Application Express :: Possible Bug In Export Of Static Files In V4.1.1.00.23
Jun 8, 2012
We recently updated to version 4.1.1.00.23, and need to do an export of our static files to migrate from our development to test (ApEx run-time) platform. When our DBA attempted to run the export script (we had renamed it from static_file.sql to browser_detect.sql), he received this error:
SQL> @browser_detect.sql
Set Credentials...
Check Compatibility...
Set Application ID...
...static file repository
p_notes=> '');

We took a look at static_file.sql, and noticed this:
declare
l_name varchar2(255);
l_html_id number := null;
begin
l_name := 'browser_detect.js';
wwv_flow_html_api.remove_html(
[code].......
The comma is missing after the p_flow_id parameter. This appears to be a bug in the export. It appears to be happening pretty consistently (other static files for this application, other static files for other existing applications).
I did a search of the forum to see if this issue reported this and checked listing on OTN and I don't see any reference to this particular issue. We're hesitant to just add the comma right now since we don't know whether there may be any other issues in the file it's generating.
if it is possible to include 'data' files as part of the Application Export process. Up till now I've only been able to include supporting object files which will recreate a table structure but not the data records - I've been creating the latter outside of APEX.
I would like to convert some existing application popup LOV items that currently use a static list for the LOV values.I have not been able to find instructions on how to use the existing popup static list (or create a new static list) with the new SuperLOV plug-in. Is this possible to do?
If an example or instructions are available, a link to these.
When uploading a static text/javascript file (i.e. filename = 'thisFile.js') the file Mime Type defaults to 'application/octet-stream' (instead of 'text/javascript'). This issue occurs in I.E. 8 but not in Firefox.
I need to change "File Character" when I export application with Apex 4.2.1.00.08 version, but this option, is not possible. The ComboBox already select with
"Unicode UTF-8]', but I need "ISO-8859-1 - Europa Ocidental",
I'm trying to find a way to recover my APEX application that I built during 10 months. In the first time, I tried to recover, repair, restore...etc. my corrupted database 11g1 without success, in the end with nerves, I delete everything and reinstalled 11g2. Before to delete, I copied all db files including the corrupted one (system01.dbf).
I had wrote a script in order to export after any big change in my DB, a full database (using exp tool).
So now, What I have is :
1 - New and clean database. 2 - Last full export from the older one. 3 - All db files of the old database (noarchivelog).
I can import my schema that I used in my APEX app to contain data and objects (tables, sequences, triggers, views, packages, functions and procedures). But, I can't restore the APEX app.
Is there any way to recover my app from the export or from dbfiles ?
I have two tables, one with the customer address and another one with a note. May I know how to create a separate PDF file (for each customer) that should start with the customer name/address (from customer table) and followed by a note (from the note table)
There is a report that is generated everyday in the .csv file format that i would want to load into the database. I want to completely automate this process. I don't want to use the load function available in APEX. I use APEX 3.2 Version.
What i mean by automation is that i will create the CSV file and automatically move to a location from which APEX can access the data. I would then write a procedure to fetch the content directly from CSV file and write to the database. What i need is the location from which APEX can access data directly ?
I'm using apex 4.2.1.00.08 and I cannot figure out how apex manages the static files and cannot find anything in the docs (other that some high level UI description). The application is serving some file and I cannot find which one it is in any easy way.
I have a workspace where there are several files that have the same name, and I cannot understand how apex figures out which one to serve, and also don't understand what is value of associating a file with an application.
There are files associated with application 0, which don't appear to show up in the "shared components", but can be seen as
SELECT * FROM wwv_flow_files WHERE flow_id = 0;
and can apparently only be deleted using "SQL Commands" inside apex. the URL called is something like
so apparently the only parameters that matter are the workspace and the file name. The associated application is irrelevant. apparently files linked to flow_id 0 have precedence over all the other files..
I have been searching the forum (and Google) looking for tips on how to ensure users can only upload files of specific formats (Word, PDF, etc) for specific document types as defined within the application (e.g. Curriculum Vitae (Word), Copy of Transcripts (PDF)).
While I have used this research to start work on a server-side solution, I would like to know if there is an apex-friendly way to "validate" a file-browse item based on mime-type.
Application which I`m creating would work only inside domain. In the report I would like to have a link to files that stored outside from oracle server ( so apex cannot see the file but knows the absolute path to the file ).
