I have the following control table.
ID S_OWNER SOURCE_TABLE A_OWNER ARC_TABLE CONDITION_COLUMN PERIOD_VALUE PERIOD_UNIT

Like this 1000 entries are there in the control_table.
I want to pass all the columns from my control table dynamically.I am able to pass all the columns dynamically,except the PERIOD_VALUE.I have stucked up how to implement this condition.My aim is to get the data which is <= sysdate-PERIOD_VALUES based on PERIOD_UNIT.
For Example:
For Auction_date column I want to get the data which 15 days old.
For Sales_date column I want to get the data which 180 days old.
For Account_date column I want to get the data which 2 yers old.
For Last_update_date column I want to get the data which 4 months old.

i am trying to pass operators dynamically.
SQL> create table test(Amount number,Name varchar2(10));
Table created.
SQL> insert into test values(100,'USA');
1 row created.
SQL> insert into test values(150,'NEWYORK');
1 row created.
SQL> insert into test values(200,'SCOTT');

I would like to pass the operators from another table. How to pass the operators from other table.

I want to pass Number of columns dynamically to a query. I got success in SQL.
SQL> select &column_list from emp;

I want to run multiple sql select command after loggin to sqlplus and need to pass the value to variable to check the condition.
When I am running the below script I am getting the below error

I am working on 6i reports.I have below scenario to achieve.
I have FIND window and MAIN Window.
FIND Window: contains EMPNO, ENAME,and FIND button.
MAIN WINDOW: EMPNO, ENAME, SAL, JOB
If i enter something in FIND window, by clicking FIND button, it will populate data in MAIN window.I have below query in WHEN BUTTON PRESSED TRIGGER.

and ename=nvl(:FIND.ename,ename)

It's working fine.
REQUIREMENT: i want to pass where statement dynamically. Let us say if i pass only empno in FIND window, i want to pass 'WHERE empno=:FIND.empno' to existing select statement [I will keep select statement same without where condition]
If i pass empno and ename both, i want to pass 'WHERE empno=:FIND.empno and ename=:FIND.ename.
How to pass where condition to existing select statement based on parameters we pass in FIND window.

1) how to pass date from .net using odp.net to oracle database for storage. so that it should not be affected if any one changes os(windows xp or 2003 /2008 server) date formate.
database and application both are on different server and can be on same server also. so if any one keeps different date formate on both OS then it should not get affected.

I have created a stored procedure that checks if a file exists and gets a date from the file if it exists. The date is then used as a paramter. See below:

The above codes works perfectly and I scheduled it using SQLPLUS as follows:

My problem is that I need to pass the date from the above procedure as a parameter to another stored procedure. So I modified my code as follows (the parts in red):

Now it doesn't strike me as a rights issue since I created it in the schem schema. What could I be doing wrong here?

i am fetching data from excel all data is of general type, here i am passing value is VTDATE varchar2(100) but actual database column filed is DATE , How can i pass '13-06-13 05:54:33' to database table.
if i put this condition
vcInsert:=vcInsert|| ','||''''||i_ldata(i).to_char(VTDATE,'DD-MM-RR HH12:MI:SS')
i get the error
to_char must be declare.
if i remove this line
i am getting this error ORA-01843: not a valid month

I have a table structure and data as below.

Now here i want to fetch data having condition as
PRODUCTIONDATE >= Monday of current week
so i would skip only first two rows and will have to get all rows.
I tried using below condition but it would give not give data for 2013 values.
to_number(to_char(to_date(PRODUCTIONDATE,'yyyymmdd'),'IW')) >= to_number(to_char(sysdate, 'IW'))

i'm trying to do an export/import process using command prompt and the idea is export a records based on the date condition. and the date will be the parameter. my code is like this:
exp <username>/<password>@<database> file=<table_name>.dmp tables=<source_table> query="where <date> between &start_date AND &end_date";
is it possible to do like this, that it should prompt you to enter the start and end date?
then my import script:
imp <username>/<password>@<database> dumpfile=<table_name>.dmp tables=<target_table>;
the idea is get only the records from ProdDB based on the date condition, and append it to the MISDB.

As you can see, it's split the entries into date ranges. If there is a 'lone' date, the 'period start' and the 'period end' are the same date.

In a pl/sql procedure code, I created a normal table (create table) using dynamic sql. Then I used that table in procedure for further processing. But while compiling, it gave error that table does not exist. I can understand that he table is not present in DB, so the error came. But at the same time I need to create a table dynamically, use it and drop it. Does it mean that I need to make every query referencing that table as dynamic ??

I want pass the tablename to cursor. The tablename will be a dyanamic one, as we have the data in different sources tables[multiple systems - all systems will provide the data dump to oracle] with same set of columns.
I have inserted all the tablenames in a parameter table and based on conditions daat should be fethced from each system.
I need to pass the tablename to the cursor to fetech the coloumn list from the table(the table that is passed as parametr).

Do I have to hard code the url in the cursor and stored in a variable so I can check that the url coming in (url in varchar2) is equal to the url in my cursor? The same with the key?

Version : 4.1.1, I have a tabular form on a DB table. One of the columns is a date field. When the user hits the "add Row" button on the tabular form, I want the Date field to be defaulted to sysdate. Here is what I have tried so far,
1. Created a "hidden" item P1_SYSDATE and populated the default value with sysdate. After this, under the DB tabular report date field, I used default type - Item/application on this page and entered P1_sYSDATE
2. Instead of populating the default value of the P1_SYSDATE hidden item, I created a before regions process and added
:P1_SYSDATE := sysdate
and added P1_SYSDATE to default type of the tabular date field with default type as "ITem/application on this page.
I get the error
ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I tried to_Char(sysdate,'dd-mon-yyyy') and then converting it back to to_date. still no luck.

When I run a query form the the Query Window in Visuial Studios 2012 all the date fields truncated to 'mm/dd/yyyy', but i need the full date returned. I am able to get full date from TO_char(MyDateField, 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss'), but if I do TO_DATE(MyDateField, 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss') it only returns 'mm/dd/yyyy'. I'm sure this is a simple setting in Visual studios but I cant find it to save my life. Is there there a way to have the full date returned by default?

We have an requirement to create xml data for entire database (selected tables) which are in hierarchy.Procedure should read node_mapping table having parent and child tables relationship info and build XML Select statement.
Currently it is building SQL statement whenthere are one parent having multiple childrens i.e Dept having emp, emp_act, emp_rsch..but when child node are having childrens then it is not working - it has to repeatedly call this procedure (recursive) and build below given SQL statement.
1. To change procedure to build xml sql statement when there are multiple childrens to child nodes (hierarchy)
2. To format the output in xml data
We are using ORACLE 11G and WINDOWS 7
