PL/SQL :: Get Runtime Parameter In SQL File?
Dec 11, 2012I want to get runtime parameter in .sql file . read values at runtime in .sql file

View 6 RepliesI have developed a report using apex shared components (report query and report layout) along with BI Publisher for report printing in pdf format. the Report template is built using Template Builder for Word. I have configured my Apex4.1 env with BI Publisher 11. This report is working fine for hardecode ID ( like REQUEST_ID=10 ). to make report dynamic i have made following additions in the report
I have added where clause in report query as WHERE REQUEST_ID = :REQUEST_ID (:REQUEST_ID is the text field in my page).
Added a text field names :REQUEST_ID to get user input at run time.
Create a button and add Repot Query URL in its properties. When i run the report with some valid value in :REQUEST_ID text field i did not get expected result infect there is no record getting displayed in the PDF file. i think this is not the write way to do this but interestingly im not getting any error. how can i get this functionality in apex this way or the other ?
I need to upload a file from the client to app server in runtime.
Opening some kind of explorer to choose the file then upload the file and safe the path in a database column.
I need to generate a select query in runtime and store the results of it into a file.Each time the column name and table name in the query will differ.Now im able to generate the select query through for cursor but problem is to store the results to the file.I tried using plsql table,im able to get the values to that table and store the results to a file,but the results of the query is more then 10000 lines (it might increase also)where only 4000 characters where able to store in the plsql table.so rest of them are not stored in the file.

STEPS
SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file 'D:ORACLEORA92DATABASEINITGPT2.ORA'
How to resolve ORA-01078 with LRM-00109 error?
For resolving these error, you should need to replace init.ora or spfile if you have backup of same files. If you don't have backup then go to alert.log and copy all parameters in one file and save as "init.ora". Modify same init.ora with some parameters which need single quotation mark " ' " like background_dump_dest,controlfiles,db_name and "dispatchers ......)". Connect as sysdba in SQL*Plus and execute command "create spfile from pfile=" or startup pfile or startup.
I have a question ragarding undo tablespace. I want to ask that why only undo tablespace information we need to specify in parameter file. We do not specify any other tablespace information. Not even for temporary tablespace. Then why we need to give undo tablespace name while instance is creating.
View 5 Replies View Relatedinformation on this listener.ora parameter and the endpoints file? There is no reference in the docs (except for a sample listener.ora file in the RAC Installation Guide, no explanation).
Following a clusterware with gPNP installation, the listener.ora file has only IPC addresses, plus this parameter:
LISTENER=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER))))# line added by Agent
LISTENER_SCAN3=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER_SCAN3))))# line added by Agent
LISTENER_SCAN2=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER_SCAN2))))# line added by Agent
LISTENER_SCAN1=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER_SCAN1))))# line added by Agent
ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN1=ON# line added by Agent
ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN2=ON# line added by Agent
ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN3=ON# line added by Agent
ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER=ON# line added by Agent
The endpoints_listener.ora file specifies the fixed and VIP addresses of the public NIC:
LISTENER_GR7244=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.196.182.201)(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.196.180.44)(PORT=1521)(IP=FIRST))))# line added by Agent
The listener named LISTENER is in fact listening on both its IPC address, and the addresses in the endpoints_listener.ora file:
[grid@gr7244 admin]$ lsnrctl status listener
LSNRCTL for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production on 02-APR-2010 04:52:02
Copyright (c) 1991, 2009, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER)))
STATUS of the LISTENER
[code]...
The scan listener on this node is listening on its IPC address, and its VIP:
[grid@gr7244 admin]$ lsnrctl status listener_scan3
LSNRCTL for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production on 02-APR-2010 04:46:15

Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=LISTENER_SCAN3)))
STATUS of the LISTENER

Alias LISTENER_SCAN3
[code]...
I did wonder if this parameter and file could be part of the mechanism whereby a listener discovers the DHCP assigned VIPs on which it has to listen?
I'm working on trying to write a shell script to parse a parameter file, but at the same time I want to be able to overwrite the parameter file settings with other command line settings. For instance if my par file had export/import settings for the username, password, schema, etc;
I wanted to run the same export/import with those settings for a different schema. I want to be able to put the schema=<different_than_par_file> after the parfile=<parfile.par and have the parfile be read and applied for everything except the different schema.
Right now I'm storing the cmd line and parsing it again looking for other parameters besides the parfile.
I have a question about spfile.
SQL> SELECT COUNT(*) FROM v$parameter WHERE value IS NOT NULL;
COUNT(*)
----------
246
SQL> SELECT COUNT(*) FROM v$spparameter WHERE value IS NOT NULL;
COUNT(*)
----------
20
v$parameter displays information about the initialization parameters that are currently in effect for the session,but v$spparameter displays information about the contents of the spfile.I want to know why the count of parameters whose values are not null in v$parameter is greater.where are they from? My initialization parameter file is spfile.
I have some question about the parameter RESUMABLE 10G. My quesition is suppose if i am running a expdp process and if there is no space left on the file system the export fails. So in this case if we set the RESUMABLE parameter in the DB will it be useful to resume the expdp from where it fails or it will useful if we schedule a job for the export.

I Have got a requirement where we have to generate an xml conforming to a particular XSD.
What i will be having already in place is an XSD document.
We are thinking of making a procedure which will be recieving the set of inputs required for creating that xml.(Data content of that XML.)We would have to make the XML according to that XSD.
Everytime Parsing the XSD is not feasible.We are looking at a solution which would be easy to make the xml from xsd at runtime.These values (DATA) will be available at run time.
I have tables dynamically created with dynamic number of columns. There will be 7 columns that would always be fixed with their names and data types. They will always be last 7 columns.
way to write a select statement on those dynamic tables where only those known 7 columns are not selected and I need to select all the rest columns but leave the 7 columns names I know.
We have a Form for viewing some datas, now i need to create a new button and Hide that button while run time for All Users except one user, how to set this option.
Addl.info: This Button should be displayed only for a single user login not for all the users using that form. how to make this option?
I want to search the record in a report. I want option when the reports forms is running.

I have one form that is migrated from oracle forms 6i to 11g. I opened that form by 11g form builder and it has 3 text items. Then i run the form from 11g builder...here is my problem, only 2 text items are displayed in my browser(IE). another one is invisible... i checked the property pallet for that particular text item.
i checked the following properties and its value in my form:
enabled=yes
visible=yes
but the text item is not visible.
We have procedure that writes text to an Excel file.
The 10g database is setup for US7ASCII character set. This causes the characters on the Excel spreadsheet to appear strangely. As an example an 'a' would appear with a character similar to '~' on top of the 'a'.
If there anyway of resetting the character set at runtime of the procedure.
Can We Create Forms Runtime in Oracle Forms 10g Like Oracle Forms 6i
