Feb 1, 2012I m using Windows Vista Business 32 bit , Oracle 10.2.0.3
while running my setup so many time i got same error each and every time Error:12560 TNS Protocol Adapter error and it shows me i attached my screen shot with my thread , and remember i already installed earlier but at that time there was no error and successfully installed, i removed the total software before installing and i also removed my environment variable and after getting this Database Configuration Assistant failure there is no service is started regarding my database.. I also tried manually but there also i got some other problem if by Database Configuration Assistant it ll b solved then it ll be good for me.

Mar 28, 2010I've installed without problems Oracle 8.0.5 on WS 2003. After installation I've created 8 databases, with the utility Database Configuration Assistant (dbassist, executed by launch80.exe).
After that, the DBAssist doesn't run anymore.
I've tried EVERYTHING. And I have no success, Im stuck. And I need to create several databases.
TNS Permission Denied?
Jul 12, 2011I can connect to a database instance using toad. But I can not connect to the instance through sqlplus. Its says TNS permisson denied ora-12546. However I can connect to other instances on other machines. If there were any permission issues on client oracle directories then I would not be able to connect to other machines with other instances.
I am using Oracle 11g client on windows 7 64 bit and I am connecting to oracle server Linux 32 bit

RMAN Backups On NFS Device Error - Permission Denied
Nov 25, 2011I receive errors when trying to backup my database (version 9.2.0.2.0) to an NFS device.
I mounted the NFS device in the HP-UX 11.11 server with the folowing comand :
CODEmount -F nfs -o hard,rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,suid,proto=tcp ip_adress:/nfs/RMAN_BACKUPS /rman_backups
the device is succefully mounted.

When i begin a backup with rman i receive the folwing error :

It say permission denied but it is set to drwxrwxrwx and i can create and change any file in the directory.

Windows :: Error / Cannot Delete OCI / Access Denied
Mar 23, 2005I got an error while trying to install Oracle 9i on a Win XP machine. So, I decided to wipe out Oracle completely and starting again. I deleted all the Oracle entries from the registry and then tried deleting the folder. But while doing that, I am getting the following error - "Cannot delete oci:Access denied"
The disk is neither write-protected nor is the oci.dll file in use.
ILM Assistant :: Unable To Get List Of All The Tables Of Oracle EBS R12 Database?
May 13, 2013I am trying to attach lifecycle definitions to tables of Oracle EBS R12 database, using the "Refresh table list" option of ILM assitant.
Though its showing the refresh job running to completion, but its not displaying the list all of tables.
Tried it with narrowing the search for a single schema but no luck.
how to get the list of all tables or at least list of tables belonging to a schema in Oracle EBS R12.

Feb 6, 2013I have installed oracle 10g in D drive . The installation says it is successful, without asking the database name or the password . I have followed the steps given in the attached file .
However it is not asking the database name or password ( no configuration set up is appearing for the user to interact with the system ) . So, after installation I can not give the username and password .

I want know how to check which userid revoked it.

Nov 19, 2012I recently installed 2 node Oracle 11g RAC on RHEL5. While creating Clustered Database, database creation on second node (racnode2) failed. So, I connected */ as sysdba* on the node and executed startup only to get this error message:

I strongly believe it is a permission issue that ORACLE owned processes are not able to access disks owned by GRID user. I checked the permission of disks:

Stress Test Of A Database In 2 Configuration
Sep 13, 2013i've perform a stress test of a database in 2 configuration :
1) Single instance 11.2 with 8gb Sga e 4gb Pga on Linux, 6core with instance caging =4, resource_manager=defaut_plan
2) 2 Nodes Rac 11.2 with 8gb Sga e 4gb Pga in both nodes on Linux, 32core with instance caging =4, resource_manager=defaut_plan.
I've used Swingbench and the transaction per minute are equal, Avg transaction per s in rac are Greater then single instance (4ms vs 40ms).I know that rac is not for high performance.My question is: is rac config best than single instance and if yes what is the %?

XE :: Ubuntu 12.04 11g Database Configuration Failed ORA-01034 And ORA-27101
Jun 27, 2012My problem is if i start sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure i get Database Configuration failed. Look into /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/config/log for detailsI use a plain installed Ubuntu 12.04 and try the instructions of the Oracle 11gR2 Express Edition on Linux Ubuntu 11.10 howto. Also i installed Ubuntu 11.10 and tryed is, but the same error happens.
On the install script i get:
