Application Express :: Stop Submission Of Process On Refresh Page
Jun 25, 2013I used to have a button, that called an after submit page process and everything ran fine.The page had loads of buttons, so I got rid of the buttons and created a list instead.I have an entry in a list. Target Type: Page, Page 1, Request is set to RUN_PLAN.This calls a before header page process with a condition of Request = Exp1 and Exp1 is set to RUN_PLAN. When the user clicks the list item, the process is run. This works fine.I also have a report on this page.As the process runs, it is updating a table.The user needs to watch this process running (via the report), so they need to keep refreshing the page.The problem is, that when they refresh the page via the browser refresh button the process is called again. How can I stop the process from running, every time the user refreshes the page.

Mar 26, 2013I'm using Apex 4.2. On click of a button, I refresh 2 Standard Region Reports with a Dynamic Action. This dynamic action has been working without problems for WEEKS and all of a sudden i'm getting the ORA-20876: Stop APEX Engine error when I click the button.
In the dynamic action, I removed the refresh of the second report and now the error does not occur. If I add the second refresh action back in, it throws the above error. I've even tried making the second report identical to the first and the refresh action fails. why this is failing on the second refresh action since the second report & region is IDENTICAL to the first report now.

Application Express Listener :: 2.0 Configured But Can't Start In Standalone Mode
Feb 25, 2013I am trying to use the Apex listener 2.0 (instead of HTTP server). I installed and went thru the configuration of the listener, but I must be missing something. When I do the java -jar apex.war to start it up in standalone mode, I get the configuration properties etc., but when I open up my browser and try to bring up APEX with http://localhost:8080/apex/ I get a 500 - Internal Server error with the info below.

Express Edition (XE) :: Oracle 11g R2 Doesn't Start?
Sep 3, 2013I am running Ubuntu 13.04. I am attempting to install Oracle XE 11g R2. It seems that everything was fine until I got to configuration of the database as root I ran /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure command. I have received the following output
Starting Oracle Net Listener...Done
Configuring database...
Database Configuration failed. Look into /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/config/log for details
When I look at the logs I get the following error ORA-01034: ORACLE not available. After receiving this error I have attempted to start Oracle manually.

Way To Start Oracle Database 10g Express Edition On Fedora
Sep 29, 2007am having problems starting Oracle Database 10g Express Edition on Fedora. Here is what I did in order to start it:
[root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start
[root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# xhost +
access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
Not sure what I am doing wrong here.
Express Edition (XE) :: Oracle Doesn't Start Correctly With 3G Router
Oct 7, 2013I have used a HUAWEI dongle directly connected to my PC. First, the operating system and Oracle start up, then I connect to the internet using the Huawei Mobile Partner utility. Any application can connect to Oracle and use it correctly. All OK. Now I have added a 3G router which is connected to the PC by ethernet cable and has the Huawei dongle connected to a USB port on the router. All works correctly if I follow the sequence:
1) Start the PC with the router switched off, and wait until Oracle has fully started.
2) Power the router up and wait 2 minutes until Windows says the 100 Mb ethernet link is open. Oracle.exe in Task Manager is about 210 Mb, and sometimes more, depending on activity.
However, if I switch on the router first and then start the PC, Oracle does not start correctly. It rejects connection requests forever more, indicating Network Adapter could not establish the connection: Code 17002.In Task Manager Oracle.exe occupies only 145Mb. What can I do to get it to start correctly ? I can dig into Listener.ORA, TNSNAMES.ORA and HOSTS without any problems, and have often modified them manually (not the case here), but logs and traces escape me !

Jun 5, 2012I'm trying to install Oracle 10g Enterprise Ed. (on Windows 2003 Std. Ed) and I get some errors:
First “Fail to start OCR” I press "continue" and the installation continue. Next “Operative System Error when start OracleCSService” and when I press "continue" the installation finish.
At the end of installation, It seems like Oracle DB is Ok, but not really...I can't connect to database from Enterprise Manager and the OracleCSService is in "Starting mode".

Mar 4, 2013We have integrated Oracle Access Manager 11gR1 with Oracle Apex 4.1. The OAM-Apex integration is working fine. Now we want an additional header variable to be passed from OAM to the Apex application. This new header variable will be user's sAMAccountName in Active Directory. OAM is integrated with AD and the AD users are successfully able to access the Apex applications.
The three header variables which are configure in OAM right now are:
Header variable name Value
1. OAM_REMOTE_USER $user.userid
2. OAM_REMOTE_USER_EMAIL $user.attr.mail
3. OAM_REMOTE_USER_GROUPS $user.groups
We need an additional header variable as mentioned below:
Header variable name: OAM_SAMACCOUNTNAME
Value: $user.attr.samaccountname
The new header variable was added in the OHS server's dads.conf file like shown below:

Application Express :: Multiple Application Setup Using Session Sharing Within Workspace
Jan 24, 2013I have multiple application set-up using session sharing within the workspace.Technically all works fine, however it does not play nice with user behaviour.
Example:
Users logs into APP_ID:100. Since he isn't authenticated yet, he provides user/pass and the APP_SESSION is authenticated.
Now if the user switches using to another application (using a link provided in application 100) he gets redirect to APP_ID:101:APP_SESSION all is fine.
The session is already authenticated, the application shares the session and the user gains access to app 101 without having to authenticate again. All's fine!
However users don't behave they way. Instead of using an easy link in the application. They will use their own bookmark or type in the url for app 101 manually. That way the next application is either called with f?p=101:1:[SOME OLD SESSIONID FROM BOOMARK] or f?p=101 (with no further page or session info) In both cases instead of using the already authenticated session apex spawns a new session, which of course isn't authenticated yet thus forcing the user to authenticate and come complaining they have to login again.
Similar behaviour problems exists when the user opens a browser and tries to open both applications in each in a tab next to each other.Both tabs fetch there own initial session id and start writing it to the same cookie each in turn invalidating the other tab's session.These can lead to some fanatic ping pong actions. Thus it's impossible to open 2 applications sharing session in the same browser.
Is there any remedy for these situations?Can apex be as smart as for instance first trying to resume the session stored in the cookie and only if that session is invalid, start a new session?

When I was looking through various threads and guides, I've encountered checkbox corresponding array names like "g_f01" - "g_f50". And so far i saw that these names are derived from item name in generated HTML code, for example:
<input type="checkbox" name="*f10*" value="3" />
And this one stands for array name "g_*f10*".However, when I tried to do the same thing - i receive item name which looks like "*p_v04*", and therefore, I can't figure out, which array name should I choose to adress it properly.

Nov 4, 2013Each time when I import an application into my workspace in local 10g XE using the APEX 4.2 Application Builder, I get the "ORA-02291, constraint wwv_flows_fk violated..". The application I whant to import was originally exported from [URL]. I found out, that it has to to with wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id in the installation script, which obviously returns NULL and not my current workspace id as I suppose it should. I replaced wwv_flow_application_install.get_workspace_id by '<my worskspace id>' and then the import does work.

I had an error importing an application into Production that was exported from Development. The application exists and I was trying to replace it.
The error I received was:

Unless I'm not understanding this error it means that it can find the ACTION part that is attached to the WHAT part of this Dynamic Action? The Dynamic Action does work when the application is run (in Development)also, there are 3 others that are similar to this one. The export was created by the export utility in the Application Builder.
If I export only the page and import that into Production the import is successful and the page runs correctly. This is error is happening only when I try to import the entire Application.There are many other changes made which is why I was trying to do an Application export/import instead of individual pages.

Presently the form looks something like this and the Data for each field is rendered properly in this layout:
