Forms :: Uploading Image Which Is Not Database Item From Operating System?

uploading an image item which is not a database item from the operating system. I am using forms 10g on db 10g. My platform is windows Vista sp1.
I am trying to use
GO_ITEM('BEEEE');
Set_Custom_Property( 'SALGRADE.BEEEE',1, 'READIMGFILE', 'C:/users/ajayia/Desktop/Beeee.jpg' ) ;
But I just get a blank image on runform. I am using WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger. I have tried it on when-new-form-instance, but also not working. The file am trying to upload is a JPG file format, but i cant find the file type in forms image item property. What can I change it to. Or how to i go about changing it.
i want to create a simple form in this form i want to upload the image on the image item with browse button that open a diaglog box that go to the image i select the image and this image is display on image item on the form.
is it possible to get information about free space on drive/path for example with some DBMS_*, UTL_* package or with stored function based on Java

I want to call a Web form which should upload the image from my local machine.For that I have created a form which will take necessary data about employee now I want to Insert Image for that employee into table as I am new I struct on the Image uploading form. Latter I have seen the Enter & Maintain form which have Picture button.Pressing this button we get one new web form open & we can upload our image from there.

My database run on Windows Server 2008 R2 and have 12GB of physical RAM.
Oracle version is 10.2.0.4.0 and my sga and pga are:
sga_max_size 4000M sga_target 3904M pga 1200M
I try to find out something about this issue and read many blogs but unfortunately I didnt find anything which worked. Should this have something to do with the fact that on the server we have oracle database and terminal server with 30-40 users?
We are in the process of gaining some space in our database. We identified a tablespace that occupied around 400GB of space. The datas are required for us. Hence, we truncated (with drop storage) the tables, gathered statistics and shrinked the tables. After doing that we found the datafile occupied around 32GB of space. We tried to resize it to 5 GB and we got "ORA-03297: file contains used data beyond requested RESIZE value". We could see that size in dba_free_space against that tablespace. We would like to give back everything to OS.
We also tried exporting the tablespace without rows, dropped the tablespace and re-created and imported again. But the datafile grows to around 32G and we are unable to resize it.
We are sure that the tablespace has only the table definitions without data. But we do not know why is it occupying around 32G of space and we could see that size in dba_free_space. We would like to give back everything to OS. How can we do that?
I've ran: DROP TABLESPACE x_tbs INCLUDING CONTENTS;

and I understand now that I should have stated "AND DATAFILES", However, too late now. the tablespace is removed, but the datafile x_tbs is still present in a folder of my OS.
Is it safe to manually remove it by deleting it from the operating system?
I got error "Upload New Image must be specified. Click browse to select an image from your local computer" while i upload image in shared components>image>create ...
my logo is saved in local drive D. when i browse file and click to upload it gives error that i mentioned. This is happening with every uploading weather its image or weather its plugin.

For example i want to save a picture in my database i will copy my picture in d:shahzaib1234.jpg now i want the path d:shahzaib save in database and when i copy my picture which path= d:shahzaib and file name = Design no its will automatically save in database.
I am having trouble changing a non-displayed field when a displayed field is changed.
When a user wants to un-assign a territory they want to just null the ID field (non-database item). I then need to null the PIDM field(not visible, database item) for that one record.
I tried this, but I end up putting null on all the records instead of just the one record, which ends up un-assigning all the territories not just the one.
Is there a way to assign the null to the PIDM field associated to the ID field of that particular record.
1. what is the good way (best solution) to store file means into Database or folder on sever. 2. In either case how can we do it means i need in detail on both sides (means on form side and also on database side). 3. Every file related to a record and may contain 1 or more then 1 files and maybe update files for one record many time and we must keep track of each update.
I have successfully Stored image file in Oracle 10g Database Table using Forms 6i. But I cannot retrieve that image and display on Forms 6i. Image Item on Form is not a database Item.

there is 1 row in it(id=1), just for display 2 images.

I'm working on Apex 4.1.1.00.23 in a 11g XE Data Base, I want to display a Image in a Report, I can do it using the "+BLOB Download Format Mask+", but the images displays at original size and I want to display them smaller.
I've read that you have to create a procedure, a SYNONYM and call them in the src of the img tag. as Zsuzsi Vadasz mentions here [URL] But I remember that I was able to create some items in reports with Apex functions, I think they were from APEX_ITEM Package, so I want to know if there is a way to create the "+Display Image+" item with one function of APEX.

I make for in it a browsing button for the uploaded file and take the path (e.g c:upload.xls) when the procedure of upload work. it always search for the path on the application server and thats wrong . I want it to search on the client machine for that path .

The field is a char type and no format mask is set.

I have a form which contains two canvas.In the first canvas, i have a data block which contains two columns(database item of both are no). In second canvas i have a list item.
My problem is how to pass the value(s) of this data block to the item list which is present in second canvas.
The requirement user has given is such that the user will enter different categories, and in the second canvas where the main datablock is present, will contain a list item in data block which should show the data entered by the user.
I have the scenario where I have a table(table 1) which stores the car code and the meaning of that code. I then have another table (table 2)which just stores the code. My datablock is based on the table which just contains the code(table 2). On my form if the user wishes to populate this field in the record I have a Lov which goes to the table 1 and retrieves the code and the meaning of it.
The code is then returned to the corresponding field in the datablock for table 2. this works fine in adding and editing. the user sees the meaning and whilst selecting from the lov populates the code field behind the scenes and everything works fine. However, my problem is when the user does a query only the code field is populated from table 2 (the code field is hidden to the user) therefore the meaning field is left blank as if there is no data there when in fact this is not the case.
