Server Utilities :: External Table - Data Cartridge Error
Aug 6, 2010
i created the External Table using the script below.
CREATE TABLE EXT_ST_FINANCEIRO_REAL (
DT_DATA NUMBER,
TIPO NUMBER,
ENTIDADE NUMBER,
VALOR Varchar2(40))
[code]....
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
KUP-00554: error encountered while parsing access parameters
KUP-01005: syntax error: found "missing" expecting on of: "column, exit,("
KUP-01007: at line 6 column 1
ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 19
getting proper value from the file in external table.
How can I get the whole status in STATUS column like completed , Inprogress, incompleted. Right now, if I gave position like (38:9) full status doesn't show. if I give (38:11) then '|1' is adding in status from the flat file.
BATCH_NO FILE_DATEEMP_ID COMPANY_ID TRANSACTIN_ID FILE_NAME STATUS DOC_NO 10000104252012100001***4252012**1:35:57***D100001***04252012***10:35:57***Diverified
im trying to create an external table, and i load my data without no problem, and everything is fine, but i got some behavior with one column that i would like to know whats behind scenes, OK let's get the example:
[*] Sample Data Line 1:333 1111111112009100000000000080000000013450.33 Line 2:11111111111220091016000000004.48 Line 3:222222222 220091016000000004.48 Line 4:(This is a blank line left)
As you can see i can upload my table with no problem but i always get 3 lines counting last blank line if i try LOAD WHEN COL_A != BLANKS, i dont know if its a problem of the blank space left between fixed fields length, but if i do LOAD WHEN COL_B != BLANKS i get correct result 2 lines instead of 3, i want to know why (missing fields...) and (reject rows...) are not working...
Note: COL_A could be 9-11 length, if length its 9 then 2 spaces left before next one...
I have to have a sequence added to a large(288 million rows) file when I load the file into the table. If I use SQL Loader I can't use direct since I have a trigger for each row for the sequence but I am not sure if an external table will be any faster since the trigger will be firing for each row also. In this scenario is one better than the other ?
While importing dump to the new database, error occurred. Below are the errors -
ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "INS"."GENMST_FINANCIER_BRANCH" ORA-12899: value too large for column TXT_IFSC_CODE (actual: 19, maximum: 15) ORA-02372: data for row: TXT_IFSC_CODE : 0X'4644524C30303031353739A0A0A0A0' [code]...
I would like to know, why such error occurred during the import.
I just did a 112G file migration of production data using oracle_datapump so I know this works in principle. When I tried it on my test instance I am seeing stuff like this
why it could be taking 1800 seconds to select one record from a not very big table? File corruption? Disc fragmentation? Oracle instance configuration?
We have a QA database on a VM server with Windows 2003 operating system and oracle 10.2.0.1 installed along with limited disk space. We received an expdp file from a client that is large enough that we had to copy it to a network drive (40GB). I created a new directory called IMPDMP with the directory path (using UNC pathing) to \serversharefoldersubfolder (our network mapped P drive, yes I included the backslash, but I have tried without it also). I also included the parfile here. I checked the grants and they seem to be fine
SQL> select * from session_roles where role like '%DATABASE' or role like 'DBA';

My questions are this:
1) In interactive mode, does a dummy file expdat.dmp have to exist in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory?
2) does my export have to reside in the DATA_PUMP_DIR directory (again, no disk space to handle the DMP file), one of the hard drives is just big enough to handle the space but since it has datafiles there also, it would crash during import when trying to extend.
ORA-31693: Table data object "033"."EZMILRIKUZ" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
my backup syntax is: 033/******@INTORCL DIRECTORY=exp_dir DUMPFILE=033.dmp LOGFILE=033.LOG FULL=N REUSE_DUMPFILES=Y FLASHBACK_TIME="TO_TIMESTAMP(TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'),'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS')"
I thought there was a problem with the table so i created a new one and now I'm getting the same error on a different table (the third on in the list: . . exported "033"."PRQ" 192.9 KB 479 rows . . exported "033"."EZMIL" 558.8 KB 1229 rows ORA-31693: Table data object "033"."MIL" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
when i takeoff the "FLASHBACK_TIME" parameter it works fine. ButI need this parameter.
i just posted another topic where i heard about external table and i had a few questions concerning them. I thought it was best to create a new topic than to continue on the other one...
I noticed that to create an external table the CTL is like this: CREATE TABLE emp_load (FIELDS description) ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (TYPE ORACLE_LOADER DEFAULT DIRECTORY ext_tab_dir ACCESS PARAMETERS (RECORDS FIXED 62 FIELDS (employee_number CHAR(2),
[Code]...
1) This creates an external table, but, is it possible to Create a normal table in a CTL file? For physical tables, the table has to exist right?
2) if you create a view linked to 2 external tables and if the CSV files are updated each day, the external tables will be updated automatically, and the view will be updated as well?
3) Can't there be any synchronisation problems?
4) What happens if a select request (or someone requests on the view) while the CSV file is being updated?
5) Is there anyway you can protect the accesses from those tables/views when the CSVs are being updated?
6) Is it possible to create an index on these sort of tables?
7) Is it possible to index a view?
8) Are external tables visible on a tool like sql developper?
I have an external table. The table gets created successfully. Once the table is created when I try to access it, I get the following error :
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout ORA-29400: data cartridge error error opening file /cmpnt/dev/test/ADE_TEMP_4992.log
The default directory is valid and does not have any issues. The IP address of my DB server and the server from which I am connecting to the DB are different. Is this is the issue ? However , all SQL queries are working fine except this one.
its importing data fine upto some stage after that oracle gives the following error
Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/JAVA_SOURCE/JAVA_SOURCE ORA-39097: Data Pump job encountered unexpected error -1423 ORA-39065: unexpected master process exception in DISPATCH ORA-01423: error encountered while checking for extra rows in exact fetch ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 123404 bytes (QERHJ has h-joi,kllcqas:kllsltba)
ORA-39014: One or more workers have prematurely exited. Job "SYSTEM"."SYS_IMPORT_SCHEMA_04" stopped due to fatal error at 11:42:03
I though its due to lack of memory, so i have increased pga_aggregate_target=512MB to 600MB still i am getting a same error.
While i like to start CSS service to create new ASM instance in my own pc for testing purpose gettting the below errors "'localconfig' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.".
SQL> select * from oldemp8; select * from oldemp8 * ERROR at line 1: ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout ORA-29400: data cartridge error KUP-00554: error encountered while parsing access parameters KUP-01005: syntax error: found "(": expecting one of: "comma, defaultif, nullif, )" KUP-01007: at line 7 column 16 ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 19

