Enterprise Manage Console Closing Automatically?

I have successfully installed the Oracle 10g standerd version with a sample database on Windows server 2008 standard server. Then I installed the client so that I could use the Enterprise manage console that comes with it. Once installed, I was able to successfully configured the Net service. Now when I use either Enterprise manage console or SQL plus to login to the service that I created, once I enter the user id and password and click ok, system automatically closes both applications. I am not sure what is missing. I installed the same client on a windows XP pc and the enterprise manage console is working perfect.

When I am trying to enter to the enterprise manager of oracle 11g, but it is not working. In my services list the 'oracledbconsoleorcl' is assigned as automatically to start with windows. But it is not starting. When I tried to start it manually the following message is displayed repeatedly even after restarting the pc.
'Windows could not start the oracledbconsoleorcl on Local computer. For more information, view the system event log. If this is a non-Microsoft services, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.'
In the event log the following error messages are displayed:The OracleDBConsoleorcl service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2). and
The OracleCSService service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

I suddenly started getting this error message "Error
java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect ". on the dbconsole of my database. Any clue where to proceed or how to find whats causing this error.

How I can get the heavy weight (Java) oem db console installed on my Windows XP desktop?
I used to have a 9i oem console before. But after reinstaling the OS on my laptop, I don't rememeber how I got the oem Java console installed in the first place.
I have a 10.2.0.1 db installed and web based oem console access to that db. But I want to be able to connect to other remote databases using the java console and manage/monitor the remote databases, like I used to before.

i have already give the grant option cnnect,resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. Click on Help to get more version specific information"
when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.

I installed oracle 10g in Aix,
>emctl start dbconsole
it shows "the Enterprise Manager 10g database control started"
but when i use
> emctl status dbconsole
it shows " EM Daemon is not running"
and the log file..

I have problem with EM console. When I restart machine OracleDBConsoleSID is stopped.
When I try to start this service:
Could not start the OracelDBConsoleSID service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
And then this service has status: Staring. EM then work for short time but then again service is stopped.
The Database works without any problems.

$emctl stop dbconsole stops the OEM process.
however,it starts back up on server reboot,how can we prevent that is emca deconfig the only option?

How can i successfully run emcli execute_hostcmd from EM console on Windows Agent?
I met a strange error about EM Agent. When i run the following command by EM console on a Windows Agent:
emcli execute_hostcmd -cmd="hostname" -targets="myhost:host" -credential_set_name="HostCredsPriv"
It comes with the following information
Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
(to execute a class)
or java [-options] -jar jarfile [args...]
(to execute a jar file)
where options include:
-client to select the "client" VM
...
But on Linux Agent,everything is fine.

I created following table and procedure
create table t(n number);
create or replace procedure prc as
begin
insert into t values (1);
commit;
sys.dbms_lock.sleep(10);
[code]...
I opened 2 sessions
from session -1, I executed
exec prc
from session -2, I executed
select * from t;
In the middle of the execution when I had following values inserted into t, I closed the sql window of session where I was executing the process prc
select * from t;

1
2
3
and found that the session got terminated and no values inserted into table t after this.
I may be missing some basic oracle stuff here but I was expecting the session would continue running on the server inserting values in table t upto 6.
I would like to know in which case a session executed from sql client will continue even while the sql window is closed?

I am making a field mandatory dynamially by set_item_property to Required Yes.So when i left it blank it is displaying the error Frm-40202, it's fine. But when i closing this error message by clicking on OK button to enter the field it was not allowing me to navigate into the field. The same error message is reopening.

I am using Oracle XE with SQL Developer to teach a course on databases.
The students complete a number of small projects. How can a student separate the projects so as to be able to open in SQL Developer only the tables pertaining to a specific project? Ideally, the student would be able to assign the same name to two tables that belong to different projects.
I know that this can be done by naming conventions and filtering, but this is awkward.

i have a form having 4 database data blocks and one non database data block(for Push Buttons like SAVE,CLEAR,EXIT..).
In the control Block i have 5 push buttons out of which one is used to Save the entries and one to clear the form. In the coding of SAVE button after writing "COMMIT_FORM;" i want to disable all other Data block on my form excluding the one containing Push buttons so that the data entered by end user stay appearing on the form till he Clears the form.
Now the problem is that when i set enabled property of one particular text_item to false , the form if closing down along with the application, it is totally disappearing from screen.This is happening for one particular text item.
what could be the possible reason for this and what needs to be done to overcome this problem.

A Java program would call a sequence of 5 PLSQL procedures, and they all need to participates the Tranasction defined in Java.
What do I do for the transactions inside PLSQL to ensure all 5 pariticpate in the Java transaction? I suppose I just do not specify any COMMIT in the PLSQL, but that probably would not work as PLSQL would COMMIT by default after exiting the proc?

We just purchased NAS (Raid5) unit to manage our data storage. I am planning to create a virtual partition on this nas device and use one partition for oracle data storage and another virtual partition will be used by other data (files and may be sqlserver data files....etc..)
We will have oracle installed on seperate oracle server. Can we use RMAN to manage incremental backups in this environment? May main worry point is that our data storage device will have many different type of datas and will we be able to tell RMAN to make backups only from certain virtual drives?

We are using oracle 10g. with our code, Currently Oracle partitions are size the same way, each partition is using 10MB for data and 12MB for indexes (with the 6 default indexes); even of very few records are written in the partition.
We create partitions in advance as a part of nightly job with 10 minutes duration.Can some intelligence can be added where based on statistics we can decide the size of partition dynamically? Lot of space is getting wasted because of this reason.
