how to retrieve values if user entered in Mixed case means (case insesitive)?
We don't have control when user enters values and it might be SMITH or Smith or smith or SmIth.
How can write the query to get this kind of mixed case data?
how to use APEX_ITEM.text for where the source for this comes from user input values and not for an underlying table.I have a report where three columns are coming from an actual table (one being a checkbox for selection) but then also have two additional fields on the screen that are not from a table but placeholder fields for user's to enter data.
For example, my query looks like this:

I have a table second_table which has a username and code field. A username (not the primary key) may be entered multiple times with different codes, or a single code 'ALL', in which case, the codes have to be fetched from 'third_table'. I am unable to form a 'case' clause to handle the fact that a list has to returned when the 'code' field from the second_table returns 'ALL'.
e.g.
Second_table

B 23
B 56
B 33
Third_Table

67
78
So, when the user asks the codes for user A, he should get 67 and 78 and when he asks for the user B, he should get 23,56 and 33
I've got table with mixed address column, it consists of Country, City, House No, App. No, postal code, the data is all stored in a single column with delimiter characters. In most cases order of parts is the same, but not always. In most cases parts have appropriate prefix - h. for House No, App for App. No, c. for City (it's not English language), but not always.
How do I divide mixed address column into parts? I know there are certainly "professional" tools out there for address matching and corrections, but even these can struggle. I know also that trying to normalize postal addresses is almost always wrong idea.
That's technical task of Customer... I should divide at least 90% of rows into appropriate columns. The quantity of rows is too big for human eye.

i am doing a data transformation using the following function
FLOOR(ONSET_TPQ-VAX_DATE)
Where ONSET_TPQ and VAX_DATE are both dates. Now in a situation where the ONSET_TPQ precedes VAX_DATE I want the result to be null for those records. As an example if ONSET_TPQ= 2000 and VAX_DATE=2010
I want the result to be NULL as I dont want negative values. Any exact SQl syntax on how to do that. DO i write a case statement?

I have two tables which have identical schemas, one table (tbl_store) is used to hold the latest version, and the other table (tbl_store_audit) holds previous versions. When the latest record is updated, it is inserted into the tbl_store_audit table as a revision, and the updated details are used as the latest record.
For example: The latest version is held in tbl_store, however the tbl_store_audit may hold 5 records which are the past records used before changes were made - these are seen as revisions.
I want to be able to compare what has changed between each revision in the tbl_store_audit table. For example: Out of the 10 columns, the change between revision 1 and revision 2 was the size from XL to XXL. The change between revision 3 and revision 4 was the size XS to M and price 4.99 to 10.99, and so on.
Eventually i will create an APEX report that will show the user the revision number and what was changed from and to.

I am trying to find retrieve value/row where for a particular rtrn_id , the possibility of having a country code of "CA"(for Canada) and "US" or "HK" (US or Hong Kong respectively) exists.
I framed my query the following way and it does not retrieve any result in Production and I believe there are a few values/rows in the "table1".

i need to retrieve html using oracle and setting the correct user agent.I used the ut_http package and his fuction utl_http.request_pages.
I worked perfectly for me, execpt that i could be able to setup the correct user-agent.I read the documentation and i found that this instruction utl_http.set_header(req, 'User-Agent', 'Mozilla/4.0'); should fix my problem, but when i used it, nothing changed and the webserver didn't recognize the correct user agent.

My Form consists two Hierarchical trees. When I select a node from first tree and I press Move Right (>>) Button the selected node should move to the second tree. Similarly when I select a node from second tree and press move Left button(<<) it should move to the first tree.

I am customizing a standard form to allow user to copy values. It works fine when I open the form, query a record and hit copy. But if I copy something to the clipboard from the records before I hit copy button, the form behaves differently and throw errors. Can I do something before the copy procedure work to eliminate this error?

I have to compare a string entered in a form with a series of English strings in back-end PL/SQL( using LIKE operator )
But it so happens, the string entered in the form is specific to the language used in the country. for ex. in Dutch, it is entered in Dutch language.
So on comparing, it fails as the PL/SQL compares it with English Strings.
FRM-40202: Field must be entered.I have a custom form,developed by someone few years ago. While doing a F11 (query-find) in this custom forms in Oracle application, I get the message FRM-40202 Field must be entered because I have some mandatory fields.Below are the steps I follow to reproduce this bug.
- Open custom form
- Enter data/values in all mandatory fields.
- save. It saved back in database.
- then CTRL+F11 to see all the records.
- Only first two records are showing in the screen.
- And "FRM-40202: Field must be entered." at the bottom.

I have a column named account_detail of data type Varchar2(70). I want to enforce a law such that all data being entered in this column is entered as

which means there is a space after every two digits. How do I achieve this through oracle forms, is there a way in the property pallette through which I can set it's property to reflect this change or should I do this with key-next-item.
I'm trying to add a column in an existing form. I added a text item and defined it as a database item. When I tried to rename the item the message (frm-15500 valid and unique object name must be entered)appears, and therefore not able to exit the property Platte.
Is there a way I can exit the Platte and should I've first add the column to the data block and then rename in my form ?
