I'm trying to change the attributes on a display where the info is gathered via a routine that fills the data block with info. I've searched and tried using 'set item instance property' in several places within the data block using different triggers but still doesn't work.
No errors are encountered or shown. Attributes aren't changed based on a small test condition.

I have a problem while changing in a form canvas color
i make some modification in a form. The layout color of the canvas is blue. i want to change the layout color of it to default (<unspecified>) (which is the default color).
when i change in the property pallet the background color to <unspecified>. it give me that error FRM-12305 color by this name doesn't exist and i want it the default color.
how can i do it without recreating the form from the beginning.
The Background colour of the canvas is "gray" i want to change it to default.

- A Master/Detail form which is called from previously saved table.
- In the detail form, user is allowed to insert list of data from other block into the current detail form. For that I have one when_button_pressed with the following script define :-

When this is none, nothing being happened on the current block ( 'ACT_QT_TXN1'), I think it is because of the master/detail link where it always looks back the original link data. I think this is very common problem but I just can't figure out how to go about it.

In Form, After i enter the data and saved then,if i retrieve the data by using Ctrl+F11, all the fields of data block turns to be disabled (insert not allowed, update not allowed) of course i am getting the data.If i close the application, and open freshly it works good (insert allowed, update allowed).

i alreade have done the following
1. On database

2. On system registry
Have changed all nls_lang variable in the registry to 'American_America.AR8MSWIN1256'
3. On Form
Have changed the field font to 'Simplified Arabic' and reading order 'right to left'
4. On Operating System
Change the region and language setting
format 'Arabic (saudi Arabia)'
keyboard and languages add 'Arabic (saudi arabia)'
5. have restarted the database on the server and also the client machine.
I created a new form for Oracle Apps, At first when I ran the form from the application all the fields backgrounds were black, so I changed the background in the property palette to white and foreground to black.
Now it shows fine but when I close this form and open another those fields are now blacked out. What should I do, I know the problem comes from the new form.
My requirement is to call a form through special menu icon from one main form and display some information. Whenever i open a new form it should fetch a record and display where some of the fields should be available to edit. I am displaying a record based on a view.
For that i have used below code in when-new-form-instance

After executing the query my block status is becoming 'QUERY' where i am not able to set the block/item property "Update allowed" to true.
I have added below piece of code

in almost all the triggers and tried. I could still see all the fields are read only.
I have Table that save a color (specific color) , i want to change this color for all forms included windows and canvases at Runtime (by Code) .
My problem is : i can't move from canvas to canvas to change its color ( name of canvas ) - no next canvas code - like next block?
In my Folder Form i have 6 Total Fields(SUM) , when i press anyone of these Total Filed, to move Right Or Left i got an error like this "frm-40733 pl/sql built-in set_group_char_cell failed."

When I go into help-> Diagnostics, it shows the block name of the form as 'Horizontal Plan' and field name as 'Pivot Table'. How to Clear the Block before the above loop.
I have a requirement to get decrypted value of national_identifier from database and display in Social Security number, when user queries for employee in employee form of HRMS. Also, National_identifier should be in encrypted format in database table always.
To meet above requirement, I am using custom.pll. In WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE I am getting decrypted value of national_identifer from database and assigning it to :person.national_identifier(database block) by using COPY function, so far it is working as expected.
When user query for employee, he/she able to decrypted value. but if user closes the form it is asking 'Do you want to save changes you made' as there is a change in :person.national_identifier.
Do we have any property to reset record/block status to something like unchanged, so we will not get 'Do you want to save changes you made message'.
