Application Express :: Current Version Of Data In Database Has Changed Since User Initiated Update
Sep 25, 2012
I am experimenting with the 4.2 version of Apex at URL.....
I have created a tabular form (based on a view with an instead of trigger) and have restricted this form to "Update only" mode. Whenever I modify a field value and submit the change I get the error "Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process".
As all of you know, In the Apex, when you create a form with report in the page, you are able to insert and edit data. But when you edit the data, the data will be modified in the same row. In other word, you loose the old data.
What I need to do is: I have revised_num field and production_date field. I want to create a form with report and insert and edit data as is in the apex and insert 0 to the revised num until production date is null. But when production date is not null, then from that point, I want to insert data to another row and modify revised num to 1. and I want the revised num be incremented by 1 each time the user modifies the data after the production date is not null.I don't know where I should start.
I have an urgent requirement to kill an existing session if a new session starts for the same user. I have been reading lot of blogs and posts on the above topic, but could clearly tell me how to do it.
I thought of putting a process in 101 page when login button is pressed to catch this and kill the old session.
I downloaded Oracle Database 11g Express Edition R2 to test Apex (I've never used). I want to know how to change the language of the version of Apex (integrated with Oracle Database 11g XE)? I would apex in French.
I have an APEX Page , page no1 for person's details that got fields like name, Date of Birth. When user enters the details, it get saved. Now when we want to edit a person's details, we click on that person then it goes to next page, where we can change/details of the person. But when i tried to do that, i am getting Not a valid month error.. log message shows that it is coming from : Automatic Row Processing (DML)- an after SUBMIT process. Is there a way to avoid this error?I changed date formats for several different ways.
For auditing, I need to insert the user, among other data, into different tables. The thing is, I have an application with DB account authentication, so a real database user is connected, when auditing, the user field inserted is "ANONYMOUS".
Apex 4.2 EPG Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.5 Database 11.2 EE
Had some issues with a page on which i changed the value of an item using javascript and added a dynamic action (dummy pl-sql) that submitted the item. The problem was that if i also used $x_disableItem to disable the item in the function that set the value , the value submitted was always null. However if i used the "Disabled" attribute from the item Settings and remove the calling $x_disableItem in the function, the value submitted is correct.
To reproduce , create these objects on a page (default everything not specified):
I worked with apex 4.2 and i create normal classic report with one checkbox column and one column change it to select list(named loved) now i want when user change list take value of checkbox item and show it in message .
i change the column attributes of Dept_NO to Display as Select list of department name (named lov). Now i want when user change name of department the value of SEQ SHOW IN ALERT MESSAGE
i create JavaScript on the page
function test(pThis) { var f01_value = $('select[name="f01"]').value; alert('#SEQ : '+ f01_value); } </script>
I call this javascript function when list change but the value undefined..
My Question :
How can get this value Or any value of item in reports ?
I have created a form. Some of the elements are hidden such as updated_by and update_date. I have provided the default values for these attributes as pl/sql expression in the "default section" (Application->page->edit page item). I am using the Process Row process that is automatically created when a form is created.
The problem is when I click the update button, the updated_by and update_date is passed as null values which throws an error from the database.
I have an application that I'd like to prevent activity in after a certain time of day, say 3pm. Is there any way I can force logout of all current users and then prevent re-login until 9am the next day (short of deleting all of their login credentials and then recreating them the next morning)?
how to use APEX_ITEM.text for where the source for this comes from user input values and not for an underlying table.I have a report where three columns are coming from an actual table (one being a checkbox for selection) but then also have two additional fields on the screen that are not from a table but placeholder fields for user's to enter data.
For example, my query looks like this:
select apex_item.checkbox2(10,id), name, telephone, apex_item.text(20,NULL) as "Date Contacted", apex_item.textarea(30,NULL,5,80) as "Comment" from my_table
I am not seeing any values for the two user fields when entering values and doing a view source?
I am using Skilllbuilders modal page 2.0 to edit the form. Sometimes, the end user clicks on the edit link to trigger the modal page and sees the form , but he/she could not do any changes. Thus, when clicking Apply Changes button, we will be redirected to the page 102 ( the empty page ). How can I get around and make the page 102 to close automatically in case I am redirected to it ?
I put this in a JavaScript a dynamic action to be fired as page loads:
table was defined as below & indexes are also created on name /dept columns, data is also available :
create table test ( name varchar2(10), version NUMBER(12), dept varchar2(10) [code].....
Now the requirement is that the parition keys has to be changed to 'dept' from the existing 'version' . How to accomplish this without any implication on the indexes and other constraints.
