One particular region shows a tabular report that contains a combination of updateable and non-updateable items. This region will show no more than 15 rows. In one case I know that 22 rows should show. The pagination links do nothing. That is, nothing happens when I click the NEXT link or select the next X of Y from a list. I saw a theme for an application can restrict page size.

Sep 14, 2012I'm using Oracle Database 11g R2 for study purposes.Currently I'm learning about the DBCA clonic templates.I have an Oracle DB 11g R2 X86 running properly in Ms Windows XP Professional SP 3 X86, using DBCA I created the seed template file .dbc and the .CTL and .DBF files, later I copied those files to a server running Oracle DB 11g R2 X86 in Ms Windows 7 Ultimate X86. Again, using DBCA I successfully created the source database through the seed template file, everything was ok.
Now, I formatted my testing server and I installed Ms Windows 7 Ultimate X64 and Oracle Database 11g R2 X64. I copied the seed template file .dbc and the .CTL and .DBF files to "assistantsdbca emplates" directory. Well, I started DBCA to try create the source database and when the DBCA is creating and starting the Oracle instance it shows the errors:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL Level 1
ORA-06553: PLS-801: Internal error [56327]
Is it possible to clone my testing DB from X86 to X64 using DBCA clonic templates?

Apr 20, 2011I have u na forms developer application in 6.0 that generates a Word document. This application runs successfully on Windows XP operating system. We now have PC's new operating system Windows 7 and officce 2010. My procedure reads a specific route where a template in Word which is used to generate the document. In the user's PC application that does not generate the document even shows me an error message. But when I enter my network user with the user's PC and the document genre generates me perfectly. I checked if the user has access to the server path specifies where the template encuntra wish to open and if you have them.

Oct 1, 2012I called an application from Oracle forms using: Client_Host('cmd /c START "" "\localPathmyApplication.exe"'); This works fine on local as well as server.
But when I use the same command to call the application directly from the MENU ITEM, it gives error alert: "WebUtil Error: oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. WEBUTIL_HOST.Execute will not work."
I even tried using DDE.App_Begin(). This gives error: ORA-106561. How can I call any application (.exe) directly from the menu item on the server?

Mar 16, 2011I'm getting trouble in getting the sum of all the product's prize present in the form fields of invoice form. For example, I user bought 2 products so I want to get there prize sum in the total box. I first want that I've QUANTITY, DISCOUNT and SELLING PRIZE.
If I multiply Quantity with Selling Prize then I gets the result in Product and Quantity Total Box. However, Now I want to add discount option in it. Means if user is providing 10% discount to his/her customer then Quantity * Selling Prize - Discount% becomes a result in product's solution final prize box.

Look...Now here..I've added 22 in quantity.. now if I'll insert 10% in discount then the total will comes in Amount Display Box.

Nov 15, 2011Is there any way of allowing the some menu items to access by the users, not the whole menu. The problem is that in the system where I am working is that the users are on application level not on database level. If the users are on db level then by using roles and grants one can set privileges for each db user. Is there any way to block user from accessing some part of menu or from the forms itself?

Apr 17, 2008i have problems to display icons in a task bar in an application that is being migrated from oracle 4.5 to 10g in windows xp.The task bar shows all the icons in the original aplication but when the application runs in 10g, just some of the icons are shown, not all of them.All the icons are in the same file direction "C:fileiconos" and they're all gif files.
I have added the file locatoin to the configuration of the registry.dat,forms, in the registry of the computer, in the orion and orion-web files and in the default file following advice given to other threads here but the problem stays in the application.I have added also the variables to the registry of the coputer for UI_ICON and UI_ICON_EXTENSION with their values.

I was wondering, maybe, it would be nice to add some value for the upgrade process as a whole, using some of Apex new features like web mobile interface or maybe an integration between Forms an Apex, for example to provide users with the powerful features of Interactive Reports, just to name one.
I have found this interesting link: URL.... (not a 100% clear for me, but at least it is a start).Obviously, to make it attractive, one would expect automatic login between the two Apps. As far as i know, this could be done like this:
1) Using SSO. With that a Portal / Forms / Reports/ Discoverer/ version would be mandatory (too expensive for some clients).
2) Oracle Access Manager? Not sure, can Oracle Forms connect to Access Manager? or LDAP? How about the licensing costs?. Not a clue.
3) Make all Apex pages public? Not feasible.
4) Now this one: in our forms application, every user authenticates within the application and we internally map that application user to an actual database user. At all times we hold metadata info about the current user (app, and DB), as well as application context. So this is my question:
It is possible to create an Apex app, with database authentication method, and somehow pass the metadata from forms, and have a kind of custom login procedure that does all the application to DB user conversion process and application context setting?

Apr 1, 2010Is it possible to hard code application server ip in oracle forms using plsql code. I am trying to open one form in my application but its giving me error as no data found. the application is using windows authentication. Unfortunately i don't have access to source code of the forms.
But i think there might be a possibility that application server/ db server ip might have hard coded in that forms so its may not be pointing to actual app server/db server.
Forms :: Alert Windows Appear To Be Hidden And Application Locks Up
May 6, 2011I have a forms 11g application that of course has several message and alert windows that pop up when various errors or messages need to be displayed. This all works great on the developer machine, but when I try and run the form on another machine using any browser the message and alert windows appear to be hidden and the application locks up with the rolling bar across the bottom. I would guess it is waiting for a response, but I cannot get the window to appear.
Following is an example of an alert to be displayed:
