Application Express :: Tree View On Application Builder Not Showing
Jul 16, 2012
I have some applications on Apex public workspace (apex.oracle.com), and suddenly the Tree View, on Application Builder stopped showing any content. If I select "Component View", I see the page components, but if I switch to tree view, it shows me only some empty frames.
Is there a way to change the Application Builder theme? There are themes for applications; how about for the builder itself? I looked but did not see a selection for this.
I'm a Geek thru and thru, I guess, but I think you might have to be xxxx retentive to like all these square boxes. And these old eyes have to squint to focus among the vast sea of gray shades.
How can I search the tree with a given string?I don't find any function like "search(...)".I want to find the tree nodes which include the given string.
I have a requirement in which on Change event of shuttle, the tree present in another region of the same page should refresh. On refresh, the tree should include the values selected on the right hand side of the shuttle as its nodes.
Ive created a tree structure and i want it to popup the called page.select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
when level = 1 then 1 else -1 end as status, level, '<SPAN style="color:red;">' || "ENAME" || '</SPAN>' as title, (case when level = 1 then '#IMAGE_PREFIX#Fndtre11.gif' [code]....
So as luck would have it my Win XP OS crashed. Yes, its the office laptop and I cannot upgrade the OS for now. Anyhow, I got the whole machine re-imaged and installed 10g which had version 2.1 and everything was okay. I was earlier running apex 4.1.1. I could not find that setup on the oracle site so I downloaded apex 4.2 and ran the installation as per page

Everything went through properly except for step
5. Log back into SQL*Plus (as above) and load images:
SQL> @apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME
[Note: APEX_HOME is the directory you specified when unzipping the file. For example, with Windows 'C:'.]
where it asked me to enter the directory and I entered C:
This is what happened
SQL> @apxldimg.sql
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
Enter value for 1: C: old 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as '&1/apex/images' new 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as 'C:/apex/images'
Directory created.
^C C:apex>
I see a backslash and forward slash so I did a ctrl c . When I tried running the command again - @apxldimg.sql
it just would open the .sql file.
Not sure if this is the issue, but anyhow, after this, when I tried the "go to database page. It just shows a blank page. I was happy with 4.1.1. Is that available anywhere? Maybe I can remove XE and do a fresh install with that.
I have a table with about 15-20 constraints and when I look up the tables constraints in SQL workshop, I can only see 10 constraints. Not sure if its a bug or I need to configure something, somewhere to make it show alll my constraints. I can see all constraints by querying the user_constraints view.
I try the solution and it works fine but I lost tree functionality that saves tree state (Selected Nod Page Item), value of this item is correct but async operation reset tree state.
I have a classical report with a column as "Affirmation Status". This column can take three value as "Affirmed, Rejected or NA". My requirement is I have to show all row in one color like red wherever it has value affirmed, and all row in color like green wherever it is rejected.
How i can show the new added rows to tabular form after submit? what I want is to show my customer new added rows that recently added. but according to how I sort the tabular form, the new added rows distributed in multi pagination in tabular form. I'm not good in English, excuse me for my mistakes. I use apex 4.2.0 On Oracle 11g r2 on windows Server 2008
- Convert 2nd Level Tabs of (Bluejay-22 Theme) to be Drop-Down Menus as in (Application Builder Theme)
- Where can I find documentation for app_AppMenuMultiOpenBottom3
Current Situation
- Only the first level tabs are converted to match the (Application Builder Theme).
- The Drop-Down menus of the second level tabs are not working
Steps tried
1) link the following CSS's into the Header section of the Page Template of (Bluejay-22) <link rel="stylesheet" href="/i/css/apex_builder.min.css?v=4.2.0.00.27" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/i/css/apex_ui.min.css?v=4.2.0.00.27" type="text/css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/i/css/apex_ui_builder_home.css" type="text/css" />2) link the following Scripts into the Header section of the Page Template <script type="text/javascript">
i had an issue last week with enabling and disabling a column in a tabular view. and i have it working now.... when the page loads i disable the column in the 25 rows being displayed.
the problem i now have is when i use the pagination to move through the rows the columns are all now enabled.
so what i am trying to do is this:
i have a tabular view showing 25 rows at a time. there is one column with a code and one with a description. when the code is changed, via a popup LOV, the description is changed based on the valus in a lookup table in the database.
i need the description column disabled, so the user cannot simply just type in the column. but when the page is submitted, the column needs to be enabled so i have modified the sumbit button to respond to a dynamic action which runs some enabling code then submits the page.
SO.... this all seems to be working except for when you use the pagination, the description column is all enabled.
is there a way of running some javascript when the pagination is refreshed? some better way of doing it?
I am developing a Catalog style application and displaying pictures in an Interactive Report; I can get the Interactive Report to display the Icon view when users visit the report the first time, the report works pretty simply. It has a series of buttons for the Sections of the Catalog and when the user presses the button it fills a hidden item which is in the where criteria of the Catalog, all of this works great with one exception:
When the user clicks the Catalog button and the data in the Interactive Report Changes; the Report changes to "Report View" I would like to maintain the report in "Icon View" only is there a way how I could have the interactive report only show "Icon View".
APEX Builder page 4000:37 List view shows name, notes and download columns. The name column should link through to CSS Edit page (39), but instead downloads the file. Workaround: Switch to the icon view, and click on the icon which takes you to the CSS edit page. Can the APEX team correct this, as switching to icon view is not intuitive.
I have a number of pages that use the page template "*One Level Tabs - Content Frame*".End users that use Internet Explorer (versions 8 and 9), when they first visit the application their browser displays it in Compatibility View.They cannot see the side bar on the right-hand side, meaning that often they cannot see a lot of necessary buttons and info!
Their page displays as below: URL....
