Application Express :: Dynamic Reports - Runtime Parameter Passing To Report Query

Jul 27, 2013

I have developed a report using apex shared components (report query and report layout) along with BI Publisher for report printing in pdf format. the Report template is built using Template Builder for Word. I have configured my Apex4.1 env with BI Publisher 11. This report is working fine for hardecode ID ( like REQUEST_ID=10 ).  to make report dynamic i have made following additions in the report

I have added where clause in report query as WHERE REQUEST_ID = :REQUEST_ID (:REQUEST_ID is the text field in my page).

Added a text field names :REQUEST_ID to get user input at run time.

Create a button and add Repot Query URL in its properties. When i run the report with some valid value in :REQUEST_ID text field  i did not get expected result infect there is no record getting displayed in the PDF file. i think this is not the write way to do this but interestingly im not getting any error. how can i get this functionality in apex this way or the other ?

Application Express :: Interactive Report Based On Dynamic Query

Aug 29, 2012

I am using Apex 4.1 and have a requirement to create an interactive report based on a dynamic query. This option is available in Classic report but in Interactive this feature is not there. Tried using collections or just a view (thought of changing the view definition during "On load", but structure of the report is already defined based on the definition of the view at design time).

Is there any way of achieving this?

Application Express :: Creating Link In IR Report Passing Value From Different Column

Feb 19, 2013

Version 4.0.2.00.07

I have an Interactive Report with a column that I need to create a link on but I need to pass the value of another column.

This report shows the Features of a particular Release. There is a select list for the Release that is selected and executes the report. There is a column that indicates whether the Feature has a Commitment attached to it. If there is have that a link to another report that shows all the Commitments for that Feature by passing the FEATURE_ID which is also a column on the Feature report.

Query:
SELECT
....
,CASE WHEN ft.feature_id IN (SELECT cc.feature_id
FROM customer_commitments cc
WHERE ft.feature_id = cc.feature_id
) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No'
END "Commitment Exists"
,ft.feature_id
....

FROM ....If "Commitment Exists" has a 'Yes', the 'Yes' is a link that will pass the FEATURE_ID to another report that will show the Commitments for that Feature. If the "Commitment Exists" has a 'No' then no link. I was also wondering if the Commitment report could open in a seperate window and make it modal?

Application Express :: Using Dynamic Report Parameters With BI Publisher?

Sep 3, 2012

available for doing reporting in BI Publisher? For example, I would like to use the same report for one person or for many people. This would mean that a where clause should be added when it is for the individual and would not be needed for the whole population. I do not see a way to dynamically build the report using "Report Queries" in Shared Components.

It is easy to build a sql query based on different selection criteria in the Region Source of a pagethat then gets displayedd on the page but I am not seeing much flexibility in creating a report with BI Publisher in Apex.

Application Express :: Dynamic Actions Not Updating Report Every Time

Aug 29, 2013

I have a page which downloads statspack reports from different servers and stores them in APEX. As well as this it also display a summary of data (top 5 wait events & load profile info) when hovering an icon: [URL]... The chart will refresh itself and display the data based on the value of P10_SNAPVAL (storing the PK value). The report does not do as I expect it to do (it isn't refreshing the table). I have the following:

PL/SQL Dynamic Content region making the report Dynamic Action- Event: Change- Item: P10_SNAPVAL- Action: Refresh- Affected Element: Region - Load Profile (the PL/SQL Dynamic Content)- Event scope:

I've tried both bind & live The value of P10_SNAPVAL is changed whenever the user hovers a penguin icon (this works because the chart works).

var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value, nu

Application Express :: Dynamic Action Call From An Interactive Report?

Jul 6, 2012

I’m on APEX 4.1, 11gR2, Windows 7 and the latest version of Firefox. I have an interactive report. I want the end user to have the ability to click on a row level link and launch a modal pop up view of another page. Ideally, I'd like to be able to use the Skillbuilders plug-in. I can get it to work if I just go the full page route but I cannot figure out a way to get it to work as a modal pop up. I’ve tried various methods, none of which work, but the one I believe I should be following is by using a page level Dynamic action that fires when a JQuery Selector found item is clicked. The problem I’m having is that I cannot find the correct JQuery Selector syntax for the column. My report has a static ID of IDN and my column a header of PARTS. The best I can manage is not to see anything happen other than a page refresh (when the link is set to the same page). I do not see and firebug console errors.

