I want to read and write data from a file in | seprated mode. file READ and WRITE using Oracle Forms6i. I have a knowledge of file handling in C++ but not use it in Oracel Form before this.
I will have to provide read/write access to an oracle user. What privileges should i grant to the user so as to enable the user to read from and write to the files?
I want to know if there are any freeware's available to read and write .sql files. I hava a .sql file with set of insert statements and I need to identify the values that are pushed into table, the table name, the inner query clauses etc., from the sql statement.
After identifying, need to translate and push those changes back to the .sql file. Is there any way to do this with parsers rather reading the whole of file line by line.
I did come across few parsers like ZQL, sqljep etc
How to write to text file using oracle? And how do I handle spaces/next line? (i was trying to use spaces(ch(32)), however it is just converted into squares in the text file.)
I have created an user named "Raja" with a default tablespace as "Raja_TBS" along with a datafile "rajadata.dbf". I have taken the tablespace offline
SQL> alter tablespace raja_tbs offline;
Tablespace Altered. when I take a tablespace offline, which means I cannot read or write and the tablespace is currently unavailable for users. I am still able to create a table on the "Raja_TBS" while it is offline.
I need to develop a form which has to read and display the contents of a text file that is stored in the Unix system where the Oracle data base is installed. So basically its the database server and not the forms application server.
1. Create an external table for the file everytime when the form is loaded by dropping and re creating the table and base the data block in the form on that table and execute_query and display the contents.
2. I am confused whether to use webutil or utlfile packages to read from the file and display on the screen as the file resides in the database or Oracle server and not forms application server or client machine.
Actually I have done some search but with no result. I have to check the oracle DMP file which is being sent through the EXP utility from oracle and have to search for a pattern in the file. If the pattern in found then send a mail.
I have tried using the GREP on the DMP and SED but as the lines are longer than expected these are not providing desired results.
I have a Clob file as a in parameter in my PROC. . File is comma separated.need procedure that would parse this CLOB variable and populate in oracle table .
I would like to develop a form which will be replica of windows explorer.It should be able to read all files or files from a specific folder from an unix platform.
if yes can i have a template. I do not want to start from the scratch since I do not have much time.
I want to read the csv file and load into oracle table.But I am getting file with filename_<today date> for every day. Is it possible to use single External table to read file in dynamic.
or what is the best way to do this? My oracle version 10g in windows OS.
Trying to learn about Oracle Database Mobile Server.Installed the server, installed the client on WIN 32, created a publication and successfully synchronized.Now need to write a client application for mobile users.
Qs 1) Can I write a simple JSP that reads a table from device SQLITE database?or, the JSP needs to read off a subscrption?If it needs a subscription as the source, then how do I mention it in the JSP?
in my case both are not working as i am using oracle forms 11g with oracle weblogic application server and attached the required .pll libraries in the form but no success yet.
when i click on the button form is hanged and on the server machie the following message appears " Close this form". when i close this it close the form applet session completely.
We have recently shifted our database from 10G to 11G and after the intial hickups most of the thinghs have stablised. We had changed system by Alter System command so that database does not have case sensevity problem and with that all the reports from the forams have also stabilied However some of the forms are failing with the above error ORACLE ERROR Unable to read list of values
These form are running fine with users having DBA privelege. However other users this is failing.
We have also checked that with users not having DBA privelege we are able to read the data in the table within the form also. The query in the record group is very simple
"SELECT CODE,SHORTDESC FROM GENCODES WHERE CODETYPE='BS' AND CODE <> '00'"
All these forms were fine previously when database was on 10g.
Moreover there are many other fields where list of values are there and allthose are ruing fine.
I have also checked datatype and length in query as well as fields on the form
I have read the following article:[URL] 11070I want to know wherer if there exists a possibility of write a clob or an xml into a file on disk, if we do not have the CREATE ANY DIRECTORY privilege. Many functions, like UTL_FILE.FOPEN, or dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file, or dbms_xmldom.writetofile, need an Oracle directory to be created (with CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY...). But if we don't have this privilege, is there a possibility to export a clob into a file as xml (the clob contains 100% xml, but this is the column data type, CLOB) if we don't have that privilege?The clob data contains 48200 characters.
In PL\SQL program, I am writing information from one table to file. In my current architecture, I am writing the information to approximately 1000 files.
If I put the database write operation in another package and in another method and call this method from my PL\SQL program asychronously, can that increase performance?
We have a database that is accessed by ArcSDE, a product to modify maps. It uses BLOBs to store those maps.
We ran a load on the server and the response time was slow. By running the following query:
select event, total_waits, time_waited, avg_ms, round(ratio_to_report(time_waited) over () * 100) percent from (select substr(event, 1, 30) event, total_waits, time_waited, round(time_waited_micro / total_waits / 1000, 2) avg_ms from v$system_event where wait_class in ('System I/O') union select 'CPU' event, NULL, value, NULL from v$sysstat where statistic# = 12 order by 3 desc) where rownum <= 10;
suppose i have a file named chk.txt and I have write 10 line in that file and i just want to write some text at line 5 or line first then how we can do this ?
i have files a.text which is parent file and another one is child one called file b.txt . Both files are linked together by common field called "id". Interesting part child file have multiple layers name associated with ids. (we are only aware that in b.txt for each id there could be max 3 layers)
So they needs to get loaded into Table called PARENT_TBL
So PARENT_TABLE looks like ID NAME SUBJECT LAYER LAYERNO
I'm working on trying to write a shell script to parse a parameter file, but at the same time I want to be able to overwrite the parameter file settings with other command line settings. For instance if my par file had export/import settings for the username, password, schema, etc;
I wanted to run the same export/import with those settings for a different schema. I want to be able to put the schema=<different_than_par_file> after the parfile=<parfile.par and have the parfile be read and applied for everything except the different schema.
Right now I'm storing the cmd line and parsing it again looking for other parameters besides the parfile.
I am often supplied with a list of numbers to query against & normally take the easy option of editing the file & placing the select on each line. Like so. what to do to loop this. The input file would just be the numbers in a flat file.
