I have a page, Say page 1 ..and from that page 1 I go to a different page Say page 2 which is open like a modal window. Now what i need is i need to make a change in the first page that is page 1 ..from page 2 ..
I need to change a value of status field which is in page 1 to Say p100_status ... I think i might have to use application items to accomplish this.. So i Use the following method..
APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('F148_STATUS','ACTIVE');
Now i need to transfer the value in apex item . i.e p200_status should contain the value of : f148_status ..

1. I m building a form in which students will file some data (name, address, etc) but i want to send a parameter on the URL i send them (their student ID number), which will be saved together with the data the end-users save.
e.g the form i m building is [URL]
can i add in the end of the URL the student_id of the end of the URL?
so it will be something like [URL]
So when student #10 will hit the URL on his browser, once he inputs hsi data and press SAVE button, on the database i can save STUDENT_ID=10 and the rest info he just entered?
2. Which is the login URL for end users? i have only the workspace login now..

Using Application Express 4.2.1.00.08
Any problem using 4.2's One Level Tabs - Content Frame page where you have a parent region (of type content frame Body Container ) while number of child regions (of type Hide & Show Region - Borderless ), if you want to re-order them by changing the sequence, it has no effect when you run the page.
The regions still show in the same order top to bottom as it did before the update of sequences. Heading links (to show/hide child regons in content frames) has the same ordering as before.

i have a html button. With the following attributes: onclick="return false" class="upd_description" A dynamic Action is listening on this button.
Event: Click
Selection-Type: jQuery Selector
JQuery Selector: .upd_description
static_URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:306:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:306:P306_SER_SK:&P305_SER_SK.
as defined in my button attributes.
Button and dynamic action are on page 305. I can now open Page 306 as modal window but the page will close immediately.

We are using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 on Wondows XP and Oracle version is 10g. I've created a report in APEX and the user is insisting on putting a header on each page in PRINT of the report which should contain the "from date" and "to date", which are present on the select criteria on top.
Can I somehow add from_date and to_date items in Title so that when they print the report, they'll see the from and to dates in the title?Or is there someother way to do this. The report is an interactive report with a control break and user prints the report with file->print.

I am new to APEX and I am developing an application to manage Oracle database user accounts. I have a page (8) that has text items for the username and the database name. I have a submit button (this works fine) that will issue the ALTER USER... statement to reset the user's password and unlock the account. I have another button that should:
get the value of the username - P8_USERNAMEassign it to an application item - FIND_USER_IN_DBredirect to page in application - to page 11
The issue is that FIND_USER_IN_DB does not get populated and page 11
which is a simple report with the following query:
SELECT *FROM valid_dbWHERE username = :FIND_USER_IN_DB;
How do I accomplish this?

I have different public page (page1) and different page for authorized user(page5).Upon successful login after process validation ,computation it should navigate to authorized user page 5 but the branching does work it keeps on going to page 1 .

I'm trying to connect a javascript UI control within my page to an APEX Application Process. The control calls the application process via AJAX and appends a variable number of GET / POST parameters to its URL.What is the best way to obtain these parameters from within the PLSQL procedure of the process? Or is there a better way to connect my javascript AJAX control to the Database behind my APEX app?

I installed APEX 4.1 with EPG on Oracle linux 6 and for some reason I want to change image prefix from */i/* to */i4/*.
I browsed to apex/utilities and logged in sqlplus as sysdba and run the file:
@reset_image_prefix.sql choosing */i4/* as my new prefix.
then i tried:
select id, flow_image_prefix from apex_040100.wwv_flows; all application now have the prefix /i4/ but when I go to http://myserver:8080/apex nothing is displayed !!!!
when i change */i4/* back to */i/* everything is back to normal...

Im my application, after login, I have a hidden & protected item whose value I am setting based on a logic. Also I would like to access this item's value in a application process, so session will have this value. Now I do not want anybody to be able to change the value of this item. For Eg, if my item was P1_RESP, I was able to change its value in the following way, I have an edit link on somr IR, where I redirect to another page passing some values and the URL looks like : [URL] After the browser loads, I can edit the above URL to below and click enter, [URL]

I have a tabbed form that I need to conditionally disable rows (making them read only). I'm using Javascript to set the attributes of the fields that need to be set.A request was made to make the font color of the read only fields black so that they're easier to read.I'm not able to get the font changed to black on the fields that are Select Lists in Internet Explorer. They are staying gray, however, they are set to black in Firefox. The JavaScript code for one of the Select List is:

Need to create a report based on date ranges and for this created a interactive report and two page item datepicker fields P15_fromdate and p15_todate. Report works fine with this criteria.But user wants one more field quarter(P15_quarter), When they select the quarter the range values has to get reset and as to get applied to report.
Issue here is unable to find a way to set the page range item values based on the quarter field selection
how to reset the page item fields.

change the color of a row in APEX SQL report. Change Colour of Row - Oracle APEX SQL Report...It's a bit outdated, and trying to figure out how to get to this page: URL.....where I can conditionally set background color.
I am using theme 13 (legacy) and made a copy of the report region. Edited it but cannot find an equivalent section of that apex 3.1 screenshot.

