View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have a .NET application on windows server 2008 32bit using the stored procedures on an Oracle 10g environment. We are trying to deploy the .NET application onto a 64bit x86 Windows server 2008.
We face an error trying to install the x64 version of the Oracle 10g client on windows 2008. The error we get is Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: javaw.exe
Is the x64 version of the Oracle 10g client certified for Windows 2008? Has anyone successfully installed the 64bit version of the oracle client on win2008?
We have a workaround in place with 32 bit version of the client running with the 32 bit version of the .NET application on x64 win2008. However to maximize the infrastructure we need to use the 64 bit version or we would have to turn to MSSQL Server .
I've tried to install Oracle 10gR2 (10.2.0.4.0) on Windows server 2008 (64 bit). I just click on installer and a message appears:

Need some input from you on ASM Configuration for Windows XP platform.
1)First I executed the script as below:
<orahome>inlocalconfig add
2) And I had created folder like below manually.
c:asmdisksasmdisk1
3) And now I am firing the below command:
ASMTOOL -create c:asmdisksasmdisk1 250
At this stage I am getting the below error.

I'm trying to install oracle 11G at my windows XP platform. This shows error.
1) Is 11G not supporting with XP. Is it only supports to windows 7?
2) At the installation, it prompt me for either FILE SYSTEM or AUTOMATIC STORAGE MANAGEMENT. What is the difference, which one should I select for practicing.
3) Which edition is better to practice and to have morethings available (in terms of having advanced options as same as production DB have)
4) Can't we install RAC on my desktop?
5) Can I choose SERVER CLASS instead of DESKTOP CLASS?
I Had installed 11g grid on 32 bit machine. Grid was working fine till yesterday and was also able to monitor agents on 4 diff boxes. Agents installation was smooth using the pull method. But from yesterday onwards grid is not working. OMS service on windows is not getting started. node manager, listener, database service, web tier all services are running fine but for some reasons the Windows OMS service is not coming up .
I also tried to start manually oms_home/emctl start oms but the service doesn't come up.
i download oracle 11g for windows 32 bit on my laptop, go through the installation and use the option to crate a starter database. meet all the pre- req and every thing goes smooth. database gets created, use sqlplus to connect ot the database also open the enterprise manager and and also see the GUI after logging in.
now what happens it works fine for a day or some times two and when i reboot the machine and go back and try to open the EM its gives me the error cant find the URL. i have tried it few times and it happens every time. i don't know what i am doing it wrong but for some reason the EM manager doesn't work . i can still log on the database using the sqlplus.
I wish to purchased a new DELL laptop with windows 7. I was told that oracle 10g installation is a problem in windows 7 and is not compatible with windows 7. i was even told that formweb.cfg file also does not work properly.
Is this true. should i have to install windows XP instead of windows 7. some how i am not able to accept this point. I need to buy around 15 laptops for all my officers and it will be a waste if i can't install oracle 10g
I have the following code failing to connect to my database even though I can access that database using sqldeveloper as well as apex(http://localhost:8080/apex/)

$SGMDBPassword = "big";
$SGMDBName = "s7s";

As you can see I have attempted various ways to connect and have listed the error messages I get from each within the code.
I have installed Oracle Form6i/Report6i Developer Suit on Windows 7 32-Bit Enterprise Edition and I don't have any issue in development/programming area. Forms/Reports are compling good without any error.
But when I try to run any ".fmx" than an error comes which is attached herewith. Whereas my exprience say, it is an error related to incompatability between Oracle Form6i "ifrun60.exe" and Microsoft Windows 7 32-Bit.
Will oracle 11g R2 editions will work fine in windows 7 64 bit home basic.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am facing strange problem, I installed 9i and 11g on same machine which is running windows server 2003 service pack 2. I set ORACLE_HOME and PATH of both versions different and both are installed properly.
But when i try to create new database using oracle 9i DBCA after reaching step 8 DBCA becomes unresponsive whereas i am able to create new database using Oracle 11g DBCA. After searching the entire net i am not able to troubleshoot the problem. Moreover in both version i am able to access using CMD and i got the connectivity.
I configure the listener for both on different port but when i run oracle 9i the screen shows first connectivity of oracle 11g sql* plus after that it is going to connect to oracle 9i this is my second issue. My system RAM is 1GB total is this is also be the reason for the above problem.
I have Oracle installed on a Windows 2008 server. When the database was created, it could not register with the listener (I confirmed that the listener service was running but when I started creating the database it stopped).I completed the db creation and started the listener again and tried "alter system register" but that didn't work either. Then I manually edited listener.ora and added an entry to the SID_LIST_LISTENER and I could successfully connect using sqlplus dba1@orcl/password from the same server.
Now, I tried to use the instant client to connect to the database from another Windows 2008 server. I copied the TNSNames.ora from the db server to this new server. When I run sqlplus dba1@orcl/password I get the ORA 12154 error.
Why would this happen from a remote machine which is on the same network? Ping from one server to the other works (both ways).
I have windows 7 professional edition 32bit and i have tried to run oracle form 10g on chrome and Mozilla browsers they require plugin but don't install, windows ie8 crashes. i searched through internet about this problem some suggested to use jinitiator, i installed it manually and auto both and also paste the "jvm.dll" but the problem is yet to be solved.
