Forms :: Populating Detail Records Without Navigation

I have 2 non data base blocks, these 2 blocks act like master details but there is no relation. In header block i have 2 fields called "Product name" and "Product Type"
in detail block having 2 tab pages one having multi record(20 item number and name displayed on it) another one having single record but it has around 20 image items displayed on it.
My requirement is once i enter the product name and then if i press either "key tab" or "Key Enter" or "Mouse Move" from product name field
into product type field then detail record should be populated automatically without using go_block and go_item.
I am having a problem with auto populating different fields based on inventory no. field.. This is a bug giving to me to work on and i not able to figure out how to populate the other fields.
How to set any triggers for the items to auto populate and i am suppose to finish this work today.
I have a Master block and a Detail Block. They are related using two columns, Document_ID and Page_no. I want to display all the records in master table with corresponding detail records beside them in single line. i.e., as shown below:
MasterItem1 DetailItem1 DetailItem2 DetailItem3
I created the relation between them and executed query. When I execute query in the form, I can find that all the Master Items are displayed in vertical records, but i can only see one record of detail fields. They are displayed as shown below:
1. My detail form has part number as one of the fields and I want to make sure the user can enter a part number only once. How can I make sure user cannot enter it more than once?
2. I want to limit number of detail records for every parent record to 8. How can I accomplish this?
3. I have approval flags at both master and detail. If the user tries to approve the master with some/all detail records unapproved, system should display error message and make the user approve the detail before approving the master.
I have to date field in detail part of master detail Form. In detail part i have field of From_date and To_date. I want when i go to next record in detail part ,,,from date is initiaze by previous to date+1....eg.like
1.record: From date=01-jan-2011, To_date=10-jan-2011 2.Record: From_date = 11-jan-2011;
I have Attached calender to two feild...and calender is the different block... In Detail block when_record_instance i handled the;; From date=previous to-date +1;
but when i double click the feild calender is open and when_new_record trigger is fired agian. calender called ...the when_new_record is not callled .....
'm using go_item to open the canvas but the cursor doesnt want to focus on the item. I have to mouse click the item before I can enter any data or tab through it.
in substance I need to mix results from overview table and records from details table in same report.
For creating the scenario:

Second report should display the overview per time period (year), but the records from e.g. year 2009 start counting in year 2010. At the end of each year again a summary for the actual status.
I would like to know if with Oracle Forms Builder 11g, we can use mouse instead of TAB to validate record? And why Forms Builder use TAB or ENTER Key to validate record? I have a SAVE button, but i want to replace the TAB navigation validation by the mouse click. Is it possible?
A requisition application shows the latest requisition details in the homepage and allow the users to go particular requisitions (extract) details from a button (CALL_FORM), also they can modify the records in that form.
I want to give an EXECUTE_QUERY (WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED) when im returning to the home page and the cursor should return to the last row where i was.
do this from navigation triggers (with out writing a select statement in when-window-activated).
what is the basic workaround to provide to switch from one form to another form via custom-menu at runtime?
I attached a menu-item to every of my forms and I can call them seperately from the forms builder. But I am not able to switch between the forms then. If I am clicking on a menu-item, I get frm-40010.
P.S. I'd prefer to close the current form, if the new form has been opened. Do I have to control this seperately or is the closing of the last form default?
We are facing below issue in Oracle forms 10g( Rel 10.1.2.0.2) with Windows XP professional.Application server J2EE 10.1.2.0.2).
We have a multirecords block. After navigating to last record by clicking mouse in scroll bar and change values in a column by clicking mouse in column to change, cursor control is moving to some other record(where cursor is located previously) and current changed value it is showing as not fully validated.
Eg: We have columns like below in multirecords block
If am changing last records price to 20 then press tab key, cursor will be moved to second record and cursor will be highlighted in security 2. column price where we changed to 20 also not validated to show as 20.00 with 2 decimal format mask.Along with this we are getting below error message ' FRM-41008 - Undefined function key, press Ctrl + F1 for list of valid keys.After changing the price we are pressing the tab key only.
This occurs randomnly and when we querying more than 2000 records with multiple times.
I have developed customer entry form, its working fine. I have 2 display items on form. One is country name & other is region, these are fetched based on country id LOV.
Now I want to display country name & region at time of navigation. I have written following code on WHEN_NEW_RECORD_INSTANCE of block.