I’ve replaced the dynamic action modal page call with an alert, which is not showing, to make sure that it's not the plug-in configuration that is causing the problem.

what I should be filling in in the JQuery Selector field of the DA and what the link attributes should be? Given that I wish to redirect from page 1 to page 2, what do I put in the other link fields?

Application Express :: Adding All Records In Report Parameter

Aug 8, 2012

I am trying to create a report parameter using an lov. You be able to pick one item or return All

The source for my lov is

SELECT l.extkey||' - '||l.longdescr a,  l.clocid b
from udm_cloc l, udm_cust c, udm_lde lde
where l.custid = c.custid
and c.ldeid = lde.ldeid
[code].......

But I keep getting an error
'LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.

Application Express :: Dynamic Alignment Of Report Column And Page Item Value?

May 7, 2013

I have an interactive report which contains the columns like

<li>empno
<li>Name

In the above i have "empno" with a column alignment of left and a "Name" with a column alignment of left.

Whether it is possible to override the data alignment that we set in the report according to the value of the application item like

If my application item value is US, then i need the column alignment of both the column"empno" and "Name" to be left and if my application item value is AR, then i need the column alignment of both the column "empno" and "Name" to be right. Whether is it possible to achieve the dynamic alignment to the report data of both the columns "empno" and "Name" according to the application page item value. And also in the case of page item i have a page item with a name P1_NAME in which it has a Element Horizontal/Vertical alignment to left.

I need that element alignment of the page item to behave dynamically according to the application page item, like if the application page item is US then the element alignment of the page item has to be left and if the application page item is AR then the element alignment of the page item has to be right.

Application Express :: Report With Multiple Values For A Single Parameter

Oct 4, 2012

I have a user requirement where they want to be able to select multiple values for a single parameter that will act as a filter for a report. The possible values for a parameter can come from almost any master data Oracle eBusiness table. I don't want to just present the user with a LOV where they search down a list selecting what they want. That wouldn't be very practical for selecting part numbers from 1000's of rows. I also want the user to easily see what values they have selected. I thought about providing a button that would navigate to a multi-row form where they could record their values and use those values in the where clause of the SQL for the report, but that is a somewhat complex solution I have never tried before. how to do this. I'm working in the latest version 4 of APEX.

Precompilers, OCI & OCCI :: Passing Parameters In A Dynamic Query

Jul 31, 2009

I have a Pro*C program, which uses a dynamic query. The dynamic query is opened using result of another static cursor( 5 fields say , :a, :b , :c, :c, :d).

I am modifying the dynamic query and adding UNION for some requirement , which makes this dynamic query exactly double in size. ( means 2 set of prev. queries are joined by UNION, with one extra condition though).

The question is , Do I need to pass 2 set of variable to open the dynamic query now?

Like earlier , program was passed with (:a, :b , :c, :c, :d)
so now i should pass (:a, :b , :c, :c, :d , :a, :b , :c, :c, :d)?

Application Express :: Prevent Interactive Report From Running Query On Initial Page Load?

Oct 1, 2012

I am on APEX 4.1.1, db 11g and I have a report which is quite slow to retrieve results from its query. The page has some filter fields (e.g. store code, dept code) in addition to the generic search field.

When the user lands on this page (from a menu page), the query runs before the page displays and this typically takes 1-2 mins without any filters yet set. The usual browser loading indicators are not obvious to the user and they might not be aware that it is working on the request.

I want it so that it will only run the query AFTER allowing the user to get to the page, let the user fill in some filter criteria and then click on the GO button. Therefore the query will run after the page is submitted. When you hit the GO button on the interactive report, a nice rotating apex_loader.gif appears, making it obvious to the user that it is working on the request.

I would prefer NOT to create 2 pages, one for user filter, and a second for the actual report as I have many reports/inquiries which fit this category and I would prefer NOT to have to create pairs of pages for each.
