Installation :: Netca - Connect To Microsoft Active Directory

Oracle Database 11.2.0.3.0 64bitI have followed most steps of this link and I came to a stop at the point where I use the Network Configuration Assistant.I have selected the following
1) Directory Usage Configuration>
2) Microsoft Active Directory>
3) Operation (2nd): Select the directory server you want to use, and configure the directory server for Oracle usage.>
4) Input my AD hostname>
5) Then it displays a message that "The directory contains an older version of the required Oracle Schema. Directory usage configuration cannot continue without the correct Oracle Schema. If you have authorization to create the directory schema then you can upgrade the Oracle Schema now. Would you like to upgrade the Oracle Schema? I have selected: Yes, I want to upgrade... and thereafter I get the errors:
The Assistant is unable to create or upgrade the Oracle Schema for the following reason:
ConfigException: Could not upgrade the Oracle Schema: oracle.net.config.ConfigException: TNS-004409 Directory Service Errorcaused by: oracle.net.config.DirectoryServiceException: TNS - 04431: DirectoryService: no entries foundcaused by: oracle.net.ldap.NNFLException.You may need to upgrade the directory schema from a specific computer which directly supports your directory type.

I can't seem to get TNS Listener to install using a responsefile in Oracle 9i... I've been using the netca.rsp file that comes included on disc one of the Oracle 9i Release 2 cds. I've tried calling netca.rsp from inside a custom install response file template...

but when I check the services in Administrative settings the listener has not been created...I'm using OraInst as my staging directory.
I've also tried using the "Using Configuration Assistants in Non-Interactive Mode" section at: URL
to the netca.rsp file, since it wasn't there by default...
I've also tried going to my staging directory from the command prompt and running E:OraInst> launch.exe -silent -responseFile netca.rsp where launch.exe is a copy from launch.exe generated in oracleora92in
The OUI threw the subject error during installation of Grid Infrastructure 12.1.0.1 on OEL 6.4 with Job Role Separation. This occurred after successfully running root.sh when the OUI started the NETCA task . The solution was very simple: go to /u01/app/12.1.0 and "chmod g+w grid". At that point I was able to click "retry" and it worked perfectly. There were no other errors or issues during the entire installation. Just passing it along.
I have task to integrate AD users with oracle ebs r12 . Is there any mechanism to do it directly without OID between oracle ebs and Active directory during login to ebs or i have to install OID to finish that task .
I'm checking the possibility to use Active Directory to log on the our Oracle databases. But only for dba's and developers, not application users. We use Oracle 10.2.0.4 (and soon 11g) As OS on the databaseserver we use AIX5L 5.3
Is it possible to implement Active Directory on databases running on AIX ? If it is possible, what must be done to get it to work, software ... etc ?
I have a table in Oracle with a column userid and i have a userid column in Active Directory. based on this i want to query the Network ID and update in one of the Group in the Active Directory. how to get the results?

I have been asked to look at making an existing Oracle server resilant. The technology I need to use are:
- Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP2 - Microsoft Cluster Services - Oracle Enterprise 11g release 2 - Oracle Fail-Safe (latest version available)
Unfortunately ApEX 4.1 and Mod_plsql are install on the existing stand-alone server. I'm afraid i know very little about Oracle and ApEX but i need to make a design decision and check fiesablilty.
I believe the HTTP service and Mod_plsql can be moved to a independant server which should work but ApEX itself must remian on the database server (i'm told).Will ApEX work in a MSCS setup? I can only find references to RAC support, RAC is out of scope.
I have oracle 10g up and running on Solaris 10, from windows I would like to connect to sql plus through windows authentication, for that I have already made sure that remote_auth = true and have created user in oracle with OPS$. But still I cannot connect.
I have the same setup but with oracle on windows server, the os authentication from windows clients works just fine.
does oracle 10g on solaris 10 supports windows os authentication?
our DB machines time is one hour ahead of Active Directory, as we sync our time with AD, is there any contribution of Database in the wrong time of solaris machines ? and for the resolution of problem, what can be checked at DB side.
What two Active Directory services are stopped when you install Active Directory before Oracle 10g? I know the error message for that and I know why it happened but I just need to know the two services so I can start them again. I think it happened because I installed Active Directory first so when I installed Oracle second it stopped two services and I just need to know them. The error message is:
Active Directory is missing binaries, please restart and try again
I want to install an active / passive Oracle Configuration for our new 11gR2 system. We do not want to go full blown RAC as yet. We already have an 11gR2 instance that I plan to CLONE to the production server(s).
So. detail the steps that I need to follow .
i.e. configure the 2 servers (VIFs/Interconnects) Install GRID/CRS Clone over the database (do I do this as a SINGLE NODE RAC?)

