Basically, the relevant data to be extracted is "Aug 2 2013 19:22:02" and then i need to insert the same into my database column. And the date column in the table should displays like '08/02/2013 19:22:02'.

I have a Situation for Date and Time Validation.
I have 4 fields, d1,d2,t1,t2 all are date datatype
I have 1 field for R1 for resource a varchar datatype
1. d1 and d2 for date
2. t1 and t2 for time.
The User enter d1 and d2, t1 and t2
eg 01-03-2011 - > d1
01-03-2011 - > d2
9:00 - > t1
9:30 - > t2
and 'Room1' - R1 for resource.
any other entry having the same data, or have partial data should not be allowed.
like on 01-03-2011 between 9:29 to : 9:40 or even 8:30 to 9:01 on the same date or (replicated dates boundaries) should not be allowed.
I have a display item form field. The field's data type is date. It is also a database field that corresponds to a date field in the table.
I have set the format mask on the form field to
MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS
I can populate that field with sysdate in when-new-form-instance.
However, if I try to get the date and the time in the field, it just populates the date with the time of 00:00:00.
(02/16/2010 00:00:00 for example).
I have tried several to_char and to_date variations but can't seem to get the current time into that field.
after spent a lot of time surfing the web looking for this error frm-40513 i did not found any answer about this, So I've removed the date items on my canvas and ran perfectly... after that i opened another copy of the form. In one item there was a initial value $$DBDATETIME$$ .. so that was the error.. i removed that value and i ran my form 11g (weblogic) again and the error has gone.

example: user enters date and time
Date : 08/05/20212

At the time of save I want to save [08/05/2012 18:50:00].
i have emp table of 5 columns empno,ename,dept,sal,edit_timing(edit timing datatype is timestamp).and my form contains empno,ename,dept,sal. is if i insert a record into forms it automatically insert the date and timing into edit_timing columns.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form that the user has to enter a time of an event.
The time entered will most likely be in the past and NOT the current time.
What is the best way to set up a form and a database table for time entry only (exclude the date)?
I have tried datetime on the form with format HH12:MM PM and date on the database.
I have also tried the same with a timestamp on the database.
The time always appears to get entered correctly. However, the time is always stored as AM regardless of what is specified by the user.
When I try to extract the date tag value from XML data, the time stored in 20120602153021 format i.e., YYYYMMDD24HHMISS format. The following statement extracts only date as 02-JUN-12 however do not extract the time part.
If I try the same in SQLplus with to_date it works however fails in PL/SQL.
XML data:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<RECORD>
<REGTIMESTAMP>20120601130010</REGTIMESTAMP>
</RECORD>
PL/SQL Extract:
CURSOR c_xml_record
IS
SELECT extract(value(d), '//ACTIVATIONTS/text()').getStringVal() AS REGTIMESTAMP,
FROM t_xml_data x,
[code].......
I am not able to load complete date along with time in the date column. here is my table desc
DESC STAGE
Name Null Type
----------------------------------
TABLE_NAME NOT NULL VARHCAR(20)
RECORDCOUNT NUMBER
CREATED_DATE NOT NULL DATE
my control file is like this
LOAD DATA
APPEND
INTO TABLE SCOOP.STAGE
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
( TABLE_NAME
,RECORDCOUNT
,CREATED_DATE DATE(16) "YYYYMMDDHH:Mi:SS"
)
the data gets loaded, but it appears like this in the table
HIGHSCHOOL3080606-JUN-12
MIDDLESCHOOL8768006-JUN-12
BUT I WANT COMPLETE DATE AND TIME (HH:MI:SS) , HOW CAN I GET IT (THIS IS HOW I WANT 06-JUN-12 11:07:33)
I want to reset my date to this format: 12/31/2012 11:59:59 PM - see code below:
DECLARE
v_latest_close DATE;
BEGIN
v_latest_close := TO_DATE ('12/31/2012 23:59:59 ','MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS');
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('The new date format is : '|| v_latest_close);
END;
the code above displays only : 12/31/2012 instead of 12/31/2012 11:59:59 PM
I have external file like (.csv or .txt) which contain million of record...i wnat to upload it in backend by using form 6i/10g.
by using package text_io.fopen i read it and by using for..loop conventional method insert record into table...but it will take time..
Is there any way like we use bulk collect and FORALL in backend for inserting data into table..
Is there any way to read external file at a time and insert it ...so minimize inserting time....process will become fast.
I need to convert the type of GMT to Local time, during data entry. I have a source table and a target table.
To make the insert get the most value, I have no problems:
insert into destination (SELECT * FROM WHERE source pointnumber = (SELECT MAX (pointnumber) FROM source));
But since times are different between the tables, I want to convert the data obtained to GMT -4:30 Time (Caracas - Venezuela), before inserting it.
I can use a function?
I am having problems with the XMLTable function. I cant get it to see the entire date/time value in a date field. This wont work
select x1.* from XMLTABLE('/DOCUMENT' passing xmltype('<DOCUMENT><STR>abc def ghi</STR><NUM>1234</NUM><DT>2013-02-17T04:24:02</DT></DOCUMENT>') columns STR varchar2(25), NUM number, DT date) x1;
However if I change the DT tag to just the date only "2013-02-17" it works. Why wont Oracle see the entire date/time format even if its ISO 8601 compliant?