I always get message not data found on navigation. Problem is only with the display item other, values of database columns are being shown.
I am trying to disable mouse navigation on data block or text item,. What i want is to my text items in specified block be keyboard navigable only.
The problem is that i don't have that option on text_items or data block (my conclusion: probably because it is not possible to change mouse navigate option for text item or data block).
I have also tried in WHEN-NEW-BLOCK-INSTANCE trigger
i want different options to appear in the list item when choosing different radio buttons.
i've tried to compile the codes and there are no errors.
I dunno what went wrong.

I want to populate a combo box using values from a table, I know you can manually enter values in the combo box's property palette using the 'Elements in List' option, but this combo box will have changing values and I would prefer it to come from a table rather than manual entry so that when users add a new staff name to the table it will automatically be in the combo box.
I would need to use a trigger on this combo box, but which is the best to use and im guessing the SQL needed is more than just 'select * from staffname'?
I created one list item.which is populating values from list item query dynamically.If i select a particular value from list it will create new record.for the new record line i want to display list item as 'complete' (i.e not exists in the list).At this time i don't want the list also.How can i assign value to the list item in this scenario?
I have a field on a form which is not a database item. The value for this is got by concatenating 3 other fields which are database items but not visible on form. But when i am running the execute query to fetch results into these items I want to concatenate the value in those 3 DB fields and display it in the other non-db field at runtime.
I want to search values with F11.for example i will enter some value and i will press F11.it should be display that record. That block is populating values from code.
I have a form in which the fields are calculated fields. So i need to populate the form after calculating the values based on a database columns. For example if i have a table as below
COL A | Col B | Col C | Col D 2 3 4 5 3 4 5 6
I have 3 fields on my form which i need to populate such that field1 maps to col A. Field2 value is COL B * COL D for that value of COL A. Field 3 value is COLB * COL D for that value of col A.
I tried something like this

this fetched all the records for field1 but for field2 and field3 it only calculates and populates the field row.
I have the scenario where I have a table(table 1) which stores the car code and the meaning of that code. I then have another table (table 2)which just stores the code. My datablock is based on the table which just contains the code(table 2). On my form if the user wishes to populate this field in the record I have a Lov which goes to the table 1 and retrieves the code and the meaning of it.
The code is then returned to the corresponding field in the datablock for table 2. this works fine in adding and editing. the user sees the meaning and whilst selecting from the lov populates the code field behind the scenes and everything works fine. However, my problem is when the user does a query only the code field is populated from table 2 (the code field is hidden to the user) therefore the meaning field is left blank as if there is no data there when in fact this is not the case.
I have created a simple master/detail form which is in easy navigation for user. The form have master/detail block with tabular style showing 5 records, When user click on master record the detail will show the opposite as master record point.
I created a master-detail form using wizard in oracle apex 4.2 Now I want to attach an LOV to one of the items of detail form, which is visible on the same window as of master form. To do so, I need to first find the item in detail page, details of which are not available in page definitions. I can see all the items of master form but none for detail form in "Page Rendering" section.
I have an existing form which i need to customize..In the form in the query block whatever strings we enter..and press the search button..it sets the where clause and use execute query.which populates the detail block which is read only and only 1 column is enabled.
For the Enabled column X I need to enable a button.It has to be done only if the cursor go in the column X
I have created one master detail block..Master having form layout only one record and detail block is of tabular type having 10 record set
I need to do that .as master block enters entry and switch to detail block at the detail block 1st record should come with some default values which property need to use..
