Write Shell Script To Parse Parameter File
Mar 29, 2013
I'm working on trying to write a shell script to parse a parameter file, but at the same time I want to be able to overwrite the parameter file settings with other command line settings. For instance if my par file had export/import settings for the username, password, schema, etc;
I wanted to run the same export/import with those settings for a different schema. I want to be able to put the schema=<different_than_par_file> after the parfile=<parfile.par and have the parfile be read and applied for everything except the different schema.
Right now I'm storing the cmd line and parsing it again looking for other parameters besides the parfile.

I created a procedure with cursor to inquiry a table. There is more than 1 million records on the table. For each record, I would like to transfer two columns on table as parameter to shell and feedback to procedure as varcahr2.
This is my sample(I only use 10 records for the testing).
create or replace procedure task_file(task_check in varchar2,file_name out varchar2) is
k number :=0;
v_task_number number :=0;
v_task_filename varchar2(30) := null;
cursor jobchk is select task_number,task_filename into v_task_number,v_task_filename from my.tasktable
where task_filename=task_check and rownum <=10;
[code]........

here is the situation, I have to write a function that receive as parameter a datatype varchar2 and validate if the letter is less than "A" or greater than "Z", it must print do not correct, or correct depending on the situation, no problem so far, the only problem I've got is: If the symbol is ";" is valid, but i do not know how to write it, It does not depend on the PL/SQl languaje but depends on the logic itself.
DECLARE
v_nombre varchar2(20):='john;%';
vv varchar2(1);
begin
for i in 1..length(v_nombre) loop
[code]...

I have read the following article:[URL] 11070I want to know wherer if there exists a possibility of write a clob or an xml into a file on disk, if we do not have the CREATE ANY DIRECTORY privilege. Many functions, like UTL_FILE.FOPEN, or dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file, or dbms_xmldom.writetofile, need an Oracle directory to be created (with CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY...). But if we don't have this privilege, is there a possibility to export a clob into a file as xml (the clob contains 100% xml, but this is the column data type, CLOB) if we don't have that privilege?The clob data contains 48200 characters.

In PL\SQL program, I am writing information from one table to file. In my current architecture, I am writing the information to approximately 1000 files.
If I put the database write operation in another package and in another method and call this method from my PL\SQL program asychronously, can that increase performance?

We have a database that is accessed by ArcSDE, a product to modify maps. It uses BLOBs to store those maps.
We ran a load on the server and the response time was slow. By running the following query:
select event, total_waits, time_waited, avg_ms, round(ratio_to_report(time_waited) over () * 100) percent
from (select substr(event, 1, 30) event, total_waits, time_waited, round(time_waited_micro / total_waits / 1000, 2) avg_ms
from v$system_event
where wait_class in ('System I/O') union
select 'CPU' event, NULL, value, NULL
from v$sysstat
where statistic# = 12
order by 3 desc)
where rownum <= 10;
I get

I have a column which holds the data in the below format.
Source Data :
>SNO_SDSDQ-8192-BN>SNO_54-99-24120-8192
>SNO_SDSDQ-8192-BN>SNO_54-99-24120-8192>SNO_54-90-16489-008G
>SNO_SDPMDB-008G-11>SNO_54-90-18008-008G>SNO_54-62-08791-008G>SNO_20-81-00327
>SNO_SDPMDB-008G-12>SNO_54-90-17830-008G>SNO_54-62-08598-008G>SNO_20-81-00327
[code]..
Problem Statement :
Split the above data into individual components and create columns / aliases dynamically.If the column is present then place the data under the created column.
Example 1) :
>SNO_SDSDQ-8192-BN>SNO_54-99-24120-8192
Result
Column Name : SKUCol_54-99
Data :SNO_SDSDQ-8192-BNSNO_54-99-24120-8192
Example 2)
>SNO_SDSDAA-002G-101-J>SNO_54-90-16002-002G>SNO_54-62-05781-002G>SNO_20-81-00135-5
Column Name : SKU54-90Col_54_62Col_20_81
Data :SNO_SDSDAA-002G-101-JSNO_54-90-16002-002GSNO_54-62-05781-002GSNO_20-81-00135-5
Column Name can be derieved from the components like SNO_54-62-05781-002G
i.e. SNO_54-62-05781-002G ==> SNO_-05781-002G
"54-62" will give the Col_Name
The First Column will always have data starting with
SNO_SD%
This column is constant and will be named as SKU.
I need this data to be placed in the same record / row but under different columns as per the data set.Basically, Can the data be split into multiple parts based on delimeters and the columns are created based on the unique data in the parts that form the data in the column.

I got the table where are logged every single events from web site. Sometimes (depends on events)is written xml code into the xml_params column of table H ow to make an automatically procedure (sql query, function, or something like that) which every value of xml code should be written separate into the column the table. The point is I dont know what parameters will be included in the xml code in future.
For instance xml looks like:
<parameters xmlns="http://datalan.sk/webreporting/params/v1_0">
<parameter name="loginReason">
<value>invalidUserNameOrPassword</value>

recreate paramater file if you lost init.ora or spfile.ora
STEPS
SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file 'D:ORACLEORA92DATABASEINITGPT2.ORA'
How to resolve ORA-01078 with LRM-00109 error?
For resolving these error, you should need to replace init.ora or spfile if you have backup of same files. If you don't have backup then go to alert.log and copy all parameters in one file and save as "init.ora". Modify same init.ora with some parameters which need single quotation mark " ' " like background_dump_dest,controlfiles,db_name and "dispatchers ......)". Connect as sysdba in SQL*Plus and execute command "create spfile from pfile=" or startup pfile or startup.
