SQL & PL/SQL :: Write A Dynamically Changing Filename - Code Not Producing Any File?

Jul 19, 2011

I tried to write a dynamically changing filename and file type so that i can dump some data. But the code I wrote is not producing any file at all even though it compiles with no errors. I run this code at XE database which comes free from the oracle website. I did all the directory settings. No problem with it because I can produce file with different codes. The code is as following:

CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE dump_csv_file IS

TYPE number_array IS VARRAY(10000) OF NUMBER;
TYPE string_array IS VARRAY(10000) OF VARCHAR2(100);
TYPE date_array IS VARRAY(10000) OF DATE;
TYPE v_file_array IS VARRAY(10000) OF UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;

[code]...

SQL & PL/SQL :: Write A Code Which Dynamically Reads The Table Name From User_tables?

Oct 7, 2013

Firstly the table structures :

Create table cd_patient (pat_mrn varchar2(100)) ;
Create table cd_encount (pat_mrn varchar2(100), encounter_id varchar2(1000));

I need to write a code which dynamically reads the table name from user_tables (starting with cd) & load the data from remote database which has the same table name & structure based on the load number..

Static PLSQL statement would be :

declare
BEGIN
INSERT INTO "cd_patient" C-- DYNAMICALLY GET THE TABLE NAME
SELECT C1.PAT_MRN -- DYNAMICALLY GET THE COLUMN NAME
FROM REMOTE_DB.CD_PATIENT@XXX C1
WHERE C1.LOAD_NUMBER > 2;

Forms :: Dynamically Changing The Record Group?

Nov 17, 2011

I am working on forms 6i, ebs 11i and data base 9i. I have below requirement to achieve.

I want to create a lov for a column called 'FORM'.

I have lookup for this as follows

lookup code meaning description

FORM FORM XXSMCINV_FORM

in the description, it's value set name.

I am manually checking the value set name and writing static record group.

Right now, i have static record group for this like below.

select ffvv.flex_value "FORM"
from fnd_flex_value_sets ffvs,fnd_flex_values_vl ffvv
where ffvs.flex_value_set_id=ffvv.flex_value_set_id
and ffvs.flex_value_set_name='XXSMCINV_FORM' order by flex_value;

It's working fine.

But in the lookup, they can add one more FORM like below.

LOOKUP_CODE MEANING DESCRIPTION

FORM FORM XXSMCINV_FORM
FORM1 FORM1 XXSMCINV_FORM1

Now i have to change the record group query manullay like below.

select ffvv.flex_value "FORM"
from fnd_flex_value_sets ffvs,fnd_flex_values_vl ffvv
where ffvs.flex_value_set_id=ffvv.flex_value_set_id
and ffvs.flex_value_set_name='XXSMCINV_FORM' order by flex_value;
UNION
select ffvv.flex_value "FORM"
from fnd_flex_value_sets ffvs,fnd_flex_values_vl ffvv
where ffvs.flex_value_set_id=ffvv.flex_value_set_id
and ffvs.flex_value_set_name='XXSMCINV_FORM1' order by flex_value;

Is there anyway i can make this automatic whenever they add new FORM lookup.

Is this possible to achieve using dynamic record group.

PL/SQL :: Pivot In 11g Producing Keyword Error?

Dec 19, 2012

I just so happen to be the one trail blazing the pivot function for the section of the company I work in. (Needless to say, a Sesame Street style answer will not be offensive.) We are literally in the process of upgrading to 11g (11.2.0.1.0). Sadly, none of our more experienced programmers now anything about the pivot function. Not really surprising to me since we've been working in 10g. Anyway, I am using SQL Developer version 3.0.04 which I know is not the newest but I don't yet have permission to upgrade. I used [URL] to get me as far as I am on this function.

The script I am having problems with is:

SELECT *

The error I'm getting is:

*Cause:
*Action:
Error at Line: 16 Column: 2

PL/SQL :: Write Clob Or Xml To A File?

Jul 9, 2013

I have read the following article:[URL] 11070I want to know wherer if there exists a possibility of write a clob or an xml into a file on disk, if we do not have the CREATE ANY DIRECTORY privilege. Many functions, like UTL_FILE.FOPEN, or dbms_xslprocessor.clob2file, or dbms_xmldom.writetofile, need an Oracle directory to be created (with CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY...). But if we don't have this privilege, is there a possibility to export a clob into a file as xml (the clob contains 100% xml, but this is the column data type, CLOB) if we don't have that privilege?The clob data contains 48200 characters.

How To Control File Parallel Write

Mar 2, 2011

We have a database that is accessed by ArcSDE, a product to modify maps. It uses BLOBs to store those maps.

We ran a load on the server and the response time was slow. By running the following query:

select event, total_waits, time_waited, avg_ms, round(ratio_to_report(time_waited) over () * 100) percent
from (select substr(event, 1, 30) event, total_waits, time_waited, round(time_waited_micro / total_waits / 1000, 2) avg_ms
from v$system_event
where wait_class in ('System I/O') union
select 'CPU' event, NULL, value, NULL
from v$sysstat
where statistic# = 12
order by 3 desc)
where rownum <= 10;

Write Shell Script To Parse Parameter File

Mar 29, 2013

I'm working on trying to write a shell script to parse a parameter file, but at the same time I want to be able to overwrite the parameter file settings with other command line settings. For instance if my par file had export/import settings for the username, password, schema, etc;

I wanted to run the same export/import with those settings for a different schema. I want to be able to put the schema=<different_than_par_file> after the parfile=<parfile.par and have the parfile be read and applied for everything except the different schema.

Right now I'm storing the cmd line and parsing it again looking for other parameters besides the parfile.

DBF File Size Changing After Cloning Same Schema From Different Machines In Oracle 11gR2

Jul 22, 2011

Our product uses Oracle11gR1 and in new release we are going to use Oracle11gR2. For this we are performing following steps:

(1) Install Oracle11gR2 on a machine where our product (Oracle11gR1) is already installed.
(2)Upgrade Oracle11gR1 schema to Oracle11gR2.
(3)For using upgraded schema in our product installer we create clone of upgraded schema.
(4)For creating clone we are using Oracle11gR2 DBCA utility.
(5) Clone files are successfully created (DBC, CTL, DBF).

Now we performed same steps from another machine and DBF file size changed very much. On one machine it was 89 MB and on second machine it was 150 MB. There is no different in schema and both machines are Windows 7 machines.

Tor educe size of schema we tried different space reclamation commands but size is not changing.
