I am facing strange problem, I installed 9i and 11g on same machine which is running windows server 2003 service pack 2. I set ORACLE_HOME and PATH of both versions different and both are installed properly.
But when i try to create new database using oracle 9i DBCA after reaching step 8 DBCA becomes unresponsive whereas i am able to create new database using Oracle 11g DBCA. After searching the entire net i am not able to troubleshoot the problem. Moreover in both version i am able to access using CMD and i got the connectivity.
I configure the listener for both on different port but when i run oracle 9i the screen shows first connectivity of oracle 11g sql* plus after that it is going to connect to oracle 9i this is my second issue. My system RAM is 1GB total is this is also be the reason for the above problem.
I downloaded the 11G 64bit for windows and unzipped the files into one folder and ran the setup.exe as an administrator. It opened up the java screen and I chose, create and configure a database. Next screen I chose, Desktop Class, when I click next it dies. It does not show me teh next screen. I went to the appdata folder and saw this error but not sure what to do EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005).
install the ORACLE 9i & 10g in Windows 7.Whenever time i install the both Oracle ver in Win.7, the some java error comes, and installation is not completed properly.install the Oracle both ver in win 7
I tried to install Oracle 11G (release 11.1.0.6.0) on my Desktop whose operating system is Windows Vista Business Service pack 2.I chose as kind of installation: Personal Edition but I had the following error messages (the same happend when I chose Eenterprise Edition):
ORA-00445 error PMON does not start even after 120 sec at the time of instance starting up. If I gnore it I have ORA-01034 Oracle not available.I couldn't check the trace file of PMON under bdump and the alert log file under udump because these directories were not yet created.
I checked also the environment variables ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID and they were OK.i also checked the Ram available(I've got more than 2GB) and the available space on disk (I have more than 300 GB on C)
What should I do?? Do I need install any specific patches???I am Oracle Certified professional 10G DBA and i need to install 11 G to do the exam of upgrading Is there any other Oracle versions that i can download freely and that work with my operating system?
I want to install Oracle 11g R2 in windows 2008 64 bit server. How can I know whether my server is ready to install Oracle ie is all components are available in server or any patch is to be applied etc.
I want to install any version of Oracle database in my laptop IBM Lenovo Y450 64 bit, but i have win 7 home, how to install it in win 7 home edition, one main thing i don't have money to upgrade it to windows 7 ultimate,
My Oracle 12c Release 1 installation on my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit laptop seems to be stuck or hung or whatever you call it. After downloading file1 and file2 from OTN using wget, I copied the files to c:oracle12c directory, renamed them so that they are zip files winx64_12c_database_1of2.zip and winx64_12c_database_2of2.zip that Windows can recognize, without the authparams used by wget. I unzipped both, extracting all files, and they are now in the c:oracle12cdatabase directory. I double clicked on c:oracle12cdatabasesetup.exe and the installer started. My computer overheated and shut down abnormally. I restarted my computer. Then started over with clicking on setup.exe, using dbhome_2, instead of dbhome_1 that was used in the aborted installation. My computer met and passed all of the prerequisites. I followed all of the steps carefully. It finished the Oracle database installation, finished with the Net Configuration Assistant, then started the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant. The task bar has been stuck at 86% for at least a half hour now. Clicking on details shows:

I have oracle10g installable in .rar format. I have unzipped it and started installer through setup.exe file, but in the secnd step itself it is asking product.xml file location , i searched entire installables but could not find any thing with such name, installing this oracle 10g on windows 2003 server.
I decided to work on Oracle.I downloaded Oracle 10g for windows 32bit to run on XP. But i can not finish installation.
Here is what i've done so far.
1. I installed Microsoft Loopback Adapter and configured it with 192.168.1.10 for IP and 255.255.255.0 for NetMask. 2. I ran setup. The installation holds on a while on "Loading Sun JDK extensions" step. 3. The installation can not execute "Checking network configuration requirements" on the "product-specific prerequisite checks" step.
I've been trying to install it for a few days but i could not go one step further.
P.S: I could not URL. Here are the images. (remove the blanks on addressline.[URL]....
I am looking for Oracle database 10g (best if it is the lastest release of 10G) 64bit for windows2003 64bit machine but cuold not find the download (Oracle has took this off line, only 11g is available). where can I get this installation file?
I have installed Oracle 10g on Windows 7 64 bit today by own from the following link with data.
[URL]
1. At the start of my installation
Global Database Name : oracl Password : my own password
2. At last i got the message "The installation of Oracle Database 10g was successful."
I have tried logon with
User Name as scott with tiger with Host String as oracl User Name as scott with tiger User Name as system with manager with Host String as oracl User Name as system with manager
But i am unable to login to SQL.
Note: In between installation, i have not set any password.
I have installed oracle 10g in D drive . The installation says it is successful, without asking the database name or the password . I have followed the steps given in the attached file .
However it is not asking the database name or password ( no configuration set up is appearing for the user to interact with the system ) . So, after installation I can not give the username and password .
I am trying to install oracle 11gR2 64-bit on windows XP 64-bit Operating System, after the completion of the steps where I have to enter the path for the ORACLE BASE and other parameters when I click next and then Finish, I receive an error, you can check in the attachment.
I installed oracle 9i from cd's (3 cd pack) all the three cd's installed perfectly but after the installation of these three cd's , a window appears (which is default installation ) in which some below mentioned tools were installed:-
1. Net Configuration Assitant 2. HTTP server etc. when installation of net configuration assistant is going on then a window is popped up saying "jrew.exe stops working" and the process of installation keeps going on and going on..........then when i stopped listener ,then another tool installation starts and after sometime again a window is popped with same message "jrew.exe stops working". means all the 4 tools are not successfully installed ...installing oracle 9i database on windows7.
