Nov 1, 2012I am working on an existing application updating it to use custom authentication. When I changed the active authentication scheme APEX created a new login page (121). Why? How do I set it back to the login page I was using previously which I ahve customized somewhat?

Sep 19, 2012I want my application to provide an end-user with ability to upload the files from their machine to SFTP server directly. So far, I have managed to write the function which uses java source and allows to upload files from the database. It works just fine.
The function looks as follows:

where V_FILE_SRC represents location of the file to be uploaded. The thing is that the FILE BROWSE apex item does not allow to specify the file location, it identifies it somehow automatically, when you press the button 'Choose file'. The question is how can I catch file's path, so that I can pass it to V_FILE_SRC parameter in my function? Should I write my own plugin? or hack FILE BROWSE item? =)

Jul 5, 2013APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??

Is there any way I can force logout of all current users and then prevent re-login until 9am the next day (short of deleting all of their login credentials and then recreating them the next morning)?

Jun 20, 2012I've been creating numerous sample applications. In my latest one, I've been working on custom security schema and it's been working great for the most part. The one issue I'm having is passing login values into my application items. Though I don't receive any error messages or anything, upon checking the value of the application items via the session button, they never contain anything. The code I have in place on my login page is as follows:

Oct 15, 2012I'm using apex 4.1 and create a page with Interactive report with one default primary report and several default alternative report. when i selected one alternative report, how do i know which one is i picked up? it looks obvious to the user but my point is when the user switches to another page, or there are something should change based on the selected report, i want the user see the new page with-in the context of what have selected for that IR report. for example, i have a "summary" report based on year, so the alternative report will be year-2011, year-2012, etc, when user selected this year, 2012, on the same IR page, there is another report based on year 2012, when user selected 2011, that report should show 2011 report.

Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- the field's name in the detail tabular form
Default Type: Item (application or page item name)
Default: P68_FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a field in the master form and also is Date Picker format
Reference Table Owner: SAMPEDRORIVEROS
Reference Table Name: BITACORAABOGADO
Reference Column Name: FECHAREGISTRO -- It's a date field in the database
At execution time I have the error:
report error:ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I think it is because i must use to_date and to_char in order to change the datatype and i have tried using:
Default: to_date(to_char(:P68_FECHAREGISTRO,'DD-MON-YYYY'),'DD-MON-YYYY')
and in Default Type: PL/SQL Expression or Function but I get a different message at execution time:
report error: ORA-01722: invalid number.

Application Express :: Select List Default Value On Page Load
Aug 5, 2013Basically I have a report that as part of it's source sql takes in an element from a select list.
E.G. SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE table_column = : P1_SELECTLIST
This works fine when the user selects an option from the select list however the first time the page runs it always returns data not found. The options correctly appear in the select list as they should without any nulls although it seems the select list is still initializing as null. I have been told to try and add a computation before the header on the select list item, although I'm not sure if this would work/how to do this.?

Sep 11, 2012I am developing a Catalog style application and displaying pictures in an Interactive Report; I can get the Interactive Report to display the Icon view when users visit the report the first time, the report works pretty simply. It has a series of buttons for the Sections of the Catalog and when the user presses the button it fills a hidden item which is in the where criteria of the Catalog, all of this works great with one exception:
When the user clicks the Catalog button and the data in the Interactive Report Changes; the Report changes to "Report View" I would like to maintain the report in "Icon View" only is there a way how I could have the interactive report only show "Icon View".

The page URL.... is blank, or say it better, ... there is nothing visible on that page (no Login-Form)The original GetStarted page from XE Database -> URL.... shows an Error Error Error processing request.ORA-01403: no data found

1. Login Page contains two items
P1_LOGINNAME - Textfield
P1_PASSWORD - Password
2. Data entry form created using page items. - This page is used to create new users
This page contains many items but issue with only two items.
P10_LOGINNAME - Textfield
P10_PASSWORD - Password
These items are used for creating loginname and password for new user. When i am logging with admin user ,Chrome browser prompts for save password or not save password
1. When i am logging with save password option then
LOGINNAME and PASSWORD of Login page is reflecting on the LOGINNAME and PASSWORD of Data entry page.
so how can i clear the LOGINNAME and PASSWORD item on Data entry page after login.I have tried to set blank to these fields after login

Application Express :: Update Default Column Values In Database From Form

I have created a form. Some of the elements are hidden such as updated_by and update_date. I have provided the default values for these attributes as pl/sql expression in the "default section" (Application->page->edit page item). I am using the Process Row process that is automatically created when a form is created.
The problem is when I click the update button, the updated_by and update_date is passed as null values which throws an error from the database.

Nov 15, 2012I am facing this problem, not sure how to solve this. Basically, the default value of the "items" on the page don't get set when the session is cleared and I visit the page for the first time.
So when I check the session for the first time, all page items are null. But when I revisit the page, the page items gets set sometimes.

Mar 27, 2013I need to enable authentication over LDAP SSL. I've configured a wallet (auto login) containing required certificates and set accordingly WALLET_PATH and WALLET_PWD settings using apex_instance_admin.set_parameter method. With this, everything is working fine and LDAP over SSL is working well. It confirms that the wallet is properly configured, valid and usable.
So, the wallet was created with auto login option and it seems to work well without specifying password when calling utl_http.

Oct 23, 2012I am using custom authentication with APEX 4.1.1 and I want to display custom error messages on the login page if authentication fails. In my authentication function I'm using apex_util.set_authenication_result to set a result code (code below).
I've tried to use the apex_util.get_authentication_result on the login page to hide and show custom messages but it's not working. I don't believe the apex_util.get_authentication_result is actually obtaining the result?
