Application Express :: Update Record In Another Row When Date Changed

As all of you know, In the Apex, when you create a form with report in the page, you are able to insert and edit data. But when you edit the data, the data will be modified in the same row. In other word, you loose the old data.
What I need to do is: I have revised_num field and production_date field. I want to create a form with report and insert and edit data as is in the apex and insert 0 to the revised num until production date is null. But when production date is not null, then from that point, I want to insert data to another row and modify revised num to 1. and I want the revised num be incremented by 1 each time the user modifies the data after the production date is not null.I don't know where I should start.
I have an APEX Page , page no1 for person's details that got fields like name, Date of Birth. When user enters the details, it get saved. Now when we want to edit a person's details, we click on that person then it goes to next page, where we can change/details of the person.But when i tried to do that, i am getting Not a valid month error.. log message shows that it is coming from : Automatic Row Processing (DML)- an after SUBMIT process. Is there a way to avoid this error?I changed date formats for several different ways.

I have created a tabular form (based on a view with an instead of trigger) and have restricted this form to "Update only" mode. Whenever I modify a field value and submit the change I get the error "Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process".
I got a bug related to update information in APEX.
the situation occurs when I go to update a record the button Apply changes disappeared, it shows me only the button create, so when the user click on it, it creates a duplicate.. so how can i have the button "apply changes" back?

Now where i call that QUERY on button ? because when i create button its gives me option to submit, defined dynamic action, etc, where i call the function name id_generation when button pressed?
2- second thing i created tabular " select user_id, product_name, product_type from product".
By default check box list are create delete submit button are created, first when i insert record it saves that was fine, e.g i entered 50 records and afterward i want to update only one record, e.g there is a record product name = box, if i change it to box small and click submit then it saves all the page means all 50 records,
I want to submit only that record that i changed, for that i use the logic that only those records should be updated which are checked but the user. how will i do this ?
I've started using Apex 4.2(new to Apex). I have built a form based on a table with a date column on it. The form allows update on all fields/columns of the base table. For the date field/column, the goal is to present the user with sysdate on load and update the date with sysdate if the record is changed any of the fields. How can I accomplish this?
Had some issues with a page on which i changed the value of an item using javascript and added a dynamic action (dummy pl-sql) that submitted the item. The problem was that if i also used $x_disableItem to disable the item in the function that set the value , the value submitted was always null. However if i used the "Disabled" attribute from the item Settings and remove the calling $x_disableItem in the function, the value submitted is correct.

How can get this value Or any value of item in reports ?
I am using Skilllbuilders modal page 2.0 to edit the form. Sometimes, the end user clicks on the edit link to trigger the modal page and sees the form , but he/she could not do any changes. Thus, when clicking Apply Changes button, we will be redirected to the page 102 ( the empty page ). How can I get around and make the page 102 to close automatically in case I am redirected to it ?
I put this in a JavaScript a dynamic action to be fired as page loads:
Version : 4.1.1, I have a tabular form on a DB table. One of the columns is a date field. When the user hits the "add Row" button on the tabular form, I want the Date field to be defaulted to sysdate. Here is what I have tried so far,
1. Created a "hidden" item P1_SYSDATE and populated the default value with sysdate. After this, under the DB tabular report date field, I used default type - Item/application on this page and entered P1_sYSDATE
2. Instead of populating the default value of the P1_SYSDATE hidden item, I created a before regions process and added
:P1_SYSDATE := sysdate
and added P1_SYSDATE to default type of the tabular date field with default type as "ITem/application on this page.
I get the error
ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I tried to_Char(sysdate,'dd-mon-yyyy') and then converting it back to to_date. still no luck.
I have one requirement.i.e I want to display 'Do you want to save the changes you have made?[YES/NO]' message when record status is changed.In my form if i enter some value to the actual qty(db item) and press 'x' button it does't prompting 'Do you want to save the changes you have made?' message.

