Oracle SGA Components Manual Allocation

Phyical memory : 420G My database version : 11.2.0.3 running on linux machine.
Memory_target = 200G . I would like to allocate this value to following SGA components. I don't want to automatic memory management enabled. how to split 200G for following components. Is there any percentage for each components ?

db_keep_cache_size
large_pool_size
java_pool_size
shared_pool_size
pga_aggregate_target
streams_pool_size

Is it possible to create a completely self-contained installer that deploys all the Oracle files along with the application (i.e. the user doesn't need to install instant client, mess around with configuring path environment variables, etc.)?

What if as part of the installer, I need to test a connection string entered by the user? That seems to be the sticking point for me. Even after installing the instant client (from the x64 xcopy zip file using install.bat), the installer is not able to connect to the database.
And, the application is 64 bit only (we need the 64 bit Crystal Reports runtime), meaning I've got the 64 bit Oracle instant client installed. I suspect that might be the problem since the msiexec installer process is 32 bit.

we want to truncate a oracle Table in the Oracle DB. After the truncate the fact table will be loaded again. After the new load in the fact table we want to tell the times ten db to refresh the cache table. The cache Table is a user owned read-only cache group with no autorefresh. We want to tell times ten in a PL/SQL Block from Oracle DB that starts the refresh from the cache group in times ten. The refresh should not be a autorefresh because the refresh should only start if the fact table will new loaded after the truncate.

Using OUI i have removed the Enterprise Manager DBConsole component and now i need to reinstall them. After starting runinstaller i choose Advance and then Custom and i check the Enterprise Manager DBConsole and after i click on next it says cannot install on the same ORACLE_HOME. How can i reinstall the removed components using OUI. This is not Grid Control

There is a section that is called Data Loading in Shared components in every application that says: A Data Load Table is an existing table in your schema that has been selected for use in the data loading process, to upload data. Use Data Load Tables to define tables for use in the Data Loading create page wizard. The question is: How ca i select a table in my schema for use in the data loading process to upload data using the wizard? There is a packaged application that is called Sample Data loading. That sample is use for specific tables right? I tried to change those tables for the ones that I want to use but I could not because I could not add the tables that I want to use....

We are planning the RAC installations. We are allocate 3TB on HP SAN Storage to be used to setup rac environment with 2 nodes.
Question.
1. Do we accept one 3 TB from SAN engineers or ( Which RAID)
2. Multiple Luns totality to 3 TB.
3. Remember this is 11g R1 OCR and VOTING DISK cannot be managed by ASM.

I am using 11g version, and trying to understand the Memory Allocation.
1) The new feature Memory target parameters are dynamic? is in it? But when I set with the ALTER SYSTEM... it was not changed, then I had to restart the DB.
2) With the new 2 parameters (MEMORY_MAX_TARGET, MEMORY_TARGET), the SGA_MAX_SIZE parameter should be 0, right? But in my case, the SGA_MAX_SIZE value is automatically assigned.

1. An associate must be allocated to at-least and a maximum of 100% at any given point of time
2. User selects 2 dates between which inconsistency of allocation needs to be displayed
If the end user selects 1st Apr 2012 and July 31st 2012 between which reports needs to be generated, am looking for the following output
ASSOCIATE_ID FROM_DATE TO_DATE ALLOCATION_INCONSISTENCY

The Allocation_Inconsistency denotes that the associate has a deficit of allocation between the 2 dates. The associate with ID 2 has a deficit of 75% of allocation from 1st Apr 2012 till 15th Apr 2012. Similarly 25% deficit between 16th Apr 2012 and 15th June 2012 and so on so forth. However, there is no allocation deficit for the month of July as he is allocated 100% for this month and hence is not appearing in the expected output.

Restarting oracle services through services.msc is faster then manual (In command prompt).
Even If we have heavy transaction on the oracle database But we can restart the database within minutes by using services.msc But It will take more time in command prompt(sql>shu immediate). So shall we assume here that services.msc is using shut abort command while restarting the database?

I want to change space allocation for character columns in my database, So it will store them as 'CHAR' and not 'BYTE'.my character set is

And then I want to see that when I create a table with some varchar2 column,The space for it will be allocated by chars, and not by bytes! However, when I run a check of create table, this is what I get:

SQL> create table check_char (some_name varchar2(10));
Table created.
SQL> select a.char_used
2 from all_tab_columns a
3 where table_name='CHECK_CHAR'
4 and a.owner='SYS';

What is the reason for space allocation to remain in BYTES and not CHAR, or what else I can check?

while executing a clone script i got the below error : -

Here i understand that RMAN couldn't find which SPFILE to use to restore the target DB.
How do i check for the DB_UNIQUE_NAME in recovery catalog?
The proposed solution that i found was Use the FOR DB_UNIQUE_NAME option to specify the name of the instance whose parameter file you want to restore. how to implement this in my clone script?

manual DB creation.I gone through the below steps:
1) created appropriate folders.
2) Copied a PFILE from an existing DB and changed the contents like DB name etc...
3)Then I Created a text file called %ORACLE_HOME%DATABASEinitmuktha.ora with the following contents: ifile=c:pragpfileinitmuktha.ora
4) Then i set Oracle SID (Through Environment variable in MY COMPUTER --> PROPERTIES...)
5) Then I Created a Windows service for the DB.
6) startup nomount pfile= c:pragpfileinitmuktha.ora
7) Then I ran the database creation command.
The DB was created but when i log in again, it is looking for the pfile in the another DB's location rather than from "%ORACLE_HOME%DATABASE". Where i missed out to create new oracle_home folder?

I am running some small tests here in my test env, using dataguard. I have configured the Primary and Standby with Maximum Availability... they're running just fine. Now i want to execute a failover test (i have already ran a Switchover test with the Broker successfully).
My question is very simple, at my point of view: What are the required steps to execute a successful manual failover? For example, i have my env as follows:
- Primary: prim1
- Standby: stdb1
Suppose that the primary database crashes in an unrecoverable way... is this case a manual failover would be necessary.
To do so, i would have to execute the following command, in my Standby database:
-- stdb1 is the standby database... DGMGRL> failover to stdb1
The above command is correct? Are there any required configurations after the failover? I read the Oracle Docs, and it says

I have two SQL reports on the same page.
Those SQL reports are built with apex_items. Afterwards I'm updating them with a manual process (apex_application.g_fxx for ..loop). I'm using different IDs on both reports for the apex_items.
It's working fine for the first report displayed. But not for the second one. If I swap the two reports, it's always the first that will be updated.
Does it mean that we cannot use the apex_application to update more than one report and that I have to use a page per report?
I'm using APEX 4.0.0.00.46

if it is possible to create a failover setup without RAC and DG...For example:
I have 11.2.0.2 database (with EBS 12.1.3) on dbnode1...I would like to create another node to failover my primary datbas in case of any failure.
Steps i will follow:
1: creat dbnode2
2: install same os as dbnode1
3: install same oracle as dbnode1
4: share dbnode2
database between dbnode1
and dbnode2
Now, if hardware fails on dbnode1, can i manually failover and start my database on dbnode2?
I know we can do with RAC and DG,BUT without RAC and DG If not possible..
