Jan 27, 2012I have made a travel booking system which comprises of 3 forms
1)Travel Booking form
2)Reservation Form
3)Cancellation Form
Under one booking number i can add multiple users in which they can have there multiple travels.
Users can cancel there individual travels under a prescribe booking number which on doing the Cancel flag turns to 'Y'.
What i want is, If a user is cancelling his/her travel under any booking number then while retriving the records in Travel Booking form, the travels which are cancelled should not be in enable mode.
For one user there can be 4 travels out of which 2 are cancelled, how can i track only those records whoes cancel flag is set to Y. some logic to find it out. Else can i use :system.cursor_record. If yes, How to use it for this system.

My aim is to display the missing itemnames for each itemcode.
For each ITEM_CODE there should be four items i.e Pen,Pencil,Scale and Marker If any itemcode missed any of the itemnames those records should display in the output.
So the output should be like this
101 Marker Because the item Marker is missed.
102 Pencil Because the items Pencil and Marker are missed.
102 Marker Because the items Pencil and Marker are missed.
For itemcode 103 no records should be displayed because it having all four itemnames.

Jul 17, 2012I am creating a record with the items - S_No, Product_Name, Selling_Qty, Price.
Checking the total qty (Tot_Qty) from the purchase stock - table1 and already sold out qty (Sold_Qty) of the product from table2.
Consider the following values: Tot_Qty = 200; Sold_Qty = 50;
Now i create a first record of the form as follows: here on selecting the Product_name from LOV, will display the Selling_Qty item - which can be edited (Selling_Qty = Tot_Qty - Sold_Qty) and its price.
S_No Product_Name Selling_Qty Price
1. KeyBoard 50(150) 200
2. KeyBoard 30(150) 200
3. KeyBoard 50(150) 200
Note:
[value given within () are displayed automatically after selecting the prod]
My prob is, when i am entering next record, it displays the same 150 as qty, which have to be 100. After selecting the product from LOV, it should calculate & validate as shown below: which means, previous record value of Selling_Qty also have to be subtracted and displayed.

Jun 1, 2011we have an application currntly running on an HP UX system that uses Oracle 9i database. the pro*C codes work fine with Oracle 9i, on the older system. however now we are migrating it to LINUX system (ORACLE 10g). in the new system we are facing issues with fetch statement
here is how we have the
the cursor statement:

the code runs fine in the old operating system (HP UX) where oracle 9i was used. but fails in Oracle 10g(OS-LINUX).
the probable reason that we found out is that: the fetch statement returns zero rows, that is the reason why this error is being displayed. but Oracle 9i seemed to work out well with this.
we tried reducing the cursor conditions, where it fetches 3 rows. this is when is the fetch statement works fine.
the functionality of the code is that it should work fine even with no rows selected. Is there a way we can modfy the code to work with zero rows as well.
the error we are getting is : ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence

1) Fetching from a cursor after the last row has been retrieved and the ORA-1403 error returned. 2) If the cursor has been opened with the FOR UPDATE clause, fetching after a COMMIT has been issued will return the error. 3) Rebinding any placeholders in the SQL statement, then issuing a fetch before reexecuting the statement.

PL/SQL :: Code Erases Previous Month Record While Updating Current Month Record
May 16, 2013Using 11gR2, windows 7 client machine. I need to update the table missing_volume (below), where I need to calculate the estimated_missing column. The calculation of estimated_missing column for current month needs previous month numbers (as commented inside the code below). I want the output like the first table. Notice the records start from January, hence estimated_missing for January can't be calculated, but for the the rest of the months it can be done by simply changing 'yr' and 'mnth' (commented inside the code towards the end).

The code does calculate correct number for 'estimated_missing' as I run the code for each month, but the problem is while updating the current month it also erases the record for previous month. E.g. as can be seen below, after I updated April the column only has the record for April, previous month record is gone, similarly updating March removed February, etc. I can't understand why it's happening!! Here is the output I get:

Mar 28, 2012i have a field in one table called item_name based on which i am creating new item name as duplicate with new given length, for eg there is one item_code which has length of 12000mm i am going and replacing the string using instr function and replace function based on criteria that where i will find mm it will extract a portion and replace the new length as 6300mm.But its failing because some time user is creating the original item code without mm, is there a way.
Original:'H194x150x6x9x8x12000mm, 29.9 kg/m, ASTM A992M'

Apr 3, 2013I have a form on a table that allows me to edit, delete, or create records. If I choose to edit a record from the report the form get populated correctly and edits or deletes work fine. My problem is when I choose to create a new record. I get a blank form which is what I want, but once I fill it out and click the create button, the automated row fetch fires again and gives me a no data found error. How do I get it to not fire when the create button is pressed?