WHEN SELECTING THE ITEM THROUGH LOV IT EXECUTES ALL VALUES BUT AFTER CHANGING ANY DATAS THEN NEW RECORD IS CREATED IN THE MASTER TABLE AND NO CHANGES OCCURED TO THE CHANGED RECORD.
We have several prod instances and many applications on each of these... and interactive reports saved by many users.Each prod application have its own ID, distinct from the dev application ID.
Until today I used the apex_application_install inside the first wokspace only, and it works fine, but I need to update applications on every instances. It seems the only way to keep a saved report during an update is to use the same application Id (use the app n°200 to overwrite the n°200).So it means the only available method is : release the dev app on the dev workspace ; export 50 apps from it and import those 50 times, maybe more in the future.

I'm using APEX 4.1 and have implemented a "Copy Record" button that copies selected fields from the record back to the same page to create a new record. This is done using branching and setting the items (e.g., P2_NAME,P2_ADDRESS1,P2_ADDRESS2, etc...) with these values (e.g.,&P2_NAME.,&P2_ADDRESS1.,&P2_ADDRESS2., etc...)
It has worked perfectly in other APEX applications -- up until now. The issue is that the new database contains several fields that contain the "#" character. When the "#" character is encountered during the copying process, any data after the # are not copied (but all of the data before the # are copied OK).
Removing the "#" characters is not an option, as it is part of numerous manufacturer part numbers that we track.
I have created two page process with two buttons "APPROVE" AND "CANCEL" button. first page process running approve invoice procedure on approve button and second page process running cancel invoice procedure on cancel button. i want to display massage before approve invoice and cancel invoice (DO you want to approve invoice) on approve button and (Do you want to cancel invoice on ) cancel button.

I am using APEX 4.0. I have created a master detail page , the business logic is “ We can save master record only if there is at least one detail record exist.”

How to update a form fields which taking a searched value from another table .
I have a form that records student data and which has a drop down to select the 'student registration No' that comes from different table.
When insert or update a student record, first we select the student registration No from drop down to see if he is an existing student.
If he is already registered student then relevant student name and other details should be shown in the form and should be able to enter few other details as well.
I have a form on a table that allows me to edit, delete, or create records. If I choose to edit a record from the report the form get populated correctly and edits or deletes work fine. My problem is when I choose to create a new record. I get a blank form which is what I want, but once I fill it out and click the create button, the automated row fetch fires again and gives me a no data found error. How do I get it to not fire when the create button is pressed?
I have created an application as database authentication.In the application, I have developed a screen based on a tabular form,when I try to update a record ,the record is updated with apex_public_user insted of the database login.
Those SQL reports are built with apex_items. Afterwards I'm updating them with a manual process (apex_application.g_fxx for ..loop). I'm using different IDs on both reports for the apex_items.
It's working fine for the first report displayed. But not for the second one. If I swap the two reports, it's always the first that will be updated.
Does it mean that we cannot use the apex_application to update more than one report and that I have to use a page per report?

I am trying to update a collection and a table.I got some example code and installed on oracle.com, but I just can't seem to get it to work.I always get an errorORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process.I think the problem lies with comparing the checksums, but I cannot spot the mistake
I have a report that comes from SQL Query (updateable report). I'm using the apex_item.text and apex_item.hidden on fields. I'm using a button to submit and after submit process to add some logic that I need.
There could be 1 - 10 records in the report. There is only 1 field that is needed to enter a value, but the value of this field determines the value of another field. I think that I can do this with a submit button and an after submit process where I loop through all the records. I think I have this handled.
This is the question
When the value of that field is changed then the value of another field in the same row changes immediately. All the examples I've seen so far are for a single record and that doesn't work for us.
I guess this is a MRU process but I haven't seen an example where a dynamic action is possible on a Multi Row Update.
I have a procedure I need to feed a number into in order to generate some thumbnails.
I'm trying to automatically update the value every time a new row is inserted but I'm having trouble with the code.

If I run the query SELECT MAX(IMAGE_ID) FROM IMAGES, it returns the last row ID I created just as it should. The create_blob_thumbnail(varInt) procedure works fine if I manually put in a number.
I followed the directions to print a report using this documentation [URL]....where I setup a report query and a report layout and then add the url to a button that when clicked opens up the report in my chosen format. This all work very nicely. However, I need to update the table behind each record that gets printed and I cannot figure out how to couple the print request and an update process in APEX.