I am not sure it is possible, nor good practice, to force the app to display in non-compatibility mode.Is there a way to enhance their experience? Or another workaround?
At the moment I am waiting until they log an issue and then informing them to turn compatibility view off, or to use Chrome or Firefox. I'd like to make it better from my end!
create table test_pc (event_id number(10), parent_event_id number(10)); insert into test_pc values(2001,null); insert into test_pc values(1006,null); insert into test_pc values(1004,null); insert into test_pc values(2002,2001); insert into test_pc values(1001,2002); insert into test_pc values(1002,1001); insert into test_pc values(1003,2005);
In order to derive parent child relationship I have ran the following query :
select * from test_pc start with parent_event_id is null connect by nocycle prior event_id = parent_event_id;
It is giving all the records except the last one (i.e. event_id = 1003 and parent_event_id = 2005), because the parent_event_id does not exists in the table.
But my requirement is to show all the record, i.e. if the parent_child relationship is present then show accordingly and also show the rest of the records where the parent_child does not exists even the parent_event_id exists.
In Apex 4.2 Jquery mobile list view how can you apply html format for the phone# field to make it dial with a touch. For example, I see how to do a list view of the 'DEMO_CUSTOMER' sample data, but I cannot figure out how to format the phone # fields so that they will dial on touch. I know the HTML tags to use and I know how to use it in a standard report, but I can't figure out list view.
We converted our Power builder application from Oracle 10g to Oracle 11g. We are getting very slow to retrieveing data from the server.Basically we have noticed the following system internal sqls taking more time during our sql calls.
My schema Name : CMATISPROD Oracle Version : 11.2.0.2.0
Indexes are moved separte table space.how to resolve this problem.
SELECT index_name, uniqueness FROM SYS.all_indexes WHERE table_owner = 'CMATISPROD' AND table_name = 'EXPRESSIONS'; * Formatted on 2011/12/15 14:19 (Formatter Plus v4.8.0) */
I having some weird trouble with my cursor results. My cursor query returns some rows in which one of the called CUT_TEXT2 returns some text msg as per my decode statement. With the result of that value I am sending some emails.when I execute the cursor in toad it is fetching exact values what I wanted. But When I registered the same program in Oracle EBS R12 as a concurrent program it is giving wrong results.
For ex : PERSON_ID = 18906 has CUT_TEXT2 (col) = CUT_TEXT2 value. In application the same person id has (18906) CUT_TEXT2 = NO_ALERT .. which is failing my program.
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY apps.xx_hr_probation_alert_new IS PROCEDURE alert_probation_f_new ( errbuf OUT NOCOPY VARCHAR2, errcode OUT NOCOPY NUMBER, notification_type VARCHAR2
My scenario is I need to insert into History table when a record is been updated into a tabular form(insert the updated record along with the additional columns Action_by,Action_type(Like Update or delete) and Action Date Into History table i.e History table contains all the records as the main table which is been visible in tabular form along with these additional columns ...Action_by,action_type and action_date.
So now i dont want to create a befor/after update trigger on base table rather i would like to create a generic procedure which will insert the updated record into history table taking the page alias and pade ID as the parameters(GENERIC procedure is nothing but whcih applies to all the tabular forms(Tables) contained int he application ).
We have integrated Oracle Access Manager 11gR1 with Oracle Apex 4.1. The OAM-Apex integration is working fine. Now we want an additional header variable to be passed from OAM to the Apex application. This new header variable will be user's sAMAccountName in Active Directory. OAM is integrated with AD and the AD users are successfully able to access the Apex applications.
The three header variables which are configure in OAM right now are: Header variable name Value 1. OAM_REMOTE_USER $user.userid 2. OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL $user.attr.mail 3. OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS $user.groups
We need an additional header variable as mentioned below: Header variable name: OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME Value: $user.attr.samaccountname
The new header variable was added in the OHS server's dads.conf file like shown below: =========== dads.conf ============= ... PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
But we are not able to read the value of this attribute in the Apex application.On the Apex application, we have a text box which shows the value of this header variable. This textbox is attached with the following stored procedure call to fetch the header variable: =================== begin :P1_HEADER_VALUE := owa_util.get_cgi_env( 'HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME' ); end;
The textbox shows the correct value if HTTP_OAM_REMOTE_USER is passed to the get_cgi_env method but does not shows anything when HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME is passed to the same method. if I am missing some configuration to pass the HTTP_OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME haeder variable from OAM to Apex.
I have multiple application set-up using session sharing within the workspace.Technically all works fine, however it does not play nice with user behaviour.
Example: Users logs into APP_ID:100. Since he isn't authenticated yet, he provides user/pass and the APP_SESSION is authenticated. Now if the user switches using to another application (using a link provided in application 100) he gets redirect to APP_ID:101:APP_SESSION all is fine.
The session is already authenticated, the application shares the session and the user gains access to app 101 without having to authenticate again. All's fine!
However users don't behave they way. Instead of using an easy link in the application. They will use their own bookmark or type in the url for app 101 manually. That way the next application is either called with f?p=101:1:[SOME OLD SESSIONID FROM BOOMARK] or f?p=101 (with no further page or session info) In both cases instead of using the already authenticated session apex spawns a new session, which of course isn't authenticated yet thus forcing the user to authenticate and come complaining they have to login again.
Similar behaviour problems exists when the user opens a browser and tries to open both applications in each in a tab next to each other.Both tabs fetch there own initial session id and start writing it to the same cookie each in turn invalidating the other tab's session.These can lead to some fanatic ping pong actions. Thus it's impossible to open 2 applications sharing session in the same browser.
Is there any remedy for these situations?Can apex be as smart as for instance first trying to resume the session stored in the cookie and only if that session is invalid, start a new session?