what is the syntax error in the above command. I place the notepad file properly.i create external table before many time but cant find any this type of error.
Any way to setup Data Pump Export timeout on resumable error (like with classique export). Seems that default timeout is 2h (7200s).I have tried to set system parameter 'resumable_timeout' from 0 to 60 but no change.
I would like to script an export, but I just want that the script exits on errors like this one:
ORA-39171: Le travail se heurte à une attente avec possibilité de reprise. ORA-01691: impossible d'étendre le segment LOB SYS.SYS_LOB0000145352C00039$$ de 128 dans le tablespace SYSTEM
Actually, the script have to wait 2h for expdp timeout.
LOAD DATA INFILE "gateway.csv" truncate INTO TABLE GATEWAY Fields terminated by "," Optionally enclosed by '"' trailing nullcols
[code]....
and I got the following error:

I have created the directory pointing on 'C:data'...And loaded a comma delimited CSV file in there...
- Checked the csv permissions ther are set to 'everyone'
- Checked the previladges of the directory, they are set to 'READ/WRITE'
But when I issue a select statement against the exte table I get an error '
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout ORA-29400: data cartridge error KUP-04040: file input.csv in DUMP_TXT not found ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 14 ORA-06512: at line 1'
I'm getting an error when trying to use the new Data Pump Export/Import utility.
I am able to create a directory using SQLPLus, and I get the "Directory Created" message, but no directory actually gets created on the server.
SQL> CREATE DIRECTORY datapump AS 'C:Inetpubdatafiledatapump';
Directory created. But I dont see the directory created on the server.
Then on the server:
C:Documents and SettingsAdministrator>expdp ******/****** FULL=y DIRECTORY=datapump DUMPFILE=expdata.dmp LOGFILE=expdata.log Export: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wednesday, 01 November, 2006 1:51:55 Copyright (c) 2003, 2005, Oracle. I have got a procedure that successfully creates an oracle external table and populates it with the contents of a file. This works fine until I have a situation where one of the fields is a VARCHAR2(2) and I try to insert say, a 5 character value. When this happens the record in question does not get populated in the external table (and rightly so), but I could do with working out if there is a discrepancy in the number of records in the file and the number of records that actually make it into the table so I could inform the user that there is a problem.
I have attached the code that creates the external table and populates it.
I have a requirement to import text files which are generated from 3d modelling software xsteel where it records all geometric information and i want to import this information into oracle table.
im trying to migrate Sybase 12.5 to oracle 11G R2 on linux all tables are fine expect one which fails with error
"SQL Error: ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0 01841. 00000 - "(full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0" *Cause: Illegal year entered *Action: Input year in the specified range"
i have change the data type from CHAR to VARCHAR2 etc as for the datatype date shows as date on the tool - I'm using sqldeveloper from oracle.
i am trying to use exp/imp utility through cmd and exp/imp is done successfully as per message given at last. but data is not import in targeted user.

I'm not sure if this is so much a SQL Loader problem as it is a database understanding problem, but here it is. I am having trouble loading data into a table (using SQL Loader) due to the fact that I am trying to load data row by row, into corresponding columns.
TestFile.csv
testvalue1, 123445 testvalue2, test testvalue3, 455321 testvalue4, 65742 testvalue5, 5719
So, using the above data, I am trying to load the value for 'testvalue1' into a column defined as 'testvalue1'; the value for 'testvalue2' into a column defined as 'testvalue2' and so on. From my understanding, SQL loader loads by column not by row, so I am not even sure if this is possible.
How to load the CLOB data into table..in the attached file 18 column has clob data it's appear like new line..Using external table how to load. i tried it's not working..
I'm trying to do a network datapump between oracle databases, and it seems to continually hang when it gets to the point where it should be processing table data.
