I have received a service ticket from QA regarding one of the application forms does not close out even after the exit button is pressed. Instead, it goes to the previous record and continues to do so if there are multiple applications created and then exits at that point.
The end users are not liking that feature and I am unable to detect this error.. What kind of trigger should i apply and what do i write in this trigger.
I am using Oracle Forms 10G and I have a button that calls a form in my app by using the
new_form('FRMINIT.FMX'); statement.
When I press the button the runtime process freezes and it does nothing. When I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete the frmweb.exe process raises its kbs in memory.
In the past i solved that problem. It was caused by a setting the parameter serverApp in the formsweb.cfg to the correct value (serverApp=[URL] ....) but i tried this again and although it is correct the runtime process freezes. Plus, i do not get an error message in JInitiator Console.
I have a form with a block at header level. Once you save your header, there is a second block at line level. I want to be able to enter only one record at header level and line-level.
Also if you search on an instance which already has a record at line-level then i want the insert button to be greyed out.
Similarly once you create your first record at line-level the Insert button should be greyed out.
I have a table in that i have some columns along with that four columns to capture the user details. but these details must be captured Programmatically.like whenever a user insert or update or delete his credentials must be captured in these columns. but i am not figuring out in which trigger i have to write and how.
Maybe you can tell me if you think it's right or wrong for Oracle to behave like that. What basically happened is that I've set up a trigger to capture deleted rows from testtab into testtab_del.
I have inserted and immediately after - deleted a row from testtab. Then I inserted another row, committed, and checked my testtab_del table.
I've seen that val1 was inserted and committed into testtab_del. This happened in spite of the fact that this row never existed as a *committed row*.
What do you think about this behavior in this scenario? Works as designed or not?
SQL> show user USER is "ANDREY" SQL> col tcol for a10 SQL> drop table testtab;
I have a form w/a tab canvas. BlkA is on Tab1 and Blk2 is on Tab2. In BlkA I have several items that have when-validate-item triggers. However, the trigger does not fire when I enter a value into item1 of BlkA followed by clicking on Tab2. To solve, I placed validate(form_scope) in the When-Tab-Page-Changed trigger. This works well with invoking the validation. However, focus remains on Tab2 (Blk2).
I would like focus to return to failed validation item in Blk1. I can capture the block name using :system.cursor_block in the Post-Block trigger of BlkA, assign that value to a form parameter and when a validation fails via the When-Tab-Page-Changed trigger I can return user back to BlkA(Tab1). However, I need direction on how to return user to the specific item in BlkA that failed validation
This Is My Code ------------------- Declare obutton number; begin
obutton := Show_alert('ALT_EXIT'); clear_block(no_validate); If obutton = ALERT_BUTTON1 Then -- commit; exit_form(no_validate); else exit_form(no_validate); end if; end; -------------------- But When I pressed Yes Or No the database is not update. Why ? I have save My data with save button already no problem but why i close this form The data is'nt save?
So i have to put "summit;" in it when ALT_EXIT pass another warning* appear how do i exit program without the second warning
*it say about"2 record i already updated" about this but i can't remember exactly.

I have a form which contains tabular layout which i can fill a text item with date format. I set the data type properties to "Date" with format mask "dd-mm-yyyy".When I click a "save" button, it will call a procedure to insert into table. But i'm getting this error message : "FRM-40735: WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06502"
I did some search on google and error 06502 means numeric or value error. But I don't understand what caused my error. Is it at my text item's properties?

Something strange happens when i give execute query in a form (Oracle Forms 10g.). On executing query, one field disappeared but when i clicked on the location of the field it appeared again. I am not sure if this has something to do with visual attributes/display properties. This is happening only after migration to 10g.

In a Entry Screen, it contains three Blocks. During the Close through the Close Button in Top(Like (X)), It move to Another Block after close that window then only the form Closing.
In the same form when we press the F4 it Exit Without that Operation.
