Server Administration :: RMAN Restore Failure All Datafiles

Jul 1, 2013

I am facing an issue while rebuilding a DR (Physical Standby) site using RMAN.Rman is failing to restore all the datafiles to the stanby site.

There are 403 datafiles that should be restored among which after restoring 50-60 datafiles the channel is abruptly getting terminated.Please note this exercise is not new I have done this many times (once a year after a DR testing) and the same script is being used.The rcv file is as follows

/u03/oracle/admin/mpr/scripts/dataguard/configure_dr.rcv
connect auxiliary sys/XXXX@YYY
run {
duplicate target database for standby nofilenamecheck dorecover;
}
exit
CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET;
configure_dr.rcv: END
[code]....

The trace file says "krso_proc_add: Detected dead process 13828326; subsuming V$MANAGED_STANDBY slot
INFO: krsr_rfs_atc: RFS processes are temporarily disallowed"

I have also started RMAN debug tracing and the trace is also scanned as it is huge.I have seen the following in the trace error 3015 signalled during compilation..I do not find any specific oracle error to check on .

The only change that happened is that the Primary production server has been moved to a new datacentre and after its move all the connections seems to be working fine.

Enterprise Manager :: IO Error Occurred?

Jan 12, 2010

The last week or so, the job has not ran. I finally got some time today to take a look and when I try to manually export the schemas, i get the following message after the first screen (where you choose Schemas and your credentials are entered)

Validation Error - Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation: Error - IO error occured.

A few weeks ago i changed the password for sysman and dbsnmp because the backups were not running and after i did that, they ran for a few nights. The only other thing is our system admin for the server changed some user access for the C:Oracle folder, but I still have full control.

I am in the ORA_DBA group and i have "Logon as batch job" selected for my account.

I read at one place to go to Preferences - Preferred Credentials and test the host username and password. When i do this i get the message : "Connection to server as user XXXXXXX failed" so I am thinking it has something to do with my user account, but not sure what i need to change.

PL/SQL :: ORA-20001 / Unhandled Error Occurred

Aug 31, 2012

I've a procedure and a trigger. The problem is when I call the proc from inside the trigger I get an error message saying that

Error: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-20001: Unhandled error occured!
ORA-06512: at "ITEX.REFRESH_XSD", line 23
ORA-06512: at line 21

Here're these two problematic parts:

PROCEDURE:
create or replace
PROCEDURE Refresh_XSD(TableName IN varchar2)
IS
-- Variable declarations.
XML_Schema xmltype;
BEGIN

[code]....

So we have an xsd for a table only once. However that XSD needs to be refreshed when the table is altered, or created when the table is created. That's the reason I'm trying to use that trigger. If I comment out the procedure call from the trigger, everything works correctly except it does not do what needs to be done.

As far as I know only can't execute DDL statements from system triggers. But there's not a single DDL statement in there.

SQL & PL/SQL :: Error Occurred Calling A Web Service Using UTL_HTTP

Jun 27, 2013

I'm calling a web service with HTTPS protocol from a pl/sql program and i'm using the UTL_HTTP package for do this.

I have a Oracle DB installation 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 on my personal computer with a Windows XP OS, and when i run the code it works fine and returns the result I expect. But, when i run the same code on the Oracle DB of my work (Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 and OS HP-UX) it fails and give me an error, i think that the error has to do with the configuration of the wallet and the certificates in it, because i consume the WS from Os prompt using the command WGET and works fine and i test consuming a WS with HTTP no secure and works fine too.

This is the code and the result in the Oracle DB 11g on my computer:

Connected to Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0

SQL>

I have downloaded the 2 zip files for Oracle Database 11g Release 2, Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition windows 32bit. I am using windows vista on my laptop. I unpacked and installed the software.

I was getting issues with this installation but found when I turned off my firewall it install completely with no error messages,

I went to start the program but found that I was having problems with the password, I had entered the password I set up on installation, then I found in the start menu it shows a universal installer. I thought perhaps the password error is due to me not having installed it completely yet. So I have clicked on that, however I am now getting the following issue:

ok call me thick but just looked at the dbase folders installed in my start menu and there is a universal installer there, I have clicked on that and it has come up with an error,

OUI-10150:error:A runtime exception occurred while setting s_dlgCfgNamingLabelSIDnul in component Oracle Database 11g 11.2.0.1.0 Installation cannot continue for this component.

then it asks to tick one of the boxes:

I received a call from Line Controllor at 0823 hrs that a person has jumped in front of train 105 at Greenford. I informed Ian Williamson Train Operations Manager. We traveled on a special taxi with a spare Train Operator at 0839hrs and reached Greenford Station at 0859hrs. Emergency Services ( Police, London Ambulance, London Fire Brigade and ERU) were already on site. When spoken to Line Controlllor stated he received a normal radio call from E105 to inform him that he has got a person under his train. At 0826 Line Controllor had traction current switched off between Northolt and Greenford. Train service was suspended from North Acton to West Ruislip in both directions (east and west).

I could not speak to the Train Operator as Police was in the process of interviewing him and he was too traumatised to speak. Trauma Support was arranged from Loughton as we had no one available at West Ruislip and White City. Trauma Support spoke to T/OP over the telephone and Train Operator decided to travel in a special taxi which was booked for him on his own, although a Station Staff was was arranged to travel with him. During the process a spare T/OP stayed with this T/OP. When spoken to Mr. Clack Operations Security Manager stated he was traveling on this train from West Ruislip and made a telephone call to Network Operations Centre at 0826hrs to inform them of the situation. Mr. Clack travelled to the leading cab and confirmed that although the T/OP was badly shaken but he carried out his duties in a professinal manner by placing Short Circuiting Devise in front of the train and second SCD was placed on the rear of the track by Station Supervisor after traction current was discharged. Passengers were detrained by operation butterfly cock. Les Blaxwall Operations Standards Manager was also travelling on this train and offered his to T/OP. Mr. Blaxwall assisted in the wrong direction move and stayed till the end of the operation to assist. Wrong Direction move was carried out by T/OP Martin to assist emergency services for the track search. The deceased was an elderly of Asian origin approximately of 65yrs of age wearing white shirt, beige trauser and white trainers. When CCTV was viewed he was seen pacing up and down on the east bound platform near the waiting room. On approach of T105 he jumped in front of the train at 0824hrs and train stopped with two cars outside the station. The body was removed from platform at 0940hrs by ERU and taken in a body bag to the secure room at Greenford Station. Track was accessed by BTP to carry out track search for any trace of identification at 0932hrs and gave all clear at 0942hrs.

TOM Williamson assisted in closing the train doors by operating the butterfly cock to close position. Traction Current was switched on at 0948hrs and T105 was worked empty to North Acton and reversed to Ruislip Depot. All clear was given at 0951hrs and after station search, Greenford Station was re opened at 0955hrs. E142 was the first train to run in service on the east bound. Body was removed at 1013hrs from Greenford Station and taken to Uxbridge by the police. Trauma Support was offered to Station supervisor by his DSM, but he declined the offer.
