Secure Backup :: SFTP Not Working In OSB 11.1.1.6?
Dec 2, 2012
We are trying to use the SFTp transport in OSB 11g. Did the setup as mentioned in the documentation.The SFTP server is hosted on linux machine and using the user password mechanism.
We are reading a file using the ftp adapter and routing to the business service that is based on sftp.The file is picked up properly by proxy but while sending the file through SFTP, we are facing the following error.At the source and destination ends, the directories have the full permissions as required.

We having OSB 10.4 on Solaris 10 with SL 24 TL Auto loader ( Tapes doesn't having Bar-code ), while firing file system backup (Sol 10 is the client OS) , it is hanging . and i have logged in to TL console then it shows loading and unloading. while OSB catalog backup is getting fired on the associated media family.
We are exploring Oracle Secure Backup in our environment as legato networker alternative. But RMAN backup in OSB is very slow due to sbt wait event (sbtwrite2). it can backup 5GB/hour. We think this not normal behavior. we have checked network throughput between media server and client server. It can send 50 GB data by 30 min.
I have a lot of uncompressed backup. How can I compress it?

We have OSB 10.44 installed on 64 Bit Red Hat OS. Is working pretty fine with a Virtual Library that is configured in an Storage Box. Now we have acquired a Physical Storage and we want to duplicate the backups already taken by the Virtual Library into the new Physical Library.
We have 20 drives for the VTL and for the physical we are planning to have the same to duplicate all backups from VTL. That is being done in case Emergency Failures, so we can restore from Physical Library in case the VTL fails.
The question is: Is there any documentation on how to do duplicate backups.?
The duplicate backups copy wont be done in real time. They will be done after the backup is finished in the VTL and then will start the copy in the physical library.
Oracle Back up is showing library Dell PS 6100E as unsupported device and can not retrieve any information from it, can not ping and can not verify both from obtool and web tool. Using Linux. I can ping from outside and see the device config using lsscsi. But obtool and webtool fails. Is it really unsupported ? In the
$ORACLE_Backup_Home/device/device_robots I see some PV122T, PV124T
We would like to used Oracle secure backup using SAS interface on an IBM Autoloader Model TS-2900. Would it be possible to configure oracle secure backup using SAS?
how do i do SFTP on oracle. How to get the code how we can do SFTP with PL/SQL? Is there any built in package in database that will do SFTP.How can connect to a SFTP server using PL-SQL? Can I use the following code to connect to SFTP server. URL...
I want my application to provide an end-user with ability to upload the files from their machine to SFTP server directly. So far, I have managed to write the function which uses java source and allows to upload files from the database. It works just fine.
The function looks as follows:
FUNCTION SFTP_CMD ( V_USER IN VARCHAR2, V_PASS IN VARCHAR2, V_HOST IN VARCHAR2,
[code]..
where V_FILE_SRC represents location of the file to be uploaded. The thing is that the FILE BROWSE apex item does not allow to specify the file location, it identifies it somehow automatically, when you press the button 'Choose file'. The question is how can I catch file's path, so that I can pass it to V_FILE_SRC parameter in my function? Should I write my own plugin? or hack FILE BROWSE item? =)
I have Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production With the Real Application Clusters and Automatic Storage Management. OS is Windows server 2008. Database size is approx 273 GB. I am running RMAN full back from a node with archive log all. With only 1 channel. Total backup size is almost 230 GB.
It is taking about 2 hours to complete the backup in the evening, but when i take same backup at midnight its takes about 1:15 hrs.
I'm on a Windows server 2003 R2 64 bit, database is 11.1.0.7. From RMAN connected to the target and the catalog, this is a show all;
RMAN> show all;
RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name ORCL are:
CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS; CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON; CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 'F:oracleadmin
[code]....
I'm running incremental backups, a level 0 on sunday and a level 1 the other days of the week, this is the ctl file:
LEVEL 0: connect target /@ORCL connect catalog rman/rmanpw@rmancat RUN {
[code]....
The level 0 does delete the archive logs (because of the delete input). Each backupset has two copies of the archive logs (which is what I want), and I expected the logs to be deleted after being backed up 2 days (each day is twice, 2 days = 4 times). But it's not deleting the logs, even after 6 runs.
I am trying to restore a backup from a live server to a dev server. Have moved nackup sets. Created a windows service to match the old sid on live system. copied the pfile from live and changed the locations of the folders to suit dev. set oracle_sid to the new sid(as created to match live)
connected to rman startup nomount set dbid to the live number restore controlfile alter database mount catalog'd all the backupsets
[code]....
but it fails when it tries the restore .. see below ..The path it is showing is the old path from the live server, so it appears to eb ignoring my set newname statements even though they succeeded earlier - should be restoring them to d:oracleoradatasun43dev ? Does the whole thing have to be put inside one run block or can I put bits in one run block and other bits outside of it etc?
