my colleague added a new node to RAC yesterday, i found that can not access via IE, but dispaly em has started in background.

TZ set to PRC

For all my client machine Internet Explorer 8 is not working. Internet Explorer 7 is working fine . For a machine with Internet Explorer 8 after Installing Mozilla Firefox it's working under Mozilla Firefox Browser well.

I am looking for a possibility to get the current language from Firefox and/or Internet Explorer.
I searched through the Mozilla Developer Center but could not find an interface to realize that. For IE I also didn't find anything.
I know that IE adapts the current system language from the OS, but can I readout this value?

I am unable to open Oracle 9 iSQL window in internet explorer 6. And i have two oracle version installed in my system are 9i and 10g.Now i am able to open the iSQL windows of 10g but not the 9i. It's happen after installing the Oracle 10g in system.

I have installer oracle 11i database, with oracle 10g forms for development.When I am trying to open test form in oracle 10g form only Internet explorer is opening with blank screen, while it is connected to oracle database (version 11i).
Oracle 11i is on windows 2003 ent server and Oracle 10g is on windows 2000 professional...

we encounter a problem with a 2-nodes RAC with 11gR2 SE : Database RAC is correctly running but we encounter problems using RAC TNS entry, obtaining the message ORA-01033.We can access to the DB using a TNS entry using each one of IP addresses but when we use the SCAN address, it fails. 2 weeks ago RAC2 node could connect perfectly with the SCAN address but RAC1 (used as a client) obtained error message almost 30% of tries.
We made a reboot of RAC1 node and now SCAN address works correctly from RAC1 and RAC2 (used as a client) fails systematically with SCAN address but works perfectly with direct access to the database.On both nodes, SCAN address is perfectly resolved by DNS server, cluster seems correct, listeners seems correct...We have opened an SR on Metalink 4 weeks ago but we don't progress.

I'm connecting from SQL Server to ORACLE (ORACLE is linkedserver) and I'm trying to find out when ORACLE started and how long it has been running. Is there query or command in ORACLE that I can use to check this? Is there more than one option to find this out and is it same for all ORACLE versions or diffferent from version to version?

i m facing a problem in my databse when going to startup. sql> startup ora:00824- can not set sga_target due to existing inernal setting see alert log for more information . when i checked the alert log file i found
cannot set sga_target with statistics_level=basic. acutally last time i change the parameter statistics_level=basic scope=spfile (typical to basic).now my database is not open.what can i do to startup the database.I have no any type of backup.

I've changed the ip address of the enterprise manager grid control server. But oms could not be started. I got the error below:

Using Oracle 10g Form Builder, I can connect to the database, compile the form successfully but when I try to run the form by clicking Program/Run form, it opens a webpage(explorer) and displays ?ORACLE FORMS? label, but does not show the form.
After that IE encounters an error and asks me to notify Microsoft Corp. I have noticed that in Start OC4J Instance window 3 new rows:

When I invoke SOAP Web-Service using APEX_WEB_SERVICE.MAKE_REQUEST, then I'm able to get response from web-service. However all German character are replaced by JUNK data. However data is coming fine when I test web-services using SOAP UI.
I tried to invoke web-service using UTL_HTTP. However when I use UTL_HTTP, then I'm getting following error.
ORA-24247: network access denied by access control list
<li> Why German characters are replaced by Junk data while invoking web-service from APEX, while it's working fine from SOAP UI
<li> When I can access web-service successfully using APEX_WEB_SERVICE, then why it's throwing ORA-24247 error when I call using UTL_HTTP?

I am using Oracle Internet Directory exclusively. There are no tnsnames files in my environment. When I try to connect to database "A" on server "A" from server "B" using username/passwd@A, I get this error.ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connectThis problem ONLY occurs from server "B"
. I have ten servers ALL configured identically, but only one has this issue.Remember ALL ldap.ora and sqlnet.ora files are identical. They are all using the same OID.
