Application Express :: Add Field In Page Title Or Repeat Header On Each Print Page
Jun 4, 2013We are using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 on Wondows XP and Oracle version is 10g. I've created a report in APEX and the user is insisting on putting a header on each page in PRINT of the report which should contain the "from date" and "to date", which are present on the select criteria on top.
Can I somehow add from_date and to_date items in Title so that when they print the report, they'll see the from and to dates in the title?Or is there someother way to do this. The report is an interactive report with a control break and user prints the report with file->print.
Application Express :: How To Display 4.2 Chart Region Title Dynamically
Aug 21, 2013i I am using APEX4.2 and created
(1) a drop down list item called P38_DESK which contains a list of desks such as A, B, C
(2) a Chart region with region title: Chart Mvt by &P38_DESK.
(3) a dynamic action to "refresh" the Chart region if the value of P38_DESK is changed.
I can see that everytime the desk is changed from the drop down list, the chart section/region gets refreshed accordingly but NOT the Chart's region title.
It only showed the first value I chose. e.g. Chart Mvt by A So in APEX4.2, how can the CHART's region title be changed dynamically ( without submitting the entire page ) to reflect the value from the drop down list P38_DESK ?

I need to change a value of status field which is in page 1 to Say p100_status ... I think i might have to use application items to accomplish this.. So i Use the following method..

Oct 14, 20121. I m building a form in which students will file some data (name, address, etc) but i want to send a parameter on the URL i send them (their student ID number), which will be saved together with the data the end-users save.
e.g the form i m building is [URL]
can i add in the end of the URL the student_id of the end of the URL?
so it will be something like [URL]
So when student #10 will hit the URL on his browser, once he inputs hsi data and press SAVE button, on the database i can save STUDENT_ID=10 and the rest info he just entered?
2. Which is the login URL for end users? i have only the workspace login now..

I have a table which contain 3 columns, see below:
id primary key
pic1 blob
pic2 blog
there is 1 row in it(id=1), just for display 2 images.
Uploaded 2 images into above Blob fields by file browse function. Now, I want to show the 2 pictures in a Region by using display image item P1_AR, but it didn't work.
Based on: BLOB Columns specified in item source
Alternative Text Column: null
Filename Column: null
BLOB last update Column: nullSource used: Only when current value in session state is null
Source type: SQL Query(return single value)
Source value or express: select dbms_lob.getlength(PIC) from cp_pic where id=1
I got the error below after runing:
ORA-20999: P1_AR has to have a valid BLOB column as source
Application Express :: Display No Results Found In APEX Page
Sep 5, 2013I have a page with two regions the top region is an html region where users enter query criteria and generate an interactive report in the second region. The second region only displays if there are results from the query in the first region.
I would like to display a "No Results Found" message rather than a blank screen if there are no results found. However, I don't know exactly how to do that. I tried to do it in the Interactive Report region, however, once I added the Conditional display to only when exists rows in the Interactive Report from the query criteria.

By clicking on a button on my page, I execute a Dynamic Action. That Dynamic Action consists of several True Actions, one of which is Execute PL/SQL code where I execute a procedure. I'm doing this without submitting the page, and that works fine.
However, I would like to display an error message on the top of the page, in case my procedure returns an error, and I would like to do that without submitting the page.
Is this possible?

Let me explain the scenario which is not working.A Modal region which is having a file browse item based on WWV_FLOW_FILES and a button called add file.
When I click on add file it display a blank page and in the URL I could see [URL]...But actually it inserted file in the table.
I have put wwv_flow* in Listener Configuration for allowed procedures.I have another page where I have a page item which is based on BLOB column specified in item source attribute. And that is inserting file and displaying the pages correctly.

Sep 7, 2012I would like to have a table in HTML region and to display in the table some Page Items from the page.
I got the code like this:

It shows the Page Item names as text, not the values. However this code without the table tags:

works and the Page Item values are displayed.
Is it possible to display the Page Item values in the HTML table at all or I have to use a different method of showing the values in a table? The above is only a snippet of the code. I need to display about 30 Page Items, formatted in a table with headings.
what kind of region is the best to be used or if I should only use some escape symbols in the table code.

Oct 24, 2012I've edited the XML on the Chart Attributes page but I don't find atrtributes to rotate the y-axis title (<text>TITLE</text>) nor the letters themselves in the title. What I'd like is something very close to

But what I get is a horizontal title rotated -90 degrees. I've looked at lots of Anychart documentation but don't find anything that seems to fit with the XML already given on the Chart Attributes page. I've seen the "rotate" attribute but I don't know where it would go and even then, I'm sure it only rotates the title as a unit and not the individual letters.

I have a submit button (this works fine) that will issue the ALTER USER... statement to reset the user's password and unlock the account. I have another button that should:
get the value of the username - P8_USERNAMEassign it to an application item - FIND_USER_IN_DBredirect to page in application - to page 11
The issue is that FIND_USER_IN_DB does not get populated and page 11
which is a simple report with the following query:
SELECT *FROM valid_dbWHERE username = :FIND_USER_IN_DB;
How do I accomplish this?