RMAN> restore database;
Starting restore at 14-FEB-12 using channel ORA_DISK_1 using channel ORA_DISK_2 channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
I am trying to create a clone database using hot backup of a database .
STEPS THAT I FOLLOWED ------------------------------------
LET ----- >CURRENT_DB NAME=DEV CLONE DATABASE NAME=DEVCLONE
steps PERFORMED FORM DEV DB ----------------------------------------------- - put the database in backup mode using 'alter database begin backup' - copy all the data files to a different folder - during copy i have performed some operations on the DB (creating users, tables, dmls etc...) - in between copying i also performed log switch - after completion of copy , "alter database end backup" - created a backup control file in a human readable format (alter database backup controlfile to trace as ........)
steps performed for clone DB side ((DEVCLONE) ------------------------------------------------------------------- - created a parameter file for the database . - modified the backup control file so that it will point to the location of copied destination of datafiles - set the ORACLE_SID - then 'sqlplus / as sysdba - starup nomount - run the modified control file ( created a control file for the clone database) - recover the database using "recover database using backup controlfile" I have provided the archive files that it was asking for (archive logs that has been generated in DEV DB) then i canceled the recovery by typing "cancel" - recover database using backup controlfile until cancel; then typed "cancel" - then try to open the database with open resetlogs but it showed below error
alter database open resetlogs * ERROR at line 1: ORA-01195: online backup of file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:DATA_GUARDDEVHOTSYSTEM01.DBF'
How to secure oracle database, I am having the oracle database which will be packed as package in a machine and will be delivered to client place , need to ensure that the client will not access the database by any means.
Even he breaks the password (he should not break but despite client has broken the password) and went inside the database, he should not be able to see the databases Procedures ,views,functions and triggers. Can we Encrypt this, if so can client will be able to decrypt the same? Is there a way to secure the database from the client not to access the database.
I'm doing online business of selling my manufacturing product to my customer through internet. It is so much easy way but with this there are some unwanted threads that might be disturb business working area. I want to keep my customer online data from hacker but have no strong software who minimize or protect them hackers.
Below is the sample code working fine in 10g and not working now in 11g.
CREATE OR REPLACE AND RESOLVE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "PSTest" AS import java.sql.SQLData; import java.sql.SQLException; import java.sql.SQLInput; import java.sql.SQLOutput; import java.util.List; [code]....
we got the below error: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected an IN argument at position 1 that is an instance of an Oracle type convertible to an instance of a user defined Java class got an Oracle type that could not be converted to a java class
Current Oracle version is Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit and the version we are upgrading is Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit
am trying to use secure call to reports from forms using the frmrwinteg.jar javabean.
when i set the implementation class of the javabean area i still have the error FRM-13008 can't find javabean with name..,but i ignore it as i read at the whitepaper downloaded from OTN. and follow all instructions add to java directory,, add to formsweb,, add parameter to basejini.htm
each time i call the report i have been asked to connect and when i run the form my username and password are written to the consol and i still can see them at the html code when call parameter form, my code is
DECLARE
rep_url varchar2(2000);
BEGIN rep_url:='http://office_server:8889/reports/rwservlet?server=repserver10&report=d:mm-J.JSP &desformat=htmlcss&destype=CACHE¶mform=yes&userid='; set_custom_property('block3.userid_bean',1,'WRITE_LOGOUTPUT','true');
[code]...
and this is what is written to the consol
FrmReportsInteg1: Debugging true FrmReportsInteg1: Adding new userid string "xx/xx@xxxxx" FrmReportsInteg1: ADD_REPORTS_CONNECT: xx/xx@xxxxx FrmReportsInteg1: Setting cookie path to /reports/TEST/
[code]/....
i DON'T KNOW WHERE IS THE ERROR THAT MAKE THIS NOT WORK.
I have two tables : oa_membership_dtl(in this created_by field is varchar2(200 byte) ,oa_partner_usr_dtl(in this table partner_userid is number(8,0) i need to do join on above fields.
I am using following two queries:
select * from oa_membership_dtl membership join oa_partner_usr_dtl partner_user on to_char(partner_user.partner_userid,'9999')=membership.created_by select * from oa_membership_dtl membership join oa_partner_usr_dtl partner_user on rtrim(ltrim(partner_user.partner_userid||' '))=rtrim(ltrim(membership.created_by))
by using first data is not fetched but 2nd is working fine , i am getting the matched records using 2nd query.
I have 2 seperate rman backup one backup is of only datafile ,spfile and controlfile which i am able to restore and recover without any problem say bkp1 taken at 10 am
other set of backup is of only archive log files of same day but later time than datafile backup say bkp2 taken at 8pm...if i restore and recover bkp1 and try to restore bkp2 it gives error datafile exist (possibly due to fact both backup have control file)
if i just restore bkp1 and try to restore bkp2 so that i can do one recover at time it gives error datafile permission issue (possibly due to fact both backup have control file)
I want to restore database upto 8pm time how can i use both bkp1 and bkp2 to do it(restore datafiles and apply all archive logs on it)