And when I click in the report on the link to the file I would like to have this file opened in the application controlled from my OS ( naturally if I have rights to the path specified given from domain level).
I have been trying with column link ( a href, file:// ) and none of them works. I want to avoid APEX from copying files to local path or opening using java or creating directory.
I am trying to export a workspace from apex 3.2 to apex 4.2. After the workspace has been imported into apex 4.2, do I have to export and import the applications too? Don't applications reside on workspace and therefore if a workspace is imported, all the applications should have been imported by default?
I need to export my whole workspace/application from Oracle Application Express so if i was to move onto a new pc and install oracle again. I can import this file and everything will be as it was without need of editing anything.
Is this possible if so how? - Preferably export into 1 big file so importing will be with 1 mouse click instead of exporting to seperate database files etc.
I am using Oracle XE (11g) with APEX 4.1.1.0023 and Glassfish for the APEX Listener.I created a Data Upload set of pages and things worked great. I then exported the whole application and imported it into a new environment that was the same except the schema name was different. It was a different owner. I then tested the data upload in the new schema/environment and could not get the data loading to recognize the table. Upon comparison of the Shared Components between the two environments I discovered that the imported application in the new environment was still looking for the original schema name. The name is not editable via the Shared Components page. I had to recreate the pages and have it create a new Data Loading object before things worked again.
My application has several update-able forms. And I build a single staging table to store all these records.
The user wants a button on the last form and by clicking on this button they want to export the file(updated records from all the forms) in ASCII format.
if its do-able or not in apex since I haven't come across this kind of request earlier and didn't find the same in this forum?
am trying to Export an SQL report to a CSV using a button. I made the button request to 'CSV' but I am unable to generate, the same works for an IR report. I am using Oracle APEX 4.0 version.
understanding where to store the static SQL code (Database or Application).Consider a scenario, that I am executing a simple SQL from Java which is returning some value, and it will not be changed in future.
should I store this sql in java application code or in database in form of procedure/function and returning the result to Java. Is there any security/performance impact?
I am running my oracle apex application on 4.2.2 on apex.oracle.com. Exporting the application seems to work but when I go to import the application as a copy the regions within a particular page are not working correctly. I want to be able to export the application and import a new copy as a DEV/TEST application and have it function the same way. On the original application the region will display to the right when hovered over the edit button but in the new one it will go to the left and not format correctly.How I would like it is just for the copy application to perform the same way the original copy does. I selected to install all dependent objects and don't know what steps I have missed to have the regions not working like they do on the original application. related to CSS not exporting/importing correctly?
I am running a two node rac on grid 11.2 and db 11.2.0.3. My application does not like the scan listener, therefore I have to configure the remote listener parameter to the vips of the two hosts, which is working fine.
But it comes out the the system needs the service registered with the scan listener. So. How can I add a static service entry for my scan listener ?
I try to find out how export data from table to Excel file format and save the result to BLOB field in some other table.I know how to download report from Page by submit, but I need to process data and instead of returning result to user as Excel file - save it in BLOB.
Also I found implementation on JAVA for the issue but actually I wanna study out - Is it possible to resolve this issue by PL/SQL and APEX API methods?
I want to export my oracle table to (Excel) Format . I am using Oracle SQL Developer 3.2. I know option to export table through GUI. But i want to achive through script level or procedure level.(SQL Developer 3.2). how to achive this i tried for several method but not get the proper output .
I create this because I need a way to export SQL commands in several forms to Excel without using CSV files. So this routine opens MS-Excel automaticaly and then export the data of the SQL into a sheet within the excel. Is a procedure that can be use in any form and using simple or complex SQLs.
I compressed 3 files in the TXT file. So, first change the extension from TXT to RAR and then unzipped the file.
I am a fairly new dba and we had one of our HP Array cluster's crash to the point where oracle will not startup or mount anymore. I can access the datafiles on the linux server however. Is there a way to export the datafiles to another linux box to import in another database or have I pretty much lost everything (we do have an RMAN backup however it is in a remote location and the only person that knows the password to it is unavailable.
exporting a big table (many rows = 3.000.000). Using the command exp the error message returned is "expdat.dmp > EXP-00028: failed to open expdat.dmp for write". Is there a possibility to export this table in multiple files (as a splitter)?