Aug 21, 2012how to use APEX_ITEM.text for where the source for this comes from user input values and not for an underlying table.I have a report where three columns are coming from an actual table (one being a checkbox for selection) but then also have two additional fields on the screen that are not from a table but placeholder fields for user's to enter data.
For example, my query looks like this:

So Notes database field is updated on Save / Apply changes button being pressed.But would really like any text added / appended to the Notes field to be prefixed by userid and date / timestamp.
Is it possible via dynamic actions or Javascript to have any new text added / typed to be auto prefixed as per above.
Would only want the first key press in the filed to trigger the auto-prefix and if added text was deleted then the auto prefix to be deleted as well ?? If user doesn't press Save / Apply changes obviously want to leave existing Notes as is.

Aug 23, 2012Need to create a report based on date ranges and for this created a interactive report and two page item datepicker fields P15_fromdate and p15_todate. Report works fine with this criteria.But user wants one more field quarter(P15_quarter), When they select the quarter the range values has to get reset and as to get applied to report.
Issue here is unable to find a way to set the page range item values based on the quarter field selection
how to reset the page item fields.
Application Express :: URL Parameters Null
Mar 11, 2013I have a HTML region with two select lists and one button. The select lists are P103_SPORT and P103_YEAR. I want the user to make choices from the select lists and click the button to pass their choices as parameters in a URL. I set the button to redirect to a URL. In that URL I am using the notation &P103_SPORT. and &P103_YEAR. to include the user values. Currently when a user clicks the button, a new window opens with the URL, but nulls are being passed for the 2 items (sport and year). When I click the DEBUG button for the page, these items have nulls for values, even though the user selects values from the select list.
what I'm missing here? Why does DEBUG show null for the items when I can see values in these items?

Mar 6, 2013How do I center a button within a region? I tried 'align="center"' but this seemed to be ignored. The button is at the left of the screen. Also, what are the 'display points' (Page Template Region Position 1-8) used for, and why is there a specification for column position of 1-9? Could these be attributes that will allow my button to be centered on the window instead of on the left?

Sep 3, 2012available for doing reporting in BI Publisher? For example, I would like to use the same report for one person or for many people. This would mean that a where clause should be added when it is for the individual and would not be needed for the whole population. I do not see a way to dynamically build the report using "Report Queries" in Shared Components.
It is easy to build a sql query based on different selection criteria in the Region Source of a pagethat then gets displayedd on the page but I am not seeing much flexibility in creating a report with BI Publisher in Apex.
Application Express :: Unable To Set Default Date Value For Tabular Form DB Date Field?
Dec 3, 2012Version : 4.1.1, I have a tabular form on a DB table. One of the columns is a date field. When the user hits the "add Row" button on the tabular form, I want the Date field to be defaulted to sysdate. Here is what I have tried so far,
1. Created a "hidden" item P1_SYSDATE and populated the default value with sysdate. After this, under the DB tabular report date field, I used default type - Item/application on this page and entered P1_sYSDATE
2. Instead of populating the default value of the P1_SYSDATE hidden item, I created a before regions process and added
:P1_SYSDATE := sysdate
and added P1_SYSDATE to default type of the tabular date field with default type as "ITem/application on this page.
I get the error
ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression
I tried to_Char(sysdate,'dd-mon-yyyy') and then converting it back to to_date. still no luck.

Sep 24, 2013APEX_ITEM functions do not seem to be working correctly. When I create a region with this query:
select APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY(1, 1, 'select ''Jan'' d, 1 r from dual union select ''Feb'' d, 2 r from dual') month_id
from dual I get the error:report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: associative array shape is not consistent with session parametersWhen I run that query in SQL Developer I get this:

works but returns an incorrect result, there is no list.When I run that query in SQL Workshop on apex.oracle.com I get this:

which is correct.I tried changing NLS_COMP parameter from Linguistic to Binary and changing NLS_SORT to BINARY_CI but that did not make a difference. This seems like a rare problem and generally related to installation but it has me stopped dead in my tracks.
Application Express :: Apex_web_service.make_rest_request Wrapper Missing Header Parameters

When attempting to use apex_web_service.make_rest_request, I found that it doesnt work with one of my web services because the service requires header parameters. The wrapper apex_web_service.make_rest_request is missing the two header parameters (p_http_headers, p_http_hdr_values) that are in the internal package wwv_flow_web_services.make_rest_request. I have tried passing the values into the two available p_parm_name and p_parm_value parameters, but it doesnt work. They have to be in the header.
It does work within APEX application when it allows me to add a header parm, but I am trying to schedule it nightly as a job from the DB.
Will it hurt anything for me to use the wwv_flow_web_services.make_rest_request?
