Here is what i have done.
1) Table created

(pcode number,
image blob);
2) Made a form with guidence present at orafaq
3) It reads and saves image BUT enter/execute query does not show the image
4) even the following code gives me 0
select dbms_lob.getlength(image) from prod

Jul 24, 2009how to display an image(blob) on a form . i have tried all i could but still failed to display it on the form.Yes i searched the forum without any break through. below is the code i used to create data block and upload photos (JPG). the only problem am facing is retrieving them from forms. am using form 6i 10g database.

Forms :: Display BLOB To Form's Image
Mar 2, 2010I am using developer 10.1.2.0.2 I have created a table to store the BLOB, which is jpg image originally. And I have uploaded those image into the database successfully.
Table name: images
img_id number
img blob
I know that I can set display one image each time if I create the image icon on the form using "data block wizard"..But the problem is that I cannot display multiple image on a form at the same time

The procedure responsible for creating the record receives the base64 information in a parameter of type CLOB. It then inserts it in a field of same type on the record. I want to transform the CLOB data into an image and display it back on the form.

Oct 27, 2011I have a table named PRODUCT (ID Number , ProductImage BLOB). I have inserted some records in. I want to create a form for user to view this table.
When I create Data Block, in Data Block Wizard, if I select option 'Table or View' to retrieve data, it's ok (Data type of item ProductImage is Image, when I run form and query, it display image normally).BUT, I want to retrieve data from stored procedure in a package. This is my package

I select option 'Stored Procedure' in Data Block Wizard, then select my stored procedure (my_pkg.Do_Query). Next I choose 2 columns from my stored procedure (ID, ProductImage). The wizard still applys data type of ProductImage as Image. I finish Data Block Wizard and Layout Wizard... run form, query and an error message display:
FRM-40364: The data type of item 'ProductImage' does not match the corresponding column in the stored procedure.
I try to change 'myImage PRODUCT.ProductImage%TYPE' -> 'myImage BLOB' in my package but still get that error.

Aug 19, 2010I need to implement a "Select All" function in a Data Block with All the Check boxes. It's a Database data block with 10 records to be displayed at a time. Check Box Items are in default layout. The requirement is when user checks/un-checks that select all check box which is placed on the left hand side of the other check boxes, it should select/deselect all the check box database items in that particular record.

I am trying to use

But I just get a blank image on runform. I am using WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger. I have tried it on when-new-form-instance, but also not working. The file am trying to upload is a JPG file format, but i cant find the file type in forms image item property. What can I change it to. Or how to i go about changing it.

scenario b)
If photo in color with
width : 124 pixels
height: 155 pixels
horizontal resolution : 75dpi
vertical resolution : 75dpi
bit depth : 24
size file : 14KB
Above 2 scenario:
My form 6 program can successful display the photo for scenario a , while for scenario b, my form 6 program failed to display the photo.

But the image is not shown. We only see broken image icon.With right click on broken icon, we can save it and it's actual image we want to display.
If we call procedure like: URL.....

May 9, 2010While there's numerous QAs about inserting an image into the DB using the Data Block, how does one remove an image? Obviously there's the "UPDATE ... SET X = EMPTY_BLOB();", however, that kills the Data Block/Form's flow, and it doesn't update.
I've tried a few things:
* :CONTROL.IMG1 := NULL; (bad bind variable)
* :CONTROL.IMG1 := EMPTY_BLOB(); (some other error, probably as above)

there is 1 row in it(id=1), just for display 2 images.
Uploaded 2 images into above Blob fields by file browse function. Now, I want to show the 2 pictures in a Region by using display image item P1_AR, but it didn't work.
Based on: BLOB Columns specified in item source
Alternative Text Column: null
Filename Column: null
BLOB last update Column: nullSource used: Only when current value in session state is null
Source type: SQL Query(return single value)
Source value or express: select dbms_lob.getlength(PIC) from cp_pic where id=1
I got the error below after runing:
ORA-20999: P1_AR has to have a valid BLOB column as source

I've read that you have to create a procedure, a SYNONYM and call them in the src of the img tag. as Zsuzsi Vadasz mentions here [URL] But I remember that I was able to create some items in reports with Apex functions, I think they were from APEX_ITEM Package, so I want to know if there is a way to create the "+Display Image+" item with one function of APEX.

(3.) We need to show PDF/MS Word content to the user, without opening the PDFs/MS World like we normally do (i.e. Using PDV reader/ MS Word).
(4.) i.e. We need to use SQL statements and
(a.) Get all contents of the PDF/MS WORD doc.

Next is data block in which two items have property 'copy value from item' set to 'control block.item1' and 'control block.item2' resp. If thees items are made database items then in execute query will they be sent as parameters in addition to default where clause? if I check last query then query does not hv these parameters but the records returned are already filtered by control block items.
