View 4 RepliesI have to check if an entered item is identical to a previous entered item.
Tried to use the Page Level Validation but am confused with the way to do it.
P.S> The issue is that the entered item should be identical to part of the previous item (i.e. substr(P5_item, 1, 8)...)
As there is no boolean datatype in oracle (I wonder why, it exists in ms-sql, and I'm still quite new to oracle) you have several ways to 'simulate' a boolean. (1/0, 'Y'/'N', in german 'J'/'N', or this in small caps...)
Now for a checkbox you have to include the 'true'-value in the LOV. But what, if your database doesn't use '1', as you have implemented, but 'Y', or what, if the 'false'-value is not '0' but null? Each time you would have to adopt your STATIC2:...
So I am wondering about a flexible solution, and I would like to ask if and how it is possible. (Havn't found anything via searching for that yet.)
Instead of writing:
STATIC2: ;Y ... and having only the 'Y/N' implementation working, how about it would look something like that:
STATIC2: ;NOT('0' OR 'N' OR 'n' OR null) ... and a lot of reasonable boolean-implementations are incorporated. You could use a standard LOV for all checkboxes, dealing with different 'booleans'
But just like that, its not working...
So, a) it there a syntax for that at this point? and b) what do you think about that in general, or whats your 'best practice'?
I have created a list with name Test_List and 5 values in it.
I want to pass the values dynamically when i select the list values (any of the 5 values).
I tried:
For each list setting(List Details --> Static list entries --> Target) i have set the
Request as ?Test_List=#Test_List#
Note: Here Test_List is my list name.
Also i have tried
Request as ?Test_List=&Test_List.
But nothing seems to be working...
I am running a two node rac on grid 11.2 and db 11.2.0.3. My application does not like the scan listener, therefore I have to configure the remote listener parameter to the vips of the two hosts, which is working fine.
But it comes out the the system needs the service registered with the scan listener. So. How can I add a static service entry for my scan listener ?

I have a form that the user has to enter a time of an event.
The time entered will most likely be in the past and NOT the current time.
What is the best way to set up a form and a database table for time entry only (exclude the date)?
I have tried datetime on the form with format HH12:MM PM and date on the database.
I have also tried the same with a timestamp on the database.
The time always appears to get entered correctly. However, the time is always stored as AM regardless of what is specified by the user.
If I have Before header Application level process (with id=5) and page Before header process (with id=5), which one will execute first? Is there any relation based on id or there is other logic? I want to understand general order of execution in the same area without manual experimenting and debugging data in both process?
Question is related for Application Express 4.2.1.00.08.
Suppose that, I have two tables: emp, dept
emp records the empid, emp_name, deptid
dept records the deptid, dept_name
Here is a record, it's a president or some special position in company, so it's deptid is set to NULL. Here comes the question, how can I print all the emp_name with their deptartment name?
I know how to print all the emp_name with their department name if they have dept_id, but is that possible that I merge the record with dept_id NULL?
We have a pie chart which has select like
select null, '0-10' Days , count(*) from tableunionselect null, '11-20' Days, count(*) from tableunionselect null, '21-30' Days, count(*) from tableunionselect null, '>30' Days, count(*) from table
The 3d pie chart was showing the slices is the correct order 0-10, 11-20, 21-30, >30 but now shows it in random order. how to get the order by working. I suspect since the Days column in the select is a Character column this issue is occurring, however, with the restrictions in the number of select items we can have in the Apex charts, was wondering how do you get the order by working?
Which step in the following plan is the first step of execution
I reckon it is "TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID| BANK_BATCH_STATE"
Is that correct?
In the "Predicate Information (identified by operation id):"
section the predicates - access and filter for the step "TABLE ACCESS FULL | PYMNT_DUES" are displayed first
Isn't there any relation between the order of execution steps and the order in which predicates are displayed?

