I need to load (using SQL Loader) an huge XML file, with several hundreds of records into an Oracle Table. The XML file schema is pretty simple, and it's anything like this:
<dataroot> <record> <companyname>LimitSoft S.A.</companyname> <address>Street Number 1</address>
[code]...
I'm trying to use the help included in this link [URL]...
When they refer to schema[URL].... what should I use?? I do not need to use the Oracle website to register anything, right?
Here is my problem, i need to create some files with my own format(let say 5000 records each) from a huge data table (May contain 5 Million records). And i want this creation to be multi threaded.
so how can i form queries efficiently to fetch records like 1..5000 and 5001..10000 and so on. I can form some thing like select * from table where rownum<5000 and not exists ( already fetched records) . but it is not the efficient one.
Need to change the precision of a column in a existing table. Statistics about the table
* has over 130 columns * More than 300 million records * Column to modify is #121 which has data * No primary key defined
Since the column has data, it is not possible to modify with a simple Alter.
Second option - create temp column in same table, update from original, put null in original, alter, update back from temp, drop the temp column. This approach is very expensive and time consuming.
I am trying to delete 3 million records of data from huge table which already consists of 3 billion records.
This is hitting performance of DB and halting other activities of my users. Is there any easy way to delete such data fast. I have tried with forall delete but it is even taking lot of time.
I would like to install Oracle Express Edition on Linux. I have some troubles on x64 architecture of Linux with win32 progs that runs via wine. And I need Oracle for developing. So, I would like install x32 Oracle Express Edition, but I can't find it anywhere. Is it exists.
Why is Oracle Express Edition 32x exist for windows, but there is not Oracle Express Edition 32x for Linux? We are using widely Oracle 10g. And there is many special difference with 11g. But there is no anywhere 10g version. Where can I download it (for Linux)?
I have a table which have 300+ columns and have 13 million rows. It is on a 32 kb block size. This is a table in data ware house environment. There no# of rows in the table haven't changed much but I see that the time taken to collect statistics have increased significantly.Initially it took only 15 minutes (with the same 13M rows) now it runs for 4+ hours. The max parallel servers is 4 (which is unchanged). The table is not partitioned.
OS: HP UX Itanium Database: Oracle 11g (11.2.0.2)
Command is: exec dbms_stats.gather_table_stats(ownname=>'ABC',tabname=>'ABC_LOAD',estimate_percent=>dbms_stats.auto_sample_size,cascade=>TRUE,DEGREE=>dbms_stats.auto_degree);
I would like to understand:
1) What could have been the causes of this change in time. 15 minutes to 4+hours ? 2) How can we gather statistics of huge table at a faster rate?
I want to do horizontal fragmentation of a table say employee. But fragmentation is often related to distributed databases. So i want to ask how can i do this on my single home computer? list out the steps that should be performed. I saw the concept of link but really failed to understand that.
I have downloaded oracle 10g express edition. I have tried to connect forms 6i in that in windows xp environment but when i tried to connect it is not connecting and giving "don't send" error.
If there is any patch to connect forms 6i into oracle 10g express edition.
I am running Ubuntu 13.04. I am attempting to install Oracle XE 11g R2. It seems that everything was fine until I got to configuration of the database as root I ran /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure command. I have received the following output Starting Oracle Net Listener...Done Configuring database...
Database Configuration failed. Look into /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/config/log for details
When I look at the logs I get the following error ORA-01034: ORACLE not available. After receiving this error I have attempted to start Oracle manually.
sqlplus "/as sysdba"

am having problems starting Oracle Database 10g Express Edition on Fedora. Here is what I did in order to start it:
[root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# /etc/init.d/oracle-xe start [root@x1-6-00-c0-9f-bb-ba-57 ~]# xhost + access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
I have a table. It's name is INSTITUTION. It has a NUMBER INS_ID and NVARCHAR2(50) INS_NAME . INS_NAME can contain Turkish characters, such as "ğ,ü,ş,ç,ö". According to business logic, there can not be a repetition on the INS_NAME.User will enter institution name from a textbox in ASP.NET , and I check this name in database from c sharp code, if there is no repetition, we will add this record.
The problem is; when user enter a instition name that contains Turkish character, there is a duplication. If there is a instition name is *"su işleri"* , the both query; SELECT * FROM INSTITUTION WHERE INS_NAME = *'su işleri'*; and SELECT * FROM INSTITUTION WHERE INS_NAME = *'su isleri'*; returns no result, even though there it is.But if instition name is "oracle corporation" (there is no Turkish character) it query successfully. I have the same problem in Toad for Oracle 11.5.1.2. When I query database from toad SELECT * FROM INSTITUTION, the phrase *"su işleri"* has appeared. But when I query SELECT * FROM INSTITUTION WHERE INS_NAME = *'su işleri'*; , there is again no result. When I connect oracle database directly and perform the query SELECT * FROM INSTITUTION , the phrase *"su isleri"* (not *"su işleri"* ) has appeared.
