There is a section that is called Data Loading in Shared components in every application that says: A Data Load Table is an existing table in your schema that has been selected for use in the data loading process, to upload data. Use Data Load Tables to define tables for use in the Data Loading create page wizard. The question is: How ca i select a table in my schema for use in the data loading process to upload data using the wizard? There is a packaged application that is called Sample Data loading. That sample is use for specific tables right? I tried to change those tables for the ones that I want to use but I could not because I could not add the tables that I want to use....

in APEX 3 i always had a report showing all linked pages and components...
The Report was located here: Home>Application Builder>Application ID>Application Reports>Page Components>Related Pages and Components I have now updated to APEX 4 and i can't find this report anymore.

I am starting to use the interactive reports in version Apex 4.1.1 but I am unable to get the report to show null records on the first load. Is there a setting that would stop the data from loaded on first load or would I have to customize that option.
Some of the columns have a lot of data and therefore take a long time to load so I would like to avoid that.

I have created two regions in one page. I created some items but would like to share the items for both regions. When you create the item, you have to select which region it belongs to. Those items are supposed to be used by both regions, so I wonder if it is possible to share the items instead of creating the same items for region 2. I know I can create application item, but how to share items among different regions in the same page.

I am trying to load data into various tables through a perl script using sql loader. Log files are created which say rows successfully loaded, but there is no data in the database. is there any way of explicitly saying commit with sql loader command (except for the rows options, Ihave tried using that also, with rows=1, but it doesn't work)?

I want to load data into more tables from many files ,based on first column value,which is FILLER field.i am trying to test this scenario with two oracle tables with similar definition. and load one record on each table using WHEN/POSITION keywords. for this , i added first column as reference column in the data which i have in ctl file itself.
1st table loaded with 1st record. But, 2nd record not loading.if i missed anything with WHEN/POSITION keyword ?
This is the error in log file for 2nd table(WD1):
Record 2: Rejected - Error on table WD1, column TAB.
ORA-01841: (full) year must be between -4713 and +9999, and not be 0
Table WD1:
0 Rows successfully loaded.
1 Row not loaded due to data errors.
1 Row not loaded because all WHEN clauses were failed.

I created a "Select List" in the Shared Components area as follows:
My goal is to create a shared select list that can be used on any form for a particular Field.
IF :P10_FK_RSTA_CODE is NULL THEN
RETURN
'select col_description, col_code_pk
from CODE_TABLE
where col_active_ind = ''Y''';

Which works great, but how can I make the select list work for the same column on a different form? Because :P10_FK_RSTA_CODE is hard-coded in the function, I can't reuse this Function from a different form. (I could rename the Field on every form to the same name, but I'm hoping there is a better way.)
Is there a way I can pass in a variable from the Field Item to make this dynamic where I can use it on any form?

I want to show progress bar every time when page loads.

I have a page which, upon page load, some regions should be hidden. I've created a dynamic action which hides a couple regions (on page load), however I can see the regions for a moment as the page is loading, then disappear. Is there a way to ensure the regions are hidden when the page is rendered?
I've also tried using javascript, but I have the same issue (the regions are visible for a moment, then disappear).

Should the page load D.A. fire not until the dom is ready? Or is this not necessarily the case.I'm running a page over a slow connection, so the event (true action: execute JS) is being executed before the page is ready to handle the code. I would think this event should not run until the DOM is ready.
I have confirmed this by wrapping the code in document.ready, and it behaves as expected.

Basically I have a report that as part of it's source sql takes in an element from a select list.
E.G. SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE table_column = : P1_SELECTLIST
This works fine when the user selects an option from the select list however the first time the page runs it always returns data not found. The options correctly appear in the select list as they should without any nulls although it seems the select list is still initializing as null. I have been told to try and add a computation before the header on the select list item, although I'm not sure if this would work/how to do this.?

