Forms :: Error While Installing Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2?
Oct 11, 2011
When I try to install "Oracle Developer Suite 10g 10.1.2.0.2" on Windows 7, I'm getting error , " Install has encountered an error while attempting to verify your virtual memory settings. verify that the sum of the initial sizes of the paging files is atleast 256 MB."
While installing Dev Suite 10g i got the following error:[URL] What should i do? I specified another oracle home name, i have oracle database 11g installed too, and i'm installing dev suite 10g on another location.
i installed oracle 10g dev suite do i still need to install the db 10g? i tried installing db10g first then the dev suite. On the db 10g i can connect via sqlplus. while i cannot connect on the dev suite, which has a 'sqlplus' too.
i am trying the hr:hr credentials, also tried sys as sysdba it gives me tns protocol adapter error (12560)
i tried to replace the tnsnames.ora of the devsuite with the tnsnames.ora of db10g still didn't work. i also set up the ORACLE_HOME to the db 10g's folder
D:ProgramsOracleproduct10.2.0db_1
why does the devsuite has its own tnsnames.ora. does it have some db server of its own? if it has do i still need to install db 10g?
I just upgraded our server to Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g with Forms and Reports and now I want to update the developers workstation too.
They have Oracle Developer Suite 10g R1 for the moment. The last version of Oracle Developer Suite is 10g R2 and I don't see anything for 11g. All I can find is that it's now in Fusion Middleware 11g and JDeveloper... But, from what I can see, JDeveloper is for Java development, not for Forms/Reports development.
So, do I need to use Oracle Developer Suite 10g R2 or is there a new version of it?
i am in middle of the installation process. installor is not recognising the second one.
i gave the path to the second file. I tried from the disk by writing the file to the disk. but of no use.how do i complete this installation process.
Unable to find the product files specified by the disk labled 'OracleDEVsuite'. Unable to continue installation , please check the value specified in variable FROM_CD_LABEL matches with the value in file disk.label or check if the disk is accessable.
i havn't find any location or relevent info in ht edisk.label file.

i am new and developing my first oracle form.but when i am running this form.it's not running,i have installed already jinit.exe setup. Is this necessary internet connection for running forms.port no. is 8890.
I am running an Oracle 9i DB with character set : FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1.
The data inside the DB deals with two languages : - French and Arabic.
I insert, delete, update data on the DB through one of these tools : - SQL*PLUS - Forms 6i
and everything works fine especially with Arabic : characters are interpreted correctly by these tools. Now, I want to use Dev Suite as a new tool.
My problem is with Arabic characters : they are not displayed correctly. On the web form (run by a JRE : JInitiator) the characters are not replaced by "?", they are wrongly interpreted.
Example :
The right interpretation of "Amine" in arabic is : أمين and not : Ããíä. So, querying a table with Dev Suite returns me Ããíä and not ????.
It seems like the JRE "understands" the characters but doesn't know how to "interpret" the Arabic characters correctly. I've tried to play with the NLS_LANG parameter on the regedit but in vain.

I have tried to install oracle 10g on my Windows XP. But during the installation I have got these errors:

here is the error faced when installing oracle 11gR2,

I installed oracle 9i from cd's (3 cd pack) all the three cd's installed perfectly but after the installation of these three cd's , a window appears (which is default installation ) in which some below mentioned tools were installed:-
1. Net Configuration Assitant 2. HTTP server etc. when installation of net configuration assistant is going on then a window is popped up saying "jrew.exe stops working" and the process of installation keeps going on and going on..........then when i stopped listener ,then another tool installation starts and after sometime again a window is popped with same message "jrew.exe stops working". means all the 4 tools are not successfully installed ...installing oracle 9i database on windows7.
So as luck would have it my Win XP OS crashed. Yes, its the office laptop and I cannot upgrade the OS for now. Anyhow, I got the whole machine re-imaged and installed 10g which had version 2.1 and everything was okay. I was earlier running apex 4.1.1. I could not find that setup on the oracle site so I downloaded apex 4.2 and ran the installation as per page
[URL].........
Everything went through properly except for step
5. Log back into SQL*Plus (as above) and load images:
SQL> @apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME
[Note: APEX_HOME is the directory you specified when unzipping the file. For example, with Windows 'C:'.]
where it asked me to enter the directory and I entered C:
This is what happened
SQL> @apxldimg.sql
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
Enter value for 1: C: old 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as '&1/apex/images' new 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as 'C:/apex/images'
Directory created.
^C C:apex>
I see a backslash and forward slash so I did a ctrl c . When I tried running the command again - @apxldimg.sql
it just would open the .sql file.
Not sure if this is the issue, but anyhow, after this, when I tried the "go to database page. It just shows a blank page. I was happy with 4.1.1. Is that available anywhere? Maybe I can remove XE and do a fresh install with that.
I am trying to install Oracle 10g Developer suite on windows 7 but the system gives the following error. (file attached). I have successfully installed Oracle 10g Database.
When i try to install Oracle forms ver.11g(newest version), after several seconds I have this error: "INST-07286: Specified Oracle Middleware home location does not have version 10.3.5.0 of WebLogic server. If the version is incorrect then configuring with the Weblogic server will fail.
Provide a Oracle Middleware home location which contains WebLogic server with version 10.3.5.0 or upgrade the Weblogic server to 10.3.5.0 and restart the install." I have already installed Weblogic 12c (also newest version) - it works fine, but how can I upgrade it to 10.3.5.0 ?? (I really have to ? It won't work with Weblogic 12c?)
I tried to debug the procedure in Oracle SQL Developer and got the below error,
Connecting to the database TEST. Executing PL/SQL: ALTER SESSION SET PLSQL_DEBUG=TRUE Executing PL/SQL: CALL DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP.CONNECT_TCP( '****', '4000' ) ORA-30683: failure establishing connection to debugger ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DEBUG_JDWP", line 68 ORA-06512: at line 1 Process exited. Disconnecting from the database TEST.
Here,
TEST is my database name, **** is IP address of my local machine 4000 is the port number, also I have set the debug port range as 4000 - 4999 in SQL DEVELOPER. firewall is not enabled in my machine.
we have these oracle developer 2000 forms (in .fmx format) in a server and the data of these forms in another server.... the server with the data is very old and is very slow...so we decided to relocate the database(oracle 9i) to a new server..... also, we move the developer 2000 forms from the old server to another server which will serve as the front end to the new data server. how to make the developer 2000 forms on the new front end server to point to the new database on the new data server. how the forms find the data, where this "connection string" is for developer 2000 forms.
I am using oracle developer 10g R2. Now i would like to create a java(jar) function or any other type then would like to add this jar file into my oracle form with a button and when i run this and click on this button then display the message from java function.
My company has acquired a technology that was written in Oracle Forms 6-8 and am looking to first compile and maintain and then upgrade to either 11g or another platform. The older versions of Oracle Development cannot be downloaded from Oracle's site. Will Oracle provide the link if asked?
i am running oracle 10g developer release2. i want to set item property false/true in response to a specific action, like disabling text item when check box or radio button pressed.