I have a two date fields in my form; valid from date and expiry date.
Currently my valid from date has an inital value property of $$date$$ which automaitcally brings up todays date.
I need my expiry date to automatically show a date 15 years after this date?
I have an table where are three cols:
ID, DECRIPTION and HOX, are nullable columns.When inserted ID on table, description will automatically updated by the trigger as 'NOT VALID', now I need modification on the trigger that if the IDchanges from 1000, (the HOX-value stays at it was) to some other value like 1001 description willupdated to 'VALID'. But if the ID is not 1000, like 999,description will stay as NOT VALID.
I have 2 questions, because they can be inter-related I am posting it in a single post. These queries are related to Oracle(PLSQL).
1. I am trying to increase the size of a field in a table which has almost 2 million records and the query for alteration runs for almost and hour and rollsback, wondering is there a better way of doing it.
2. I have modified the size of a field in a table from Varchar2(10) to Varchar2(20), now when I tried to rollback the modification it is not letting me to change the size from Varchar2(20) to Varchar2(10). No data has been inserted after the modification.
How can I modify the check constraint without dropping the already existing check constraint.
Example: alter table table_1 add constraint const_chk check (ATTRIBUTE7 in
('READ','UNREAD');
Want to add some TENTATIVE value for the already existing one. I could do that by dropping the constraint
ALTER TABLE table_1 DROP CONSTRAINT const_chk and modifying it later as
alter table table_1 add constraint const_chk check (ATTRIBUTE7 in
('READ','UNREAD','TENTATIVE');
Is it possible to do that with out dropping the constraint?
Below is my requirement.
Need to change the precision of a column in a existing table. Statistics about the table
* has over 130 columns
* More than 300 million records
* Column to modify is #121 which has data
* No primary key defined
Since the column has data, it is not possible to modify with a simple Alter.
Second option - create temp column in same table, update from original, put null in original, alter, update back from temp, drop the temp column. This approach is very expensive and time consuming.
Also the Column ID needs to preserved as #121.
I have one table with 10 rows and its frequently updated now my question is that, how can it get the latest date of updation of that rows?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI only know to retrieve data (date & time) by the following statement : "select sysdate from ..."
but now I want to make the fields current date and current time separately and put in a adult file with these two fields. how to do it.
I had a database at microsoft access but i had move it to the oracle database.
When i check the datatype at oracle, date column is at DATE datatype. but it only display date. like in oracle. it display:
oracle_date.PNG ( 74.61K )
Number of downloads: 4
But when i link it to microsft access. like i will control the oracle from access. the result is at below:
access_date.PNG ( 136.11K )
Number of downloads: 3
So, my problem is how to display the date and time fully in oracle?
iam having a table A where column ABC is a varchar field with varchar2(50).
currently data stored is like this.
02-27-2009 11:01:33
02-27-2009 11:01:46
03-06-2009 09:07:18
now i want UTC Date time should be in format 2010-02-24T17:08:09Z. in the above format.
is there possible to retrieve date with its time in oracle ,if we didnot provide time while insertion? like hiredate column of emp table can we get hiredate of each emp with its time of joining. i am using "11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0"
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a question with Oracle sql developer, i've installed oracle 11g express edition, and i want to insert values 'date' and 'time', but i only got the resultat like this:
Who can tell me how can i do to show just date info in 'date' and same for the 'time'?
T1 = 06-Jun-2011 4:00PM
T2 = 10-Jun-2011 11:AM
Calculation is Required.
If at the end of Day Hours of T1 > 6 hours then it should calculate 1 Day.
same with T2. hours of T2(from begining of Day till end Time (11AM), it should again caculate if >6 hours then 1 Day.
remaining will be date calculation. this is how T2 - T1 should give us 5 Days.
Detail
06-Jun-2011 4:00PM to 06-Jun-2011 12:00AM (8 hours > 6 = 1 Day)
06-Jun-2011 12:00AM to 07-Jun-2011 12:00AM = (1 Day)
07-Jun-2011 12:00AM to 08-Jun-2011 12:00AM = (1 Day)
08-Jun-2011 12:00AM to 09-Jun-2011 12:00AM = (1 Day)
09-Jun-2011 12:00AM to 10-Jun-2011 12:00AM = (1 Day)
10-Jun-2011 12:00AM to 10-Jun-2011 11:00AM (11 hrs > 6 = 1 Day)
this is how 5Days calculation is required.
