APEX 4.0 Sometimes, I am getting the below error when I tried to logging into APEX workspace (after giving workspace name, User name and password), Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
ErrorERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. I found some threads related to this but in different way not exactly when I am getting this error.
After 2 or 3 times, this error will not come and I can able to logging into workspace What is the cause for this issue??
I have an application that I'd like to prevent activity in after a certain time of day, say 3pm. Is there any way I can force logout of all current users and then prevent re-login until 9am the next day (short of deleting all of their login credentials and then recreating them the next morning)?

The one issue I'm having is passing login values into my application items. Though I don't receive any error messages or anything, upon checking the value of the application items via the session button, they never contain anything. The code I have in place on my login page is as follows:

I've created a system for managing football within APEX and it is at a stage now whereby the user can view any number of the tables through Reports and insert data into these tables through Tabular Forms. Its using triggers and sequences to allow for new primary keys to be generated each time within these Tabular Forms so I'm at a stage now where I'm really quite pleased with it..
The last thing I'm needing to do now is have it update certain fields when certain records are entered.

club1points - 3 (the first club picked up 3 points)
club2points - 0 (the second club picked up 0 points)
The result is then entered into the results table and what I am hoping to achieve at this stage is the following:
1) in the clubs table, the gamesplayed is incremented by 1 for both clubs as a result of playing this fixture
2) club1 has however many goals club1 scored added to its current clubtotalgoals field (in this case, it is of course 2)
3) club1 has however many points club1 earned to its current clubPoints field. (In this case it would be 3)
After SSO Login to APEX Application it directs to Homepage by default,but i need it to direct to particular tab.

I have an application where I'm trying to match skillset supply to skillset demand. We have resources and we have work for resources to do. Resources possess a set of skills. Work requires a set of skills. Skillsets are described by three fields: Domain, Target, Skill. So, we are able to capture the supply of skills in a table:
RSRC_ID (FK to Resource table)
DOMAIN
TARGET
SKILL
PROFICIENCY (this is the skill level 1 to 5)
The relationship of resources to skill supply is 1 to many. Conversely, work demands skills, and so we capture skill demand in a table:
WORK_ID (FK to Work table)
DOMAIN
TARGET
SKILL.
The relationship of work to skill demand is 1 to many also.
Users assign skills to resources using a master-detail form. It works fine

A view then joins the skillset supply to skillset demand so that assignments can be made only where supply and demand match. This view is used in the LOV below.
I am using a mapping table to capture assignments of work to resources or resources to work. It is a many to many mapping of work and resources with matching skillsets, and it looks like this:

SKILL (I've created master-detail forms for the two types of assignments. An LOV in the detail form will present qualified resources or eligible work and then return the appropriate RSRC_ID or WORK_ID, but I must also populate the other three fields (DOMAIN, TARGET and SKILL) before I can insert or update the record. Here's the LOV from the form where resources are assigned to work:

order by 1It is not enough to just match the work to the resource, we must record for what skillset they are matched. I can't seem to see an easy way to populate the three other fields in the tabular form using data that I can retrieve with the LOV.

The scenario is that I have tabular form that was manually created from a collection; the collection name is "COMPANY"
Within this tabular form, I have number of selection lists (apex_item.select_list) and for each, I fire off a JavaScript based on the "onchange" event (e.g.,'onchange="updateCollection(' || seq_id || ', 10, this.value)"'); updateCollection is a custom function I created. Right now, all it does is alert me with the specifics of the of the selection list. As a further example, if I select "Google" from the selection list, sequence id would be "1", attribute number would be "10" and attribute value would be "Google"
Within this JavaScript, I would like to update the value of this associated element in the "COMPANY" collection. Ideally, I would like to directly call this:
APEX_COLLECTION.UPDATE_MEMBER_ATTRIBUTE(p_collection_name => "COMPANY", p_seq => 1, p_attr_number => 10, p_attr_value => 'Google') but I could not figure out how to do this.