I have database A (Working in Live environment) and Database B copy of Database (Not live) I have Restored whole database (A) RMAN backup file on Database (B) Previous week now i don't want to change anything in any schema and want to import only updated and new records in the table in Database B
There are around 20 schema If for example i have everything in new database B all required database objects like Procedure, functions, packages with indexes in all tables and data in tables, i just want to add new data and updated data.
I would like to hide/show tabs according to users' page privileges list. So I need get current tab ID or tab Name in runtime environment to know if show/hide it for current user.
We use Apex 4.0.1 and (to simplify) say we have 2 environments: DEV and PROD (both with same workspace ID.)Application 10 is in production, and currently being modified in DEV as part of an improvement project. However a bug is found in PROD and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. The steps we take are:
- Get the version currently in PROD from CVS - Import it under a different application ID in the DEV environment, say application 11. - Fix the bug
Now the problem starts. We always deploy whole applications to other environments (rather than individual components) and we want to keep the same application ID when we deploy this fix to PROD. But we only have the run-time environment in PROD, so it is not possible to override the application ID during deployment. So what we do is:
- Export DEV application 10 (the one being modified) - Export DEV application 11 (the one with the bug fix) - Import DEV application 11 over application 10 - Export DEV application 10 (the one with the bug fix) - Import DEV applicaton 10 back (the one being modified) - Deploy DEV application 10 to PROD (the one with the bug fix)
Is there a way to improve this (other than manually modifying the application ID in the export file)?
Another problem we have is that, once application 10 is imported into application 11, all the internal IDs change (hence the title of this post. :) ) This makes comparing versions in CVS a nightmare. Any way to prevent it? The only way seems to be import the application from PROD into the same application number in DEV, but this has an impact in the development process as no new development can be done until the bug is fixed.
i user javascript to set a item value by a Partial Page Refresh .then i want to turn to another page by a button and Transfer the item's new value to the second page's item, but the value of the item is always teh old value but not de new value, how can i get the new value of the item first.
I notice that version 4.3.0 of AnyGantt was released in Aug/Sep 2012.
Will this version be included in Apex 4.2? If not, would I still be licenced to use AnyGantt 4.3.0 with my Apex apps? If so where can I download it from?
I have installed Oracle 11g XE with Apex 4.2 and I want to upgrade it to the apex 4.2.2. However, I do not have access to My Oracle connect. How do I uninstall apex 4.2 and install apex 4.2.2 full version from OTN?
How can I determine version of oracle database from APEX. Is there any built in table or view is available in APEX? Is it possible from Shared Component?
I try the solution and it works fine but I lost tree functionality that saves tree state (Selected Nod Page Item), value of this item is correct but async operation reset tree state.
if on an interactive report, you try and filter on a date column, then the "=" operator disappears. You get other (not so useful) operators like "in the next", "not in the next" ">", ">=" etc. - but no "=" to be found.
We are planning to upgrade a database from 9.2.0.8.0 to 10.2.0.4.0.We have a lot a PRO*C programs pre compiled using 9.2.0.8.0 (and most likely even 9.2.0.7.0) compiler.
if we could upgrade the database without having to re-compile all the programs. We have tested this approach against some of our programs. Most of them executed fine - but in 2 cases we are getting "ORA-01001 invalid cursor". I suspect, that the case is that Pre compiler version 9 is not supported against 10g databases - but I am not sure.
Would it be a better option to upgrade Pre compiler/client as the first step and the db as the second step (and would that be supported) ? We definitely don't want to upgrade both Pre compiler/Client and the Database in one goal - that would be too risky.
Conn xyz/passwordxyz grant create procedure to 'xyz';
I want to give permissions to my current user 'xyz' , I am able to give permissions to user using system user but Is there any way to grant permissions to user 'xyz' while I am using 'xyz' user.
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TRIGGER1 BEFORE INSERT ON table1 FOR EACH ROW
[code]......
Here , I Want To Insert The Data From My User To Test User . In This Situation When I Execute The Above Trigger It Shows The Error PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
a table structure is modified every now and then because of which the few packages get uncompiled. is there any way to monitor which user has changed table structure.
We have several prod instances and many applications on each of these... and interactive reports saved by many users. Each prod application have its own ID, distinct from the dev application ID.
Until today I used the apex_application_install inside the first wokspace only, and it works fine, but I need to update applications on every instances. It seems the only way to keep a saved report during an update is to use the same application Id (use the app n°200 to overwrite the n°200).So it means the only available method is : release the dev app on the dev workspace ; export 50 apps from it and import those 50 times, maybe more in the future.
My configuration :Oracle Standard or XEApex 4.1.1OHS
