I am having a problem with auto populating different fields based on inventory no. field.. This is a bug giving to me to work on and i not able to figure out how to populate the other fields.
How to set any triggers for the items to auto populate and i am suppose to finish this work today.
I have one requirement.I am populating LOV dynamically for the subinventory field in the order form through custom.pll.
If Dropship flag= 'Y' then populate suninv LOV with D1,d2..values.If it is 'N' then populate suninv LOV with w01,w02,....values.This is done and working fine in the form.But If i save dropship flag='Y' and Subinv value is D1 then it saves the record.Now I am changing Drop ship flag as 'N' then 'D1' value appearing in the SUBINV field.and it allow the save changes.
So How can i refresh Lov at the time of making drop ship flag as 'Y'/'N'?

Although a is the PK, records with similar b,c,f_text are considered redundant and I need to delete all occurrences in the table where b, c, d are redundant and leave the unique ones. So I need the result to look like:

Ive a requirement which ive overlooked for a while now as below,

I have 2 non data base blocks, these 2 blocks act like master details but there is no relation. In header block i have 2 fields called "Product name" and "Product Type"
in detail block having 2 tab pages one having multi record(20 item number and name displayed on it) another one having single record but it has around 20 image items displayed on it.
My requirement is once i enter the product name and then if i press either "key tab" or "Key Enter" or "Mouse Move" from product name field
into product type field then detail record should be populated automatically without using go_block and go_item.

I have a table where i need to update one field values based on another field of the same table , simply as it is.I have done this using one select all check box , on clicking that all check boxes of item_trans table will get selected , then i will un select some of check box and then using one button, i will update the value of the fields which are checked only.

I am able to filter the records but the list item is not displaying initial value and the value that i am selecting from poplist.
I have already done auto increment by making sequence and trigger. but now the problem is when i am trying to retrieve data from that table it returns all data perfectly but the primary key that is my auto increment value shows blank.I am facing this problem with join query, there 4 table left joined in my query. But when I remove join from my query then it shows that value.
But i need that value in my join query.So, what is the problem and what can I do?And other thing is when I apply this query in Oracle SQL Developer, it works perfect.

In a data block(it lists all the records created), I tried to search for the records which are created on a particular date. So I entered the date in query mode in that data block. But it is not returning any rows. But if I searched through other fields in that data block except that date data type it is returning the appropriate records.

1)Travel Booking form
2)Reservation Form
3)Cancellation Form
Under one booking number i can add multiple users in which they can have there multiple travels.
Users can cancel there individual travels under a prescribe booking number which on doing the Cancel flag turns to 'Y'.
What i want is, If a user is cancelling his/her travel under any booking number then while retriving the records in Travel Booking form, the travels which are cancelled should not be in enable mode.
For one user there can be 4 travels out of which 2 are cancelled, how can i track only those records whoes cancel flag is set to Y. some logic to find it out. Else can i use :system.cursor_record. If yes, How to use it for this system.
There is a text item on my form with NUMBER data type. I want to force the user to enter exactly 3 digits in to that text item. My current FORMAT MASK is set to 990. But this allows user to enter even a single digit where as my requirement is user should enter exactly 3 digits. Can we achieve this by changing the FORMAT MASK property?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI did a search on this topic and did see the ASK TOM response that storing all varchar2 fields as (2000) or what not is a bad idea based on an array fetch that developers may use etc. However I'm not sure that applies to my specific question, and the other examples he gave certainly didn't apply. So I'll pose the question a different way:
Question #1: Is there, for example, a performance difference between setting a field as varchar(2000) and varchar(25) if I was just running a native SQL query using a front end tool like TOAD?
Question #2: If I also need to index that field, will it take longer to index a varchar(2000) field than a varchar(25) field, assuming the same data is in both fields?

I have about creating a sequence. So how can I tie this to my table?
I am trying to update records in the target table based on the records coming in from source. For instance, if the incoming record is present in the target table I would update them in the target else I would simply insert. I have over one million records in my source while my target has 46 million records. The target table is partitioned based on calendar key. I implement this whole logic using Informatica. Looking at the informatica session log I find that the informatica code is perfectly fine but its in the update part it takes long time (more than 5 days to update one million records). find the TARGET TABLE query and the UPDATE query as below.

i want to display on that form, no. of records of ITEM_NO which i select from the list. like if i have 10 records with item_no which i select from list is must show 1/10.

I have a query that produces around 11 fields, and one of which is a multi-delimited field and the other 10 are dimension fields. I would like to split that field into several rows, and have the other 10 fields just repeated for each one. Here is an example of the data in the 11th field :

There are two delimiters in the field, a carat and a comma. This field is used to reference document numbers that are needed to be sent in. The carat represents the word "Or" and the comma represents the word "And". I would like to have the output of each field to be a repeat of the 10 dimension fields, plus 3 new fields. The first new field would be the document number, the second new field would be the position within the original delimited field(1, 2, 3, etc.) , and the last field would be one of three logic words :First (if it is the first value), Or (if the value followed a carat), And (If the value followed a comma). Example of the output from the above value would be :

Any thoughts on this? I have found a few solutions online on how to break up the delimited field into rows, but never with multiple delimiters or with extra logic for the added fields.
i have multi data block filed. and checkbox field which based on control block...My task is when i check checkbox only one field should enabled and my mouse goes to that field
e.g

My item field based on data block and checkbox based on control block,while i checked chkbox1 , only item31 on that current record should be enabled and i changed value only on that field

We are building a custom form extension with our EBS R12 where against certain parameters we are inserting and updating records in a table through a PL/SQL procedure.This PL/SQL doesn't use a commit exclusively, instead the user must click the Save button after verifying the data (new records are inserted, existing ones are updated and after the insert and update routines, execute_query is fired to fetch the latest data)
Everything works fine, however, when the user clicks on the Save button form status bar says "FRM-40401: No changes to save"
We would like to alter this message with our own custom message stating how many records were inserted and hows many were updated (We have counters counting this information)
Under which particular trigger we should write the code to enhance this requirement?
Actually m working on oracle 10g forms. I have a list item in which no. of records displayed is 10. I am populating this list item through a record group. I want when user select a value from first record then he should not be able to select the same value in further record of that list item.

1. My detail form has part number as one of the fields and I want to make sure the user can enter a part number only once. How can I make sure user cannot enter it more than once?
2. I want to limit number of detail records for every parent record to 8. How can I accomplish this?
3. I have approval flags at both master and detail. If the user tries to approve the master with some/all detail records unapproved, system should display error message and make the user approve the detail before approving the master.