I have tried putting the code in the page item under "Post Calculation Computation", as a dynamic action, and as a Computation Process. It displays properly on the form no matter where I put the code, but when I select Apply Changes it is not updating the database. What am I doing wrong? If i give ebs username and pwd means, it is not logging in as it is showing invalid login credentials.
I am working on an existing application updating it to use custom authentication. When I changed the active authentication scheme APEX created a new login page (121). Why? How do I set it back to the login page I was using previously which I ahve customized somewhat?

I have a page which downloads statspack reports from different servers and stores them in APEX. As well as this it also display a summary of data (top 5 wait events & load profile info) when hovering an icon: [URL]... The chart will refresh itself and display the data based on the value of P10_SNAPVAL (storing the PK value). The report does not do as I expect it to do (it isn't refreshing the table). I need to enable authentication over LDAP SSL. I've configured a wallet (auto login) containing required certificates and set accordingly WALLET_PATH and WALLET_PWD settings using apex_instance_admin.set_parameter method. With this, everything is working fine and LDAP over SSL is working well. It confirms that the wallet is properly configured, valid and usable.
So, the wallet was created with auto login option and it seems to work well without specifying password when calling utl_http.

I am using custom authentication with APEX 4.1.1 and I want to display custom error messages on the login page if authentication fails. In my authentication function I'm using apex_util.set_authenication_result to set a result code (code below).
I've tried to use the apex_util.get_authentication_result on the login page to hide and show custom messages but it's not working. I don't believe the apex_util.get_authentication_result is actually obtaining the result?

We are unable to connect our admin account for some unknown reason. We keep receiving the following message "Invalid Login Credentials". We tried to change the admin credentials with sqlplus. We tried the usual procedure "apxchpwd" successfully, but we still cannot log in.We then tried to create a new admin2 account with the following pl/sql block.

I am about to embark on my first APEX development and have got far as the login screen. I disabled JavaScript just to see what would happen if someone had it disable, it turned out by disabling javascript the whole login region dissapeared. I am wondering how to develop the application so it works when javascript is disabled. I am using the cloudy theme. Not sure how to develop the application as its got to work with JavaScript disabled.
I created an externally authenticated user in database. And can login without password with below syntax.

Every thing is working but when we click on button in login form at that time parameter.p_userid will return null. because above code is define on button click in login screen, i cannot understand where i need to define the above code .
Using 11gR2, windows 7 client machine. I need to update the table missing_volume (below), where I need to calculate the estimated_missing column. The calculation of estimated_missing column for current month needs previous month numbers (as commented inside the code below). I want the output like the first table. Notice the records start from January, hence estimated_missing for January can't be calculated, but for the the rest of the months it can be done by simply changing 'yr' and 'mnth' (commented inside the code towards the end).

The code does calculate correct number for 'estimated_missing' as I run the code for each month, but the problem is while updating the current month it also erases the record for previous month. E.g. as can be seen below, after I updated April the column only has the record for April, previous month record is gone, similarly updating March removed February, etc. I can't understand why it's happening!! Here is the output I get:

why it's happening (I mean where is the flaw in the code) and how to get the desired output (first table).
I'm using APEX 4.1 and have implemented a "Copy Record" button that copies selected fields from the record back to the same page to create a new record. This is done using branching and setting the items (e.g., P2_NAME,P2_ADDRESS1,P2_ADDRESS2, etc...) with these values (e.g.,&P2_NAME.,&P2_ADDRESS1.,&P2_ADDRESS2., etc...)
It has worked perfectly in other APEX applications -- up until now. The issue is that the new database contains several fields that contain the "#" character. When the "#" character is encountered during the copying process, any data after the # are not copied (but all of the data before the # are copied OK).
Removing the "#" characters is not an option, as it is part of numerous manufacturer part numbers that we track.
In the login page, I want to add a text "Register" that when clicked will send the user to another page to register.
With a button, its simple because its inbuilt there,but I do not want a button,just this: Register
I want also to have the text in color not black.
