I have an application that I'd like to prevent activity in after a certain time of day, say 3pm. Is there any way I can force logout of all current users and then prevent re-login until 9am the next day (short of deleting all of their login credentials and then recreating them the next morning)?

APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
I've been creating numerous sample applications. In my latest one, I've been working on custom security schema and it's been working great for the most part. The one issue I'm having is passing login values into my application items. Though I don't receive any error messages or anything, upon checking the value of the application items via the session button, they never contain anything. The code I have in place on my login page is as follows:

Im my application, after login, I have a hidden & protected item whose value I am setting based on a logic. Also I would like to access this item's value in a application process, so session will have this value. Now I do not want anybody to be able to change the value of this item. For Eg, if my item was P1_RESP, I was able to change its value in the following way, I have an edit link on somr IR, where I redirect to another page passing some values and the URL looks like : [URL] After the browser loads, I can edit the above URL to below and click enter, [URL]
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have an application that has "After Submit" and AJAX "On-Demand" processes. We need the "After Submit" to fire and complete first, set an application item (by referencing the next value in a sequence), and then fire the "On-Demand" processes. We have the sequence number set accordingly, with all of the "After Submit" processes given a lower (APEX) sequence number than the "On-Demand" processes; however, it seems the "After Submit" processes are still not firing and completing because only intermittently are the "On-Demand" processes able to access the application item's value--80% of the time this value is simply blank. Making matters more complicated is that the application item is derived from an Oracle sequence, so in my "On-Demand" processes, I cannot simply re-run some of the same logic used in one of the "After Submit" processes that sets the sequence--the sequence may only be set once, and only by this "After Submit" process; we have no choice in that regard. Is there any way possible in APEX to 100% force processes to fire AND complete, one after another, in the order in which they are listed by their (APEX) sequence? In other words, if we have this:
(APEX) Seq Name & Process Type
1 process A ("After Submit")
2 process B ("After Submit")--this sets application item :XYZ
3 process C ("On-Demand)--this uses application item :XYZ and MUST have this item value available to do any processing Can we instruct APEX to fire process A, complete it, fire process B, complete it, and only then, fire process C?
We have several interactive reports setup and some of them can display more than one screen of data at a time, depending on the results returned.
All of the reports have prev/next pagination links at the top and bottom of the reports. For the longer reports, if you click prev/next at the bottom of the reprot, the prev/next page will display. But, you will still be at the bottom of the page/screen. Is there a way to force the report to return to the top of the page/screen when prev/next is clicked?
Is there a way to prevent Apex from combining labels into an "other" category in the charts?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Apex 4.2.1 against Oracle 11gR2 and mod_plsql.I've created a page containing two classical reports and an editable tabular form, with the form needing to be positioned at the page bottom.
The tabular form contains the usual buttons Apex creates by default such as "Add Row", "Save", and "Delete". Whenever users click any of these buttons, the entire page "jumps" and the mouse cursor goes to the very top of the page. Very disconcerting as well as frustrating since users must constantly scroll down to where the form is to see if a row was added or deleted.
I have set the tabular form region to "Partial Page Refresh". No effect.I have also created a dynamic action triggered on a button click (say the "Add Row" button) and whose action is to refresh the specific tabular form region. Again, no effect.
Even with both of these interventions, implemented individually as well as in combination, still has my page jumping and the mouse cursor at the top of the page whenever users click any of these form buttons.
how to prevent such screen "jumping"?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am on APEX 4.1.1, db 11g and I have a report which is quite slow to retrieve results from its query. The page has some filter fields (e.g. store code, dept code) in addition to the generic search field.
When the user lands on this page (from a menu page), the query runs before the page displays and this typically takes 1-2 mins without any filters yet set. The usual browser loading indicators are not obvious to the user and they might not be aware that it is working on the request.
I want it so that it will only run the query AFTER allowing the user to get to the page, let the user fill in some filter criteria and then click on the GO button. Therefore the query will run after the page is submitted. When you hit the GO button on the interactive report, a nice rotating apex_loader.gif appears, making it obvious to the user that it is working on the request.
I would prefer NOT to create 2 pages, one for user filter, and a second for the actual report as I have many reports/inquiries which fit this category and I would prefer NOT to have to create pairs of pages for each.
I would like to hide/show tabs according to users' page privileges list. So I need get current tab ID or tab Name in runtime environment to know if show/hide it for current user.

I am creating an application, similar to a Library app, where I have a table that stores Books information (BOOK_ID, BOOK_NAME, etc). I'd like to create another table BOOK_USER with two columns, BOOK_ID and USER_ID. BOOK_ID would refer to the BOOKS table, and I want USER_ID to refer to the table that stores user details of the workspace that I am using. The data entry would happen from a page that has two LOVs, one for book name (using BOOK_ID as the value) and another for user name (USER_ID, or whatever field APEX uses to store user's ID). Can I do that in APEX? I've found ways to access and authenticate a user for a page, but how to get data of all users in the workspace? In other words, how to get all usernames in a LOV?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a functionality on my application that lets the user change their password whenever they want or when the password gets expired.
But to do that, first I need a Branch to the page "Password Change" whenever the login procedure returns "Password Expire", but when the user has an expired password he can't access none of the pages of the application.
My other problem is:
Even if I can get the user to be redirect to the "Password Change" page, I would need a function that validate his current expired password, because in order to alter his own, he would need to inform his current password and the new one he desires. If I was using Apex Authentication that would be very easy I think, but I'm obligate to use Database Account Authentication.
I installed APEX 4.2 over XE 11.2

I am working on an existing application updating it to use custom authentication. When I changed the active authentication scheme APEX created a new login page (121). Why? How do I set it back to the login page I was using previously which I ahve customized somewhat?

The database was on Solaris recently we upgraded to 11.2.0.2 and migrated it to Linux. I have tried [URL]... and the metalink note 1289136.1 with no success.