I have a table that reads something like this

I want to assign Routes (concatenated) to an item on page load... as an example for NewYork it should read like this
P2_ROUTE = 2, 4, 5

My collection is not working as expected, what could be the issue here. This is what i did,
1. I created a collection in a process to fire on page load
if apex_collection.collection_exists(p_collection_name=>'MMMM') then
apex_collection.delete_collection(p_collection_name=>'MMMM');
end if;
APEX_COLLECTION.CREATE_OR_TRUNCATE_COLLECTION(p_collection_name => 'MMMM');
2. On my page i have a text field P1_text1 when i enter value into text field like ="sample data" i want this data loaded into my collection, so i created a button and added a process(on submit - before computations...) so it should insert into the collection when i click the button but no data is loaded, process:
APEX_COLLECTION.ADD_MEMBER(
p_collection_name => 'MMMM',
p_c001 => :P1_TEXT1,
p_c002 => 'TESTDATA' );
3. when i run the below query it shows "no data found" ,
SELECT c001,c002
FROM APEX_COLLECTIONS

how to combine APEX 4.2 with jquery mobile componentsOn one page with a hole bunch of components there is also a popup-div<div id="myPopup" data-role="popup">

This all works fine, besides the face that it only works after refreshing the page! The page gets loaded via js: $.mobile.changePage('f?p='+ $v('pFlowId') +':20:' + $v('pInstance') { transition:"slide", reloadPage:true });...
which also works fine so far. That same problem I had before when I was using a dialog instead of the popup. - only showing after refreshing the page.
This certainly must have something to do with how JQM loads and renders the page (besides the APEX-job) - a rather basic issue. I have also tried different ways of calling the page, with no difference to that problem.

I have recently upgraded our test APEX environment from 3.2.1 to 4.1.1.00.23. Everything went smoothly - I have only one small but annoying problem. In both administration and administration services some background graphics are not displayed. This issue occurs only under Mozilla Firefox (in MS IE it OK). The application frontend is OK in both browsers.
Under Firefox, I inspected the sourcecode in Firebug and the relative links to images. e.g.
background: url("../apex/builder/bg-region-darkblue-r.gif") no-repeat scroll
show message "Failed to load the given URL".
somehow related to the fact that our application is accessed via apache proxy. Because when I open the administration and/or administration services page in FF directly on the server, it displays correctly (incl. images).
But the network (Apache proxy) configuration is exactly the same as in the previous version of APEX where we had no problem. Something must have changed in the sourcecode of the new version.

I am on APEX 4.1.1, db 11g and I have a report which is quite slow to retrieve results from its query. The page has some filter fields (e.g. store code, dept code) in addition to the generic search field.
When the user lands on this page (from a menu page), the query runs before the page displays and this typically takes 1-2 mins without any filters yet set. The usual browser loading indicators are not obvious to the user and they might not be aware that it is working on the request.
I want it so that it will only run the query AFTER allowing the user to get to the page, let the user fill in some filter criteria and then click on the GO button. Therefore the query will run after the page is submitted. When you hit the GO button on the interactive report, a nice rotating apex_loader.gif appears, making it obvious to the user that it is working on the request.
I would prefer NOT to create 2 pages, one for user filter, and a second for the actual report as I have many reports/inquiries which fit this category and I would prefer NOT to have to create pairs of pages for each.

We installed the packaged application P-Track in a schema called cpd in Apex version 4.2.0.00.27. When running it, the error below occurs. Essentially it appears that some of the tables are missing as the package does not compile due to tables not being found. We had no trouble running other sample packaged apps. I would really like to look at P-Track. Any problem with installing P-Track?

i want a select statement that selects all from table2 where the specified table1_id is not in the list of the table1_id in table3
for example if i want the list for id 11 it should return (23, 24)
i came up with the following but it didn't work

i know my explanation is not that clear..

I am using apex 4.0.2.00.07. I have a page with two regions. The first region has only one row and I have no problems accessing it and inserting those values into the table this is what I used to access one column from that one row APEX_APPLICATION.G_F03(1)
The second region is an interactive report, to which I have managed to add a checkbox and a textbox.
1)So if a checkbox has been checked off the row should be inserted
2) if the textbox has been entered it should replaceone of the values.
My question is how to access the second region? I started a loop based on the rows in the collection but that is as far as I got.

I'm new to XML and got a requirement to parse xml and load it into different tables.
Here is the XML file which i need to parse

XML has a parent element Interaction and each Interaction has different elements like Consumer, Campaign, Response, Survey, MultiSuppressions. Now i need to insert Consumer element data into table1, Response and Campaign elements data into table2, Survey data into Table3 and Multisuppression data into table4 with interaction number (this can be rownumber) so that i can link all the tables based on interaction number.
I googled on parsing xml and found xmltable can be used to parse xml. I wrote below procedure, but it will not work if i include MultSuppressions (will get cartesians).
