Server Administration :: Exit Of Oracle Universal Installer While Clicking Next Button

I am facing a problem while installing Oracle11gR2 in my laptop having windows 7 basic edition. Initially i reached till step 16 which is "Prerequisite check" after giving the schema password . But then suddenly the installer got excited. After that when i again tried to run the installer at the 3rd stage of installation when i am clicking the next button the installer is getting excited.
How to reslove this issue and get oracle 11gR2 installed in my laptop.

after uninstalling 10g software with home using universal installer how to re-install without deleting all components of database like the database exists i just want to put the oracle software on it and reusing x home location.

I have received a service ticket from QA regarding one of the application forms does not close out even after the exit button is pressed. Instead, it goes to the previous record and continues to do so if there are multiple applications created and then exits at that point.
The end users are not liking that feature and I am unable to detect this error.. What kind of trigger should i apply and what do i write in this trigger.

I want to show or hide some items on my form by using the SET_ITEM_PROPERTY to enable or disable VISIBLE. i have a button NEW, my need is when i click on this NEW button it should be hide and some other items should be show. but when i click on this its only showing other items but not hiding the NEW button. my NEW button is like this:

But When I pressed Yes Or No the database is not update. Why ? I have save My data with save button already no problem but why i close this form The data is'nt save?
So i have to put "summit;" in it when ALT_EXIT pass another warning* appear how do i exit program without the second warning
*it say about"2 record i already updated" about this but i can't remember exactly.

I have 3 pages: - Classes: a Classic Report that shows a list of classes and summarises attendance- Class Attendance Report: An Interactive Report that shows a row for each student that attended a class- Attendance Add / Edit Form On the Classes page, the Date value is a Link which passes a filter in the URL to the Class Attendance Report, showing only students who attended the class held on this date On the Class Attendance Report, I want to have a Region Button that, when clicked, goes to the Attendance Add / Edit Form and the Class Date field on this form is automatically populated with the same date value as was being used for the filter on the Interactive Report on the Class Attendance Report Page. So, I click on the Class Date link for 2013-11-01, this takes me to the Class Attendance Report and filters for students who have been already entered as attending on 2013-11-01. If I click on the "Add Attendance" button, it goes to the Attendance Add / Edit form and the Class Date is automatically set to 2013-11-01. I assume I need to do this via a Dynamic Action that runs when the "Add Attendance" button on the Class Attendance Report page is clicked?

I have a situation where one form calls another. I am opening the other form(say B) using the below code.

On Form B there is an Exit button on click of which it closes the Form B and returns to Form A

Having trouble installing Oracle 11g. After I select system class, the installer just closes out. I have re-download the software from the Oracle and made sure both files were unzipped into the same folder correctly. Searching around this forum found same problems, none of the solutions have worked so far. Tried setup -jreLoc (Location of Java), tried using it with different versions of java. If it tries to start the installer it gives an error about not being able to locate java runtime.
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
8GB Memory
930GB Free (on drive i want to install oracle on)

I have a problem in oracle forms. I have a block that displays five records in list item. On load, it will query two data in my table. So the list item (poplist) one and two enabled. (The default of oracle forms - List item one and two are enabled and the rest are disabled because one and two have data).
My problem was, what work around will I gonna do so that if I pressed the mouse in the third list item it will automatically enabled (for a new record) and if I pressed the list item one or two the third item will stay disable (even the fourth and fifth) because simply the user wants to update the item one or two in the list.

Actually Java installer is eating up too much memory over 1gb. Is there a way ? I can limit memory usage by Java process to a certain extent ?

I was trying to delete the database in the test server. When i was deleting listener was already stopped, i continued deleting using dbca, it shown me some alert that datafiles cant be deleted because system could't find database, since listner was stopped so only service was deleted(the one showing in the windows administrator toolsservicesOracleServiceTEST).
All the datafile parameter files are still there. How can i delete the datafiles and parameter files belongs to that database or how to create the deleted service, so that i will start the listener and do the complete deleting of the database.

I am trying to find the unix process for one of my application in the database but I am unable to view the same. To simulate, I did the following.
1. My database runs on different server.
2. I invoked "sqlplus" from another unix box to login to the database.
3. I found that the process id (ps -ef |grep sqlplus).
4. When I execute the below mentioned query it does not display the process id that I am looking for. But the osuser, username, program and machine details are correct. How can I know the process details from the database?

I'm trying to connect a oracle client application on the client machine to a remote oracle server on the server machine but i get a connection fail.
On the server machine I configured oracle server in the following way:
Installed oracle server. Created a database "DB_Test" with the database configuration assistant Created a LISTNER with the Oracle NET Manager with the following parameter:
Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521 Created "dbtest" service with the Oracle NET Manager with with the following parameter:
Service Name: "dbtest" Protocol: TCP/IP HOST: server pc hostname (ENZOVAIO) or server machine address ip (192.168.0.71) in the network lan Port Number: 1521
All services on the server machine are running and I opened port number (1521) in the router. On the client machine I installed SQL PLUS and SQL Developer.
With SQL Plus as by the official documentation I have entered the following command:
CONNECT username/password@[//]host[:port][/service_name]. In my case is:
CONNECT SYSTEM/oracledb@//ENZOVAIO:1521/testdb.
With SQL Developer I have entered the same parameter.
But with both SQLPlus and SQL Developer the connection fails.

We performed image copy of production Oracle server (OS and instances) to a backup server. After a few weeks, we try to restore a latest Oracle database backup from production server to backup server. As we know, Oracle instance must be unique on the network.
Even we log on to backup server and bring up the instance, I think that still point to production instance since all init file, TNSNAMES.ora and listener file are still same. If we restore the database, we will end up bring down the production instance and restore on top of productions. How to change instance name on backup server including TNSNAMES, sqlnet, listener files in order for us to restore Oracle database from production to backup server?

We will be having a meeting with our client regarding their Database Server Migration (They are planning to buy a new server). Their current database is Oracle 10gR2, they will not upgrade to 11g, they just plan to migrate to a new more powerful machine.
I was planning to ask the following questions.
1. Specifications of the current server and the new one.
2. Operation system (I think they will use same OS, just an updated one)
3. Can the business afford full downtime on current servers?
