Forms Host Command Cannot Copy To Network Drive

Oct 3, 2013

I am using the HOST command within Oracle Forms 10g on Windows server to copy a pdf file from the application server to a network folder on another Windows server.

The command works fine if I logon to Windows app server and type it. But it doesn't work when it is launched within Oracle forms using HOST. The command looks as follow

net use \\FileServer\e-file /user:usergroup\username password & copy D:\RepTmp\myReport.pdf \\FileServer\e-file\test\myReport.pdf

Oracle forms doesn't give any error message at all but the pdf file never gets there. Even when I map the network folder as "R:" drive on the Windows app server, a simple copy command like this does not work with HOST:

copy D:\RepTmp\myReport.pdf r:\test\myReport.pdf

Oracle Forms server is running as "SYSTEM" on the Windows server. If HOST won't work, is there any other way to copy the file other than using fpt?

SQL & PL/SQL :: Query For Shift Time

Apr 12, 2013

I'm trying to figure out, based on total scheduled shift time and scheduled breaks what the effective schedule time is by hour for a particular employee.

So I have a shift query that gives me this (using a cross-day shift here because they do happen-not sure if that will impact things):

Shift ID EmployeeID ShiftStart ShiftEnd
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/11/2013 06:00:00

And I have a activity query that gives me

Shift ID EmployeeID ActivityStart ActivityEnd Type
123 99 04/10/2013 23:00:00 04/10/2013 23:15:00 Break
123 99 04/11/2013 02:00:00 04/11/2013 03:00:00 Lunch
123 99 04/11/2013 04:00:00 04/11/2013 04:15:00 Break

And I need a query that give me this:

Shift ID EmployeeID ShiftStart Hour Net_Scheduled_Time(min)
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/10/2013 21:00:00 60
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/10/2013 22:00:00 60
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/10/2013 23:00:00 45
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/11/2013 00:00:00 60
123 99 04/10/2013 21:00:00 04/11/2013 01:00:00 60

[Code]...

Is there a relatively easy way to get there in one query, no temp tables?

SQL & PL/SQL :: How To Create Random Shift Rota

May 8, 2012

I wanted to create shift rota for the employees as per the below conditions.

1). Shift should be rotated.(it should check previous 2 shifts and assign to another shift).

2). The same employees should not be allocated for the next shift .

Ex : Now jones, jekku, henry and villiams are in "C" shift . So the same employees should not be allocated to the next shift, it should be random. Some of these employees should be allocated to "B" and some employees should allocated to "A" shift....

Below are the SQL statements to create the table and input the data..

create table resource_details
(empno number(5) ,
ename varchar2(30),
shift char(1));

alter table resource_details add constraint res_pk primary key(empno) ;

insert into resource_details values(51370 , 'Finney' , 'A') ;
insert into resource_details values(51371, 'Jerry' , 'B') ;
insert into resource_details values(51372, 'Jones' , 'C') ;
insert into resource_details values(51373, 'Smith' , 'A') ;
insert into resource_details values(51374, 'Krishna' , 'B') ;
insert into resource_details values(51375,'Chenna','A');

[code]....

I have tried with employee number to check which shift he is/was in & assigned the shift accordingly , but here shift is getting rotated but not employees(same employees are going to the next shift, which should not be accepted..)

Index Datafiles Relocation

Basically , we have a large index tablespace , whose data files already spans multiple mount points , and has been extended with a new data file on a wrong mount point by mistake , Can we relocate this last datafile extension , to a different mount point while the DB is online ? Is there any special consideration for index datafiles (If such classification is correct ) or is it just like any other Oracle non-system datafile ?

What will be the effect on the normal data tables which are using this index if they are being accessed during the exercise? This is a 2 node Oracle 9i 9.2.0.8.0 RAC on Veritas Cluster .

Calculating Totalspace Consumed By Datafiles

Sep 20, 2012

11.2.0.2 on Solaris..I have such a large post on a very basic space calculation.

We have several tablespaces starting with WLMCS in our DB..I just wanted to calculate the total space consumed in the disk by all these tablespace combined .When I queried DBA_DATA_FILES.MAXBYTES and DBA_DATA_FILES.USER_BYTES , I've noticed that ,

When AUTOEXTEND is NO: MAXBYTES is 0 for these datafiles . But USER_BYTES won't be 0 for these files

When AUTOEXTEND is YES: MAXBYTES will be a non-zero value for these datafiles . USER_BYTES won't be 0 either for these files-- Not including datafile names for better readability.

SYS > select tablespace_name, maxbytes/1024/1024, user_bytes/1024/1024, autoextensible from dba_data_files where tablespace_name like 'WLMCS%';

TABLESPACE_NAME           MAXBYTES/1024/1024 USER_BYTES/1024/1024 AUT
------------------------- ------------------ -------------------- ---
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844           32766.9375 YES
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844            31615.875 YES
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844                16419 YES
WLMCS_OAT_DATA                    32767.9844           32766.9375 YES
[code]....

11 rows selected.To calculate the space consumed , I made 2 assumptions.Are the below 2 assumptions right?

Assumption 1. Whenever MAXBYTES = 0 , USER_BYTES should be considered for the space calculation.

Assumption 2. Whenever you have non-zero values for both MAXBYTES and USER_BYTES , MAXBYTES should be considered for the space calcuation.I did the calculation (adding up of) based on the above assumptions. Is this calcualtion Correct ?

-- Not including datafile names for better readability.

TABLESPACE_NAME           MAXBYTES/1024/1024 USER_BYTES/1024/1024
------------------------- ------------------ --------------------
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844           32766.9375
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844            31615.875
WLMCS_DATA                        32767.9844                16419
