I have an image that shows flags of 2 countries... I want to show revenues that they generate every day. is there a way to add text to the image (on it) using values from a table.

When user add an image to a rich text editor in apex is there any way to get the source path of that image within PL/SQL block when page submit happens ?
Have got basic form on a table and have a textarea which holds Notes added by user.
So Notes database field is updated on Save / Apply changes button being pressed.But would really like any text added / appended to the Notes field to be prefixed by userid and date / timestamp.
Is it possible via dynamic actions or Javascript to have any new text added / typed to be auto prefixed as per above.
Would only want the first key press in the filed to trigger the auto-prefix and if added text was deleted then the auto prefix to be deleted as well ?? If user doesn't press Save / Apply changes obviously want to leave existing Notes as is.
I am working with APEX 4.2. I have a schema with tables and views create and with data all tables.
Question : There is some way that I can generate automatically a application for all those tables & views. I remember that version 2 have this option.
I have a procedure I need to feed a number into in order to generate some thumbnails.
I'm trying to automatically update the value every time a new row is inserted but I'm having trouble with the code.

If I run the query SELECT MAX(IMAGE_ID) FROM IMAGES, it returns the last row ID I created just as it should. The create_blob_thumbnail(varInt) procedure works fine if I manually put in a number.
Apex 3.2. I have a page with a button. Once the user clicks the button a call is made to a procedure in a package.This procedure acesses a couple more procedures and functions, inorder to import data from one table to another. If the procedure takes more than 5 minutes to complete, the user receives an error message.This is actually the error message the user should get if he tries to do an import while another user’s import is running. Is it possible that if the called procedure doesn’t return in under 5 minutes the page is reloaded and the procedure called again resulting in the above error message.

I also found that in Interactive report there is page process that can send e-mails. Is it possible that page process send e-mail with report or report should be also saved before sending? The reason for this is that we want to have a history of created reports.

To do this i have created page with these 11 component name item and there 11 rate item to enter component rate with respective services. Problem is if i create 11 component name text item and 11 text item to enter there conmponent rate but if user add 3 or 4 or 5 more componenet name into master then i'll be need to add extra component name text item and component rate text item.so i need to create form where if user add more component into master then component name item and component rate item should be increase automaticaly.
How i can create form where item added auotmaticaly acording to component which are exist into master table. there is only component name into master table.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI installed APEX 4.1 with EPG on Oracle linux 6 and for some reason I want to change image prefix from */i/* to */i4/*.
I browsed to apex/utilities and logged in sqlplus as sysdba and run the file:
@reset_image_prefix.sql choosing */i4/* as my new prefix.
then i tried:
select id, flow_image_prefix from apex_040100.wwv_flows; all application now have the prefix /i4/ but when I go to http://myserver:8080/apex nothing is displayed !!!!
when i change */i4/* back to */i/* everything is back to normal...
How can I tell Apex to use an image as the background for a page? This particular page needs to be more visually interesting due to the audience that will be viewing it. I'm using Apex 4.2.2 and Oracle 11g.

I have just started using Oracle Application Express 11g. On my new attempt I am able to develop a table, report and a form, but I am not able to display picture image on the form though the browse link is active.
I can load the file name from the location folder to the form but it does not display. When I click on APPLY CHANGE then everything disappears. My main problem is how to successfully configure the settings for image display.

I have created a few flash charts using APEX4.2. Is there a way for the user to view the chart and then email it as an inline image to someone? I know that the user can save the chart as PDF file, then send it as an attachment via Outlook ( or similar system), but can I integrate these manual steps to one ( template), similar to the IR report's download feature ?

But the image is not shown. We only see broken image icon.With right click on broken icon, we can save it and it's actual image we want to display.

I have just created the basic employee information form in which i upload the photograph of the employee. The photograph gets uploaded but it does not display properly. I have already referred the sample database application to display the image. Moreover, i have followed the same steps as it is used to display the product image in that application. I have an application item named "FORMAT_TYPE1". I would like to perform a find and replace action (just like a word processor) where any part of the application that has name or text "FORMAT_TYPE1" in whole or in part is replaced by the text "FORMAT_CATEGORY1". For example:
FORMAT_TYPE1 becomes FORMAT_CATEGORY1
&FORMAT_TYPE1. becomes &FORMAT_CATEGORY1.
The find/search would do it in any attribute, source code in the application. There is only a Search Application feature, which is useful in identifying places, but lacks any replace function. Is there something else that will do this, besides exporting, editing the source code in a text editor, and then importing the application again?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI am developing an apex application using the apex cloud (apex.oraclecorp.com). I am using the DB link to show the data on APEX UI. I have a blob data which is stored in the remote DB, and I want to display the BLOB data as text on a popup or a new page or a download link. I tried using display only item but APEX throws an error saying that remote DB is not supported. Also, It would be great if I can just show a download link on the UI for the BLOB data, again when I try to select the format as BLOB in the column attributes, When I give the table@dblink as BLOB table I get an error saying that "table@DBLINK not found". Is there any way to display the BLOB data as text or download it which is present in my local DB?