I am working on SLES 11 SP2 on zLinux and I am trying to install oracle 11gr2 silently. I was able to install the GI and it is running but when I try to install the oracle binaries I keep getting this error:
[FATAL] [INS-32035] Unable to create a new central inventory directory : /opt/oraInventory. CAUSE: The central inventory location provided is not empty.
The GI install created /opt/oraInventory and all the files are in there. I even changed the owner from grid:oinstall to oracle:oinstall but that did not work. When I did the install on SLES 11 SP1 I did not get this error.
I recently installed Oracle database 11g XE onto my home computer running Windows 32 bit, but I can't connect to the database. I also have Oracle 10g R2 installed on my computer, and I can still connect to it finely. When trying to make a connection in SQL DEVELOPER, I get this error

I am getting starting with rac environments. I need to configure a two nodes active/active with rac and I need to know if always using rac both nodes will be active or if I have to do that at some point when installing. I have reading some docs from oracle and others authors about rac and its configuration process but that is not understood for my yet.
I have 2 databases( A and B).. which shares common ORACLE_HOME.i configured 2 listeners through netca in different ports and both listener names are different...
But when I stop LISTENER.. both the listeners are getting stop and when i start both the listeners are up and running.. and I could see database B's services.. and vice versa.and when i tnsping , i am able to see port 1521 default port for database A.
when I run I bash, i have included ORACLE_HOME path... so should i add oracle_SID also there..if so, which SID should I add A or B? from where listener picks the default information???

We are using oracle as database in our application. For high availability we have a cluster of multiple nodes and the data is replicated using oracle streams. All the nodes in the cluster are active. We do not have any concept of stand-by.
Now we are planning to use oracle RMAN for backup and recovery. RMAN user's guide doesn't recommend any strategies for such deployments. It mainly focuses on primary/stand-by deployments.

I'd like to implement a treeview control with checkboxes in every node using Microsoft TreeView Control 6.0 in Forms 6i. I already did the following steps:
1. Download and register OCX (regsvr32 C:windowssystem32comctl32.ocx) 2. Draw OCX control on form. 3. Right click on OCX control and Insert Object "Microsoft TreeView Control 6.0" 4. Import OLE Library Interfaces "MSComctlLib.TreeCtrl.2" 5. Set Data Block Single Record to YES 6. Set OLE Class of Listview control to "MSComctlLib.TreeCtrl.2" 7. Rename treeview control to "ACX_TREE" and Data Block to "BLK_CONTROLS"
Now I need to populate the treeview adding code to the "WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE" Trigger, but I don't see how. how to do this and/or a place where I can find a working example?
I need to create a doc file using Microsoft Word where I can get data from an Oracle DB.
I search on MS Word, for something like ODBC (like in Excel and Access) but in vain.
I need to do this so I can format the data on the doc file in any way I want. Not like in Oracle Reports, where formatting is a little bit restrictive.
we are running a front end application on classic asp and we are using microsoft ole db version to connect to oracle 9i database.Now as the users are increasing daily, the application performance is degrading day by day.
my question is will oracle ole db increase the performance of my front end application. and is it possible for me to migrate from microsoft oledb to oracle oledb without much changes in the application.
