Backup & Recovery :: Error While Backup On Windows 7 Client Of Oracle 11gR2 Database

I have facing problem while taking backup on Windows 7 client of Oracle 11g R2 database. I have installed oracle 11gR2 for windows on windows 7 machine. I have created a directory like below in database.
On Database Server
SQL> create directory win_expdp_dir as 'd:expimp';
Directory created.
SQL> grant read, write on directory win_expdp_dir to lab;
Grant succeeded.
On Windows 7 machine (client machine)

I have give all sharing rights on d:expimp directory. My main question is why i'm getting this error. Is there any thing missing in setup. how to take export on windows 7 client.
I am trying to clone a database on another server with different direcory structure. So that path on the source db server are /u04 whereas on on target db server it would be /u03.
Since this I am testing it on small database initially I have kept all datafiles, backup and archivelogs at /u04 and /u03 on the source and target db servers respectively Now I have copied the backups from source db server to target and since path is changed, I cataloged it
However during restore I am getting

I've read a lot about the different types of backup available with Oracle (hot and cold backup). However, I was thinking of a different way of performing this task. I'm currently using Windows Server 2008 R2 and Oracle 11g Standard Edition. I'd like to schedule an entire backup of my server via the utility "Windows Server Backup" (available for free).That way, I could recover my entire server with all the programs and files in case the latter crashes.I'm wondering if this solution could be used as a way of backing up (and recovering) the Oracle database. Should I still set up a regular hot backup with the Archivelog mode enabled in case some operations/transactions were being done at the time of the crash (for the data integrity)?
I want to Transfer Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.7.0 on windows 2003 32 bit server to Windows 2008 server 64 bit I have Cold RMAN backup. and directory structure of both server are same Do i need to do anything to change datafile to 64 bit or do i need to apply any change to any object
I am trying to setup incremental backup on my windows OS based server using RMAN command in batch file. When I use batch file in OS scheduler it is working fine, when I am calling same batch file from my LOCAL desktop PC it throws errors as below.

We are using Oracle 10g R2 in Windows Server 2003. I'm trying to restore a database in a new server, using RMAN backups.
Our external consultant configured RMAN scripts for full and incremental backups but never tested them . Since he just doesn't show up, I'm forced to tested them, restoring the whole database in a new server.
My instance is named MTDPROD, and I will create all from scratch.
At current server, RMAN files are generated in: //192.168.1.149/g$/XXXSRV4-ArcLogs/MTDPROD/RMAN
At new server, I run all these commands:

By instance, I see a lot of this kind of files:
- FULL_MTDPROD_20110529_386_1.BAK - INCR_MTDPROD_20110621_480_7.BAK And only see these two files: - C-2169285856-20110527-03 - C-2169285856-20110527-04
It seems that this C-2169285856-.... files only were on 27/05/2011 and then no more. However, the FULL_... and INCR_.. files are generated every day. The FULL is generated at the end of each month and INCR is generated every day.

So /dd_oraback is a Data Domain mount. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.
i am trying to restore database using rman backup on same machine using command

,I am new to Oracle database administration i am working on a 24*7 tool .the tool will work as a non stop.this is a standalone tool.there wont be any one who will be taking care of the database.I need to design a backup statergyNeed to take backups on timly basis.Since the database can't be go offline cold backup's can not be useenhot backup needs to implemented.what are steps needs to do for hot backup.Is there are some pre defined scripts to run the backup.

diagnose what actually occurred during RMAN backup?
online backup done thru RMAN.Suppose i am taking online backup of full database. During the backup, user's are inserting/deleting/modifying data. This data is getting stored as online archives. Once the database backup is finished, how these archives are applied to the database to make the database up to date.
Backup entire database, without archived logs, while the database is open for user activity and also This backup should be the base for an incremental backup strategy.
i have an issue while in backup and recovery. first of all i want to explain what i did, at first i create a database and named "testdatabase" on my machine then i create a new user say "newuser" and gave some roles and i created tablespaces and some tables in it and after that i stopped the service of "testdatabase",then i copied the folder of "testdatabase" from admin, oradata,flash_recovery_area and rdbms from diag folders at another location on my system.
then i login to "testdatabase" through sys after starting the service,then i drop "newuser" and stop the service again then i replace the folders of "testdatabase" from coressponding copied folders(from its original files) then i start the service and login to "testdatabase" through the "newuser" then all data is recovered successfully.
but when i tried to replace these all folders to the folders of the same named database which is on another machine (i have copied it by stopping the service of it)after stopping the service and then i tried to connect it then it throughs an error-"ORA-01033:
ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress" and i wait for 3-4 hours for it , but same error.
We are running a 5Tb database backup which takes really a long time to backup and impacts the performance in general during the backup. We got a DataGaurd database in place which we want to utilize to run the RMAN backup on to avoid performance impacts and just use DG database for backup and DR purposes. My Question is if we run the backups on DataGaurd Database, How would a RMAN DG database backup would clear the archive logs from Primary production and from DataGaurd Database during the backup process?
I set 'maxopenfiles 4' when allocating channel to sbt in my products env, I got 2 backup pieces in one backup set because that tablespace has 7 datafiles. Other configuration is kept as default, such as no maxsize, no MAXPIECESIZE, and etc setting.
I read document from Oracle. It says:"By default a backup set contains one backup piece. To restrict the size of each backup piece, specify the MAXPIECESIZE option of the CONFIGURE CHANNEL or ALLOCATE CHANNEL commands. " And also, maxopenfiles configure does not force another backup piece generated. So, why do I get another backup piece?
BTW, I tried this on another testing environment. I only get one backup piece even there are more than 2 times maxopnefiles datafiles.
I need to restore a backup of database A from into Database B. Both have the same names. Database B is already up and running.
I have a full rman backup of Database A ( it was taken with a recovery catalog which I don't have access to now as it was deleted ). I just have the full backup pieces including the control files. Is it possible to recover this database into Database B from this stand point.
I was thinking
2. Shutdown database B 3. Mount database B. It has same name as Database A. 4. With RMAN restore controlfile. Will a new controlfile be created from the backup directory I have the rman pieces for the full backup in ?