I am trying to change the column order in an Interactive Report. Run the report as a developer then use the action menu.
However, I am not sure how one can run the the report as a developer. Do you just login and run the page? Then if I do that, I don't see the action menu there. If I go to page attributes "Save Report" tab, I do see the action menu but "Select Columns" only gives me "Report Type", "Report Name" etc as columns. Or we don't have enough privileges to run the report as a developer?
In my xe installation, what should i have to configure in order to download a report with excel. not with csv.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have Oracle DB 11g.I want to develop a small application for internal use the company.I have used Oracle Application Express workspace provided by Oracle and I thought of using Oracle Apex is the right tool for our internal reporting.
But I am not sure what is needed in order to start developing the application in-house.What should I check with the DBA team in order to find out if I can use Oracle APEX in the organization. Is there any prerequisites, web Server, etc that is needed in order to use Oracle Apex?
I need to recreate my table in order to change the column order. When I use the SQL Commands window and run the SQL, it runs successfully, creates the new table, but doesn't reorder the columns. Is this expected behavior?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have below tables,
describe rpthead
Name Null Type
--------------------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
RPTDATE NOT NULL DATE
RPTD_BY NOT NULL VARCHAR2(25)
PRODUCT_ID NOT NULL NUMBER
describe rptbody
Name Null Type
------------- -------- -------------
RPTNO NOT NULL NUMBER
LINENO NOT NULL NUMBER
COMMENTS VARCHAR2(240)
UPD_DATE DATE
The fact is that we store some header in RPTHEAD and store real data in RPTBODY, the question is that if I use below SQL to query all data for a 'PRODUCT_ID'.
SELECT t0.LINENO, t0.COMMENTS, t0.RPTNO, t0.UPD_DATE
FROM RPTBODY t0 , RPTHEAD rpthead
WHERE
(
t0.RPTNO = rpthead.RPTNO
AND
t0.UPD_DATE>=to_date('1970/01/01 00:00:00','YYYY/MM/DD hh24:mi:ss')
AND
rpthead.PRODUCT_ID IN ('4647')
)
I do not want to have 'ORDER by' clause since data set is too large, the sorting takes long time, is there any way to get the result rows in the order sorted by RPTNO? We have the index for RPTNO on RPTBODY.
can change the order of triggers in forms 6i . that means firing in form level?

ORDER SIBLINGS BY LOC_ID
The error is: "Encountered sysbol "SIBLINGS" when expecting one of the following:

The symbol "by inserted before the "SIBLINGS" to continue.
Is the SIBLINGS keyword not acepted in forms? What would be the alternative?
I have migrated from Oracle 8i (8.1.7) to Oracle 10g, but when I execute a query in 8i without any order by clause, I get a result in ascending order. The same query when executed in 10g gives a result which is not ordered. How to get an order result in 10g. There are many forms and reports which use lov which are not ordered. Can I set the ordering at the database, so that I do not have to alter all the forms and reports.
I have also migrated my forms from 5 to 6, but the combo box in some forms in 6i do not appear at run time. How I can solve this problem. I have attached an forms5 .fmb file/.
I have two block....both are the control block.. in first block i select the date and in second block the data of that date is populated.but the data is populated using cursor in when-button-pressed trigger of that first block button.in cursor the data is selected and placed in field of detail block using into clause.... each field and one item of detail block is srno which is create in post-query of detail block using :sysyem.trigger_record.
Now i want after populated the detail block the data is sorted desc one of the field of the detail block..Can this possible using set_block_property() of block although the block is control block if yes where i should do this?
I have a real problem with form, specifically one of its data blocks. In the order by property of the block i specify it to sort on a branch in ascending order(i tried descending as well) but for some reason the form ignores that and sorts it on the ROWNUM. I even removed the where clause, the order by clause and changed the query data source type to FROM clause and changed the data source name to pre-query. I then created the query string in the block's pre-query trigger and set query_data_source_name property to that query string and still the data in the block is not being sorted on the branch number but instead on the ROWNUM.