I am getting error while installing Oracle 11g on windows xp. Ora --12638: Credential Retrieval failed error. I understand that some people have got that error after the installation( Changing SQL.Net file).
I tried to reinstall oracle 11g on windows 2008 R2 and couldn't complete the installation as i am unable to start the oracle service. The system gives the following error message
Instance created. DIM-00019: create service error O/S-Error: (OS 1053) The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I try to manually create the service and it gives me the same error.I also tried to start the service using the net start as follows
C:UsersAdministrator>net start oracleserviceprod The service is not responding to the control function.
Having looked at the event viewer in windows, I noticed three different error messages as followsr
Application popup: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library : Runtime Error!
R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.and then A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the OracleServiceprod service to connect.
The OracleServiceprod service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have Oracle 11g database home in my 64 bit Windows 7 machine. However, now i would like to install Oracle 10.2.0 client as well. I tried giving a separate location.
But for some reason, whenever i start the Setup and run the Administrator Type, the installation just skips without giving any errors. It just creates the inventory folder in the specified path. It goes to the Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks and exits without giving any warnings or errors.
Trying to upgrade APEX within an Oracle XE database installation on Windows 7. The version of APEX that came with Oracle XE is 4.0.2. Trying to upgrade to 4.1.1 and, from the SQL*Plus command-line (ie. the 'Run SQL Command' tool which comes with Oracle XE), I try to run @apexins.sql.
It starts to run momentarily, then the MS-DOS windows just closes. Can not find any install log to determine the cause.
I want to install Oracle EE 11gR2 on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit laptop. Installed memory is 8GB.I need to install 32-bit server since Oracle Warehouse Builder will not run on a 64-bit o/s. Further, I use Toad 9.7.2 which will only recognise client 32-bit.
I had a few failed attempts, especially when the database was being created with the ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error,
So here's what I did:
Changed C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts so that it contains two lines 127.0.0.1 localhost & ::1 localhost Changed properties of setup.exe in the installation directory to be Windows XP SP2 compatible and run as administrator Selected "install database software only" (so I could figure out at what step the installation fails) Selected "single instance" Selected "Enterprise Edition" Selected oracle base "c:app" (instead of default location c:appd_seng)
Copy of files was completed successfully, log file was created in c:program files(x86)oracleinventorylogs & registry entries were added to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeORACLE" (with keys KEY_OraDb11g_home1, ODP.NET & OracleMTSRecoveryService), and the following services were created:
OracleMTSRecoveryService: Started/Automatic OracleOraDb11g_home1ClrAgent: Not started/Manual OracleRemExecService: Started/Disabled
There are no listener.ora & tnsnames.ora yet. Sqlnet.ora is created with the line SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)
Now I went to Start, All Programs, Oracle - OraDb11g_home1, Configuration and Migration Tools, right clicked on "Net Configuration Assistant" and changed the properties to be Windows XP SP2 compatible and run as administrator and ran it. I selected "Listener Configuration", added a listener called LISTENER, TCP protocol, port 1521 and finished. A service called "OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener" was created and started in automatic mode. The PATH was updated and listener.ora was created with the lines:

The command completed successfully Now I went to start, all programs, Oracle - OraDb11g_home1, Configuration and Migration Tools, right clicked on "Database Configuration Assistant" and changed the properties to be Windows XP SP2 compatible and run as administrator and ran it.
I chose to create a databaseGeneral purpose Global database name ORCL SID ORCL Chose "Configure Enterprise Manager" & "Configure Database Control for local management" and disabled "Automatic maintenance tasks" Used the same password for all accounts
Selected storage type "File System" & "Use Database File Locations from Template" Unchecked Flash Recovery & Archiving Selected "Sample Schemas", "Typical" memory size (1228MB), "Use Automatic Memory Management" Left sizing/character sets/connection mode as default, and Selected "Generate Database Creation Scripts" in C:appadminORCLscripts (if I choose to Create Database, it fails with TNS Protocol Adapter Error).
I now open ORCL.bat in an editor, go to command prompt, create the directories as per the file, set ORACLE_SID=ORCL & path.
The next step C:appproduct11.2.0dbhome_1inoradim.exe -edit -sid ORCL -startmode auto -srvcstart system give an error "Unable to start service, OS Error 1056" (probably implies services already running), nothing is present in the windows alert logs about this. If I stop the service OracleVssWriterORCL, then this command completes, although no messages are returned.
The next step in the batch file starts sqplus /nolog and calls ORCL.sql.
ORCL.sql accepts passwords for sys, system, sysman & dbsnmp. It then executes host C:appproduct11.2.0dbhome_1inorapwd.exe file=C:appproduct11.2.0dbhome_1databasePWDORCL.ora force=y, which prompts me for the password for sys.
ORCL.sql then calls CloneRmanRestore.sql, which then tries to run connect "SYS"/"&&sysPassword" as SYSDBA
This is when I get the error ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error, which has been haunting me for days.
My gut feel is that the database creation step at sqlplus is unable to recognise the listener...or probably it does not recognise the modified registry location (with Wow6432Node), the file oracle.key in C:appproduct11.2.0dbhome_1BIN shows the string SOFTWAREORACLEKEY_OraDb11g_home1.
I then changed oracle.key to point to SOFTWAREWow6432NodeORACLEKEY_OraDb11g_home1, restarted the listener and ORCL service, but connecting as sys returns the same error.
unable to start the DBCONSOLE immediately after installing Oracle 11G R2 onto my Windows 7 box. Here is what I have ran from the command line:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:Userssandifer>emctl start dbconsole Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name. C:Userssandifer>SET ORACLE_HOSTNAME=localhost
[code].....
I checked the above listed file path, and sure enough, OC4J_DBConsole_localhost_orcl is missing.