Here are the language settings of the database:
National Language Support National Language Parameter Value NLS_CALENDAR______________GREGORIAN NLS_CHARACTERSET__________WE8MSWIN1252 NLS_COMP__________________BINARY NLS_CURRENCY______________TL NLS_DATE_FORMAT__________DD/MM/RRRR NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE________TURKISH NLS_DUAL_CURRENCY_________YTL [code]....
I have used a HUAWEI dongle directly connected to my PC. First, the operating system and Oracle start up, then I connect to the internet using the Huawei Mobile Partner utility. Any application can connect to Oracle and use it correctly. All OK. Now I have added a 3G router which is connected to the PC by ethernet cable and has the Huawei dongle connected to a USB port on the router. All works correctly if I follow the sequence:
1) Start the PC with the router switched off, and wait until Oracle has fully started.
2) Power the router up and wait 2 minutes until Windows says the 100 Mb ethernet link is open. Oracle.exe in Task Manager is about 210 Mb, and sometimes more, depending on activity.
However, if I switch on the router first and then start the PC, Oracle does not start correctly. It rejects connection requests forever more, indicating Network Adapter could not establish the connection: Code 17002.In Task Manager Oracle.exe occupies only 145Mb. What can I do to get it to start correctly ? I can dig into Listener.ORA, TNSNAMES.ORA and HOSTS without any problems, and have often modified them manually (not the case here), but logs and traces escape me !
I decided to use Oracle 11g XE on Linux Mint. I read this tutorial Oracle 11gR2 Express Edition on Linux Ubuntu 11.10 howto included the seventh part. However, I did a minor change in the script given. Indeed, since Ubuntu 12.04, a bug appeared. So I use the following script :
cat > /etc/init.d/oracle-shm <<-EOF #! /bin/sh # /etc/init.d/oracle-shm # # case "$1" in start)
[code]...
I already uninstalled and reinstalled Oracle 3-4 times, but nothing else happened. When I want to configure oracle-xe, I have a such message :
Starting Oracle Net Listener...Done Configuring database... Database Configuration failed. Look into /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/config/log for detailsAnd this is the content of the file postDBCreation.log : begin * ERROR at line 1: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available Process ID: 0 Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0
my customer wants to create a standby database for his production database (Oracle Standard Edition 11g R2 @ Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit). Now any proof-of-concept which explains shortly the concept and how to achieve it.
I am starting to use the interactive reports in version Apex 4.1.1 but I am unable to get the report to show null records on the first load. Is there a setting that would stop the data from loaded on first load or would I have to customize that option.
Some of the columns have a lot of data and therefore take a long time to load so I would like to avoid that.
There is a section that is called Data Loading in Shared components in every application that says: A Data Load Table is an existing table in your schema that has been selected for use in the data loading process, to upload data. Use Data Load Tables to define tables for use in the Data Loading create page wizard. The question is: How ca i select a table in my schema for use in the data loading process to upload data using the wizard? There is a packaged application that is called Sample Data loading. That sample is use for specific tables right? I tried to change those tables for the ones that I want to use but I could not because I could not add the tables that I want to use....
I am very much new to this vast world of Pl/SQL. Recently I have moved to pl/sql domain. I want to write a package to move data from Table A to Table B by looking up the table C. Bellow is skeleton of my package.
1) I have to load data from source_a to target_b. 2) If value of column X1(source_a) matched with value of column Z1( lookup_c) then only we will process the recordsmeans those records will be the valid records. Rest of the records will be dropped. 3) From the valid records If X2 != Z2 then call a procedure pk_rec.generate_Y2(X2) to generate the value of Y2 {pk_rec.generate_Y2 already existing no need to create) else take the records form Z2 and use it to load the y2. 4) From the valid records If X3 != Z3 then call a procedure pk_rec.generate_Y3(X3) to generate the value of Y3 {pk_rec.generate_Y3 already existing no need to create) else take the records form Z3 and use it to load the y3. 5) X4,X5 are directly loaded into Y4,Y5.
There is one table with data in ORCL1 database.I have created the table using create table statement in ORCL2 database. Now i want to insert only the data into table.
I know one method ... drop the table i created using drop table statement and then create the table with data using export/import.
Is there any other way we can load data into empty table?