I have a report linked to a form. The link column is currently ROWID and I want to change it to the Primary Key of the DB table, which is called ID.
I have done this before on a previous report/form where that ID was a display column and it works fine. Now I'm trying to copy what I did, which is this:
On the report page, go to Interactive Report attributes, scroll down to Link Column, and for Item 1, change the Name and Value.
The problem is that Name does not list P52_ID. If I type it in, it throws an error when I run the page.
I think I added ID, which is also a Display column, later on, so I wonder whether Apex has a refresh issue and can't "see" P52_ID.

I'm trying to create a functionality on my application that lets the user change their password whenever they want or when the password gets expired.
But to do that, first I need a Branch to the page "Password Change" whenever the login procedure returns "Password Expire", but when the user has an expired password he can't access none of the pages of the application.
My other problem is:
Even if I can get the user to be redirect to the "Password Change" page, I would need a function that validate his current expired password, because in order to alter his own, he would need to inform his current password and the new one he desires. If I was using Apex Authentication that would be very easy I think, but I'm obligate to use Database Account Authentication.

I have a HTML region with two select lists and one button. The select lists are P103_SPORT and P103_YEAR. I want the user to make choices from the select lists and click the button to pass their choices as parameters in a URL. I set the button to redirect to a URL. In that URL I am using the notation &P103_SPORT. and &P103_YEAR. to include the user values. Currently when a user clicks the button, a new window opens with the URL, but nulls are being passed for the 2 items (sport and year). When I click the DEBUG button for the page, these items have nulls for values, even though the user selects values from the select list.
what I'm missing here? Why does DEBUG show null for the items when I can see values in these items?

I have installed Oracle 11g XE . After this , i have upgraded to Apex 4.2 All it's working fine, but..... by default XE installs and configure apex to use embebed pl/sql gateway.
In this scenario, the images are stored directly in the database within the oracle XML DB repository. This may be a problem because XE have a 11GB limit and my apex aplication is simple, but it may upload pictures for customers, etc, and in this schenma the pictures will consume space in the database instead consuming in the linux filesystem.Can i install HTTP server in a 11g XE and reconfigure apexr?, or can i change to apache+listener? or more easy....can i upload images outside the XML DB in my apex application easily?

I'm trying to set up a PL/SQL dynamic action that is triggered by clicking on a button. The dynamic action sets two values in a table and then I would like to redirect to another page. Setting the values works fine. The code is below:

How do I center a button within a region? I tried 'align="center"' but this seemed to be ignored. The button is at the left of the screen. Also, what are the 'display points' (Page Template Region Position 1-8) used for, and why is there a specification for column position of 1-9? Could these be attributes that will allow my button to be centered on the window instead of on the left?

available for doing reporting in BI Publisher? For example, I would like to use the same report for one person or for many people. This would mean that a where clause should be added when it is for the individual and would not be needed for the whole population. I do not see a way to dynamically build the report using "Report Queries" in Shared Components.
It is easy to build a sql query based on different selection criteria in the Region Source of a pagethat then gets displayedd on the page but I am not seeing much flexibility in creating a report with BI Publisher in Apex.

APEX_ITEM functions do not seem to be working correctly. When I create a region with this query:
select APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY(1, 1, 'select ''Jan'' d, 1 r from dual union select ''Feb'' d, 2 r from dual') month_id
from dual I get the error:report error:ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: associative array shape is not consistent with session parametersWhen I run that query in SQL Developer I get this:
<select name="f01" ><option value="%null%">%</option><option value="1" selected="selected">1</option></select>It
works but returns an incorrect result, there is no list.When I run that query in SQL Workshop on apex.oracle.com I get this:
<select name="f01" ><option value="%null%">%</option><option value="2" >Feb</option><option value="1" selected="selected">Jan</option></select>
which is correct.I tried changing NLS_COMP parameter from Linguistic to Binary and changing NLS_SORT to BINARY_CI but that did not make a difference. This seems like a rare problem and generally related to installation but it has me stopped dead in my tracks.

When attempting to use apex_web_service.make_rest_request, I found that it doesnt work with one of my web services because the service requires header parameters. The wrapper apex_web_service.make_rest_request is missing the two header parameters (p_http_headers, p_http_hdr_values) that are in the internal package wwv_flow_web_services.make_rest_request. I have tried passing the values into the two available p_parm_name and p_parm_value parameters, but it doesnt work. They have to be in the header.
It does work within APEX application when it allows me to add a header parm, but I am trying to schedule it nightly as a job from the DB.
Will it hurt anything for me to use the wwv_flow_web_services.make_rest_request?

I have "After header" process (with PL/SQL code) in "Page Rendering" section and want to navigate to some page after this process has been completed. I created a branch (On Submit: After Processing) with Target Type: URL. But this branch is executed only after "Page Processing", not after "Page Rendering". Maybe , there is any APEX API functions for pages navigating..

I'm using Apex Version: 4.2.1.00.08
I created a page with 2 tree regions. Both trees use different items and different queries. The first tree is displayed correctly. But the second one just contains the first item, if I don't display the first on via customizing the page or if I change the order of the trees the previoulsy invalid tree is shown correctly, but I didn't find a way to display both correct at the same time.
