I have oracle9i installed on my system.. i have created a database using enterprise manger console..
Now i want to export this database for the purpose of backup.. so that i can import it later.
i have already give the grant option cnnect,resource to scott but it is not connecting to enter prise manager console of Oracle database 11gR1. i am getting this error while connecting "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted. Click on Help to get more version specific information"
when i am giving scott the dba rights then it is connecting. but i cann't give dba rights to scott.so, how/what is the specific command to give permission scott for connecting to enter prise manager console.
I suddenly started getting this error message "Error
java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect ". on the dbconsole of my database. Any clue where to proceed or how to find whats causing this error.
is Oracle Corporation provides Enterprise console for 11g, like oracle provides Enter prise console for 10g through which we can view/create/manage all the objects like tables,views,functions and procedures etc.

I used to have a 9i oem console before. But after reinstaling the OS on my laptop, I don't rememeber how I got the oem Java console installed in the first place.
I have a 10.2.0.1 db installed and web based oem console access to that db. But I want to be able to connect to other remote databases using the java console and manage/monitor the remote databases, like I used to before.
I installed oracle 10g in Aix,
>emctl start dbconsole
it shows "the Enterprise Manager 10g database control started"
but when i use
> emctl status dbconsole
it shows " EM Daemon is not running"
and the log file..
Thread-1 ERROR main: nmeuemdp_EMDProperty_init failed to read emd.properties
I have problem with EM console. When I restart machine OracleDBConsoleSID is stopped.
When I try to start this service:
Could not start the OracelDBConsoleSID service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
And then this service has status: Staring. EM then work for short time but then again service is stopped.
The Database works without any problems.
cmd>emctl start dbconsole
while i run above command it gives following error. what should i do to make my EM run?
error:::EM Configuration issue. C:oracleproduct10.2.0db_1/Abhishek-PC_orcl not found .
$emctl stop dbconsole stops the OEM process.
however,it starts back up on server reboot,how can we prevent that is emca deconfig the only option?
I am not finding Replication Management Tool in Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g. Where can i found it?

I met a strange error about EM Agent. When i run the following command by EM console on a Windows Agent:
emcli execute_hostcmd -cmd="hostname" -targets="myhost:host" -credential_set_name="HostCredsPriv"
It comes with the following information
Usage: java [-options] class [args...]
(to execute a class)
or java [-options] -jar jarfile [args...]
(to execute a jar file)
where options include:
-client to select the "client" VM
...
But on Linux Agent,everything is fine.
When I am trying to enter to the enterprise manager of oracle 11g, but it is not working. In my services list the 'oracledbconsoleorcl' is assigned as automatically to start with windows. But it is not starting. When I tried to start it manually the following message is displayed repeatedly even after restarting the pc.
'Windows could not start the oracledbconsoleorcl on Local computer. For more information, view the system event log. If this is a non-Microsoft services, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2.'
In the event log the following error messages are displayed:The OracleDBConsoleorcl service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2). and
The OracleCSService service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I would like to export my whole database every evening. How can I do this using enterprise manager.

Whenever i click an Agent on the Grid Control it gives me this error: "Communication between the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host is unavailable. Any functions or displayed information requiring this communication link will be unavailable. For example: deleting/configuring/adding targets, uploading metric data, or displaying Agent home page information such as Agent to Management Service Response Time (ms)."
I get the same error when i try to configure a host or a database.

I have successfully installed the Oracle 10g standerd version with a sample database on Windows server 2008 standard server. Then I installed the client so that I could use the Enterprise manage console that comes with it. Once installed, I was able to successfully configured the Net service. Now when I use either Enterprise manage console or SQL plus to login to the service that I created, once I enter the user id and password and click ok, system automatically closes both applications. I am not sure what is missing. I installed the same client on a windows XP pc and the enterprise manage console is working perfect.

Before DBCA completion of Database it give error message like database control not running. When i press OK the DBCA completed and database installed but where it shows the database control url it shows database url is null. when i try to give this url http://sweetdba:1158/em it shows error. why the url is not working. 11g database is working and connected.

I installed Oracle database 11g enterprise edition. I can connect it through sql plus but Database control is not starting. I have checked dbconsole service which is running.

but mozilla and chrome both are unable to start the application. after installation it started only once. but it is not starting now.
second thing is how can i confirm what is the port of my listener is it 1158 or something else.
I need to copy all the database objects from one database to another database.I have 32 bit windows environment I tried export and put it in a dump file but dump file size exceeds the limit, my database size is about 300 GB.
What would be efficient way to replicate all the database objects move to another box ..?
I am Not able to connect to the Database through the web Browser,
I have started Listener, EM, and i have checked the port number is in Listen mode all is working but not connecting to the EM through web browser.
On our test database server, we restore a copy of the production database from the rman backup. The process worked well and we could connect and do the processing with sqlplus, or any other third party tools like Toad.
Strange enough, Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) does not recognize it. So if we like to drop the database from the DBCA, it is not there. Also we could not get the DBCONSOLE to work with.
The all powerful command: emca -repos recreate generates a list of errors.
I always thought that Database control and Enterprise manager was synonyms...But I am reading a mock about OCA exam and there it said:
QUOTE You just can apply the pacth binaries using the Database Control and with the oPatch utility, but not with the Enterprise Manager...
But to me Database Control and Enterprise Manager are the same thing...
Are there difference between them?
