Application Express :: How To Change Language Of Version (integrated With Oracle Database 11g XE)
Apr 4, 2013
I downloaded Oracle Database 11g Express Edition R2 to test Apex (I've never used). I want to know how to change the language of the version of Apex (integrated with Oracle Database 11g XE)? I would apex in French.
I am experimenting with the 4.2 version of Apex at URL.....
I have created a tabular form (based on a view with an instead of trigger) and have restricted this form to "Update only" mode. Whenever I modify a field value and submit the change I get the error "Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process".
How can I determine version of oracle database from APEX. Is there any built in table or view is available in APEX? Is it possible from Shared Component?
I want to translate my application into multiple language,I did this by using translate application option available in shared component. This is working fine for me but ,the messages which is inside PL/SQL procedures are not getting converted.how can I translate those messages.
Now I have a question : I had Application ERP (use Oracle 10g) and another Application PLM(use MSSQL) , I want to integrated this two application, but I do'nt know how to begin ? is this any document can study? Beside , Is Oracle 10.2.0.1 transparent Gateway for MSSQL is free?? or charged? if free , where to download?
I need to converte apex app in welsh language and welsh is supported by apex. What other alternative we take apart from Apex default language translation.
We use Apex 4.0.1 and (to simplify) say we have 2 environments: DEV and PROD (both with same workspace ID.)Application 10 is in production, and currently being modified in DEV as part of an improvement project. However a bug is found in PROD and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. The steps we take are:
- Get the version currently in PROD from CVS - Import it under a different application ID in the DEV environment, say application 11. - Fix the bug
Now the problem starts. We always deploy whole applications to other environments (rather than individual components) and we want to keep the same application ID when we deploy this fix to PROD. But we only have the run-time environment in PROD, so it is not possible to override the application ID during deployment. So what we do is:
- Export DEV application 10 (the one being modified) - Export DEV application 11 (the one with the bug fix) - Import DEV application 11 over application 10 - Export DEV application 10 (the one with the bug fix) - Import DEV applicaton 10 back (the one being modified) - Deploy DEV application 10 to PROD (the one with the bug fix)
Is there a way to improve this (other than manually modifying the application ID in the export file)?
Another problem we have is that, once application 10 is imported into application 11, all the internal IDs change (hence the title of this post. :) ) This makes comparing versions in CVS a nightmare. Any way to prevent it? The only way seems to be import the application from PROD into the same application number in DEV, but this has an impact in the development process as no new development can be done until the bug is fixed.
I notice that version 4.3.0 of AnyGantt was released in Aug/Sep 2012.
Will this version be included in Apex 4.2? If not, would I still be licenced to use AnyGantt 4.3.0 with my Apex apps? If so where can I download it from?
I have installed Oracle 11g XE with Apex 4.2 and I want to upgrade it to the apex 4.2.2. However, I do not have access to My Oracle connect. How do I uninstall apex 4.2 and install apex 4.2.2 full version from OTN?
I tried more to write Bangla in Oracle 10gR1, or 10gR2 or Express but failed. When I write bangla in the "emp_name" field for employee name this can be save, But when I execute to see the data again then the data comes with a big change like some symbol for some character.
I need to change "File Character" when I export application with Apex 4.2.1.00.08 version, but this option, is not possible. The ComboBox already select with
"Unicode UTF-8]', but I need "ISO-8859-1 - Europa Ocidental",
if on an interactive report, you try and filter on a date column, then the "=" operator disappears. You get other (not so useful) operators like "in the next", "not in the next" ">", ">=" etc. - but no "=" to be found.
Is there a way to change the Application Builder theme? There are themes for applications; how about for the builder itself? I looked but did not see a selection for this.
I'm a Geek thru and thru, I guess, but I think you might have to be xxxx retentive to like all these square boxes. And these old eyes have to squint to focus among the vast sea of gray shades.
I'm trying to make changes to a PL/SQL procedure in an application process and no matter what I do in the PL/SQL text (even removing semi-colons and messing up syntax) no changes register when I call the procedure from a page process. I've also tried creating a new application process with a similar procedure of a different name, and no page processes will allow me to call the procedure, saying that it needs to be declared. APEX 4.1.1
We are planning to upgrade a database from 9.2.0.8.0 to 10.2.0.4.0.We have a lot a PRO*C programs pre compiled using 9.2.0.8.0 (and most likely even 9.2.0.7.0) compiler.
if we could upgrade the database without having to re-compile all the programs. We have tested this approach against some of our programs. Most of them executed fine - but in 2 cases we are getting "ORA-01001 invalid cursor". I suspect, that the case is that Pre compiler version 9 is not supported against 10g databases - but I am not sure.
Would it be a better option to upgrade Pre compiler/client as the first step and the db as the second step (and would that be supported) ? We definitely don't want to upgrade both Pre compiler/Client and the Database in one goal - that would be too risky.
I created a table (software defect details) and an interactive report on it. Users can go to the details form where they can manage many information: STATUS is one of them and they can change it or not.
I would like to send an email when SUBMIT botton is pressed only if field STATUS has changed. How can I detect this? I mean, I wrote a procedure in order to send an email and it works, but it runs always: I cannot set it running only when the content of STATUS_ID has changed.
how to understand if a field value has changed and, if possible what the old values was? I know how to do that by using a trigger (:old.status, :new.status) but I don't when using an APEX procedure.
I have a need to change the LOV of a page item's select list based on the selection in another page item's select list. So in other words, for a page item that is a select list, I need to use one LOV normally, and a different LOV if the value of a different page item is set to X.
A dynamic action would be useful here (on change where Select List 1 = x), but I don't know how to take the action of changing LOVsfor Select List 2 based on that action.
I have a requirement in which on Change event of shuttle, the tree present in another region of the same page should refresh. On refresh, the tree should include the values selected on the right hand side of the shuttle as its nodes.
I have a report that comes from SQL Query (updateable report). I'm using the apex_item.text and apex_item.hidden on fields. I'm using a button to submit and after submit process to add some logic that I need.
There could be 1 - 10 records in the report. There is only 1 field that is needed to enter a value, but the value of this field determines the value of another field. I think that I can do this with a submit button and an after submit process where I loop through all the records. I think I have this handled.
This is the question
When the value of that field is changed then the value of another field in the same row changes immediately. All the examples I've seen so far are for a single record and that doesn't work for us.
I guess this is a MRU process but I haven't seen an example where a dynamic action is possible on a Multi Row Update.
If it is possible in Apex 4.2 get interactive report where clause and change it before displaying result e.g. We have an report and for some of columns we should do exact match and for some partial match. And business requirement is that they should not add additional % at the and of search string. It should be added automatically for some fields.
I´m newbie as Apex developer using Apex 4.0 with OracleXE 11.2, and now my problem is:
I have a tabular form where one of the columns, when calling the form, is a Display Item, so that you cannot change existing values.
I want, when adding a new row, that column become a Select List (named LOV) based on a query that exclude existing values in other rows already inserted.
Can I change that Display Item to Select List (named LOV) programmatically at runtime? If not, what other options do I have?
Trying to upgrade APEX within an Oracle XE database installation on Windows 7. The version of APEX that came with Oracle XE is 4.0.2. Trying to upgrade to 4.1.1 and, from the SQL*Plus command-line (ie. the 'Run SQL Command' tool which comes with Oracle XE), I try to run @apexins.sql.
It starts to run momentarily, then the MS-DOS windows just closes. Can not find any install log to determine the cause.
