NAME
these details. May be am wrong to ask this question but i need to login and check the requirement. Is there any other anyway to login without sqlplus utility?

May 15, 2012I have installed oracle 10g server (10.2.0) standard. My OS is win xp sp-2.
when I run sqlplus or toad, Error Message comes ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress.
I have done below steps
in command prompt: C:sqlplus/nolog
sql:> connect system/admin (this is my database username/pass)

This form will validate the user via .dll after successfully validation, Form will connect to specific oracle user. This Login Screen will call the new form that will execute the query for the list of excel sheet [table that will keep the name, description and path of the excelbook]. User will select the one excelbook to open. As user will select Excelbook should be open. Now this excel book should be connected with specific oracle user.
Question 1: How to open the excelbook, that excelbook should be connected via form 10g login screen. After connection excel has its own micros to run he query from oracle database.
Question 2: How I can create the mirco into form 10g to run into excelbook/excelsheet.
Question 3: How I can pass the query or function/procedure to the excelbook/excelsheet.

Sep 28, 2010I am setting up a conversion server for upgrading an application database to a later version - the database is hosted on 11g but the vendor provided ETL tool only supports the Oracle 10g client. Is there a specific order so the install will work on the initial install. I'm installing Oracle 11g R1 (11.1 no patches) and 10g (10.1.0.4 after patching) 32Bit on a WIN2K3 SP2 Server. I've done this install before but have had to play with the path order to get it to work.

I installed a simple starter database during the installation of Oracle Database 12cR1 with the PDBORCL option selected (default) and would like to install the Oracle Example data, such as users HR schema, etc.

Perhaps the scripts were not designed for container and plug-able databases. I did the following:

I could probably create a normal database, but I wonder if there is any other option without having to modify the setup scripts.
